Toystoryduo’s Journal: Baby Steps are the Key... Celebrate Each Victory!

Hope mom & the family drama(don't you just HATE it??) are getting better!

Awesome on the savings for your WDW trip!! & MVMCP....How cool is that???? Can I come????

Hope you've had a good weekend and got some Tracy time!

Hi tracy
great news & lucky you for getting the MVMCP tickets :)
i love looking at menus on allears too, but the more i look the more i worry about how much of that lovely food i'm gonna eat!!!!
Glad your mom is back home :)

Thanks ladies.:hug:

Today has been a rough day. :( My girls are having issues following directions, getting chores done, cleaning their rooms,and arguing with each other. My DH is having work issues and I'm not feeling well. :( TOM is on the way, I'm tired, cranky, and eating like crazy. Yikes!:eek: My DH took the girls to their friend's baseball game so I have had a couple of hours to myself.:cloud9:

I was going to have a garage sale this weekend, but the weather does not look promising at all. I may try and get rid of some things via eBay and Craigslist. I need to add $$ to our Disney and homeschooling funds.

Workouts have been non-existent the past few days...We've been getting walks in each day, but the weather hasn't cooperated the past couple of days. The gym is still there, but I'm not there.:rotfl: Maybe next week....

We got our MVMCP tickets in the mail today!:banana: I also got a $10 rebate and a coupon for a free Glade scented oil thing because they gave me the wrong amount back on a rebate a few weeks ago.:banana:

I also made Chef Mickey's ADRs for December. Last week my BIL told me he wanted to eat there so I went ahead and made the reservation.:goodvibes

Since TOM is due to arrive this week and since I canceled our garage sale, I think I will spend some time setting goals for the next 6 months and getting ready for DD's birthday party. We're having her first party on July 4th w/ her cousin. Then we'll have another party with my in laws and another party with just our immediate family. We may also have a party with my grandma as well.

Well that's about all from here....Hope everyone has a great evening!:hug:

Hi Tracy. I'm glad to hear your mom came. Family drama is never fun, but doesn't it seem like no matter what family we're in, there is drama--if not growing up, we marry into it? :rotfl: I hope all is better on that front!

Yay for Disney Planning and getting your tickets! Makes it seem more real. I know you guys will have a fantastic time.

I hope the weather starts to cooperate so you can get back out there and your workouts in. When I woke up this morning, I was hoping it was raining so I could go back to bed. Sad, I know. It wasn't. So out I went.

By continuing on your path to get more fit and healthier, you are setting a great example for your kids. Maybe you have mentioned you already do this, but I was wondering if in your home schooling if you do some type of PE (Physical Education). I've read where you take the outside and the the parks. Just an idea, but didn't know if you could add 30 min to their daily schedule when they start back to school and you could do an aerobics tape with them...pilates or one of those new dance ones or something? That would help you to get in the activity and also be good for them. Just and idea...It just came to me. You may be doing this already, I just couldn't remember. I'm trying to figure out how to fit more activity into my day at work. It's a struggle to get it all in.

Hope you have a good day!
Stacie

Hi, Tracy. :hug: to you - I am having a similar kind of day myself, when nothing is truly WRONG, but you just feel out of sorts. I hope today is a better one for you!

I wanted to add that when Tara homeschooled, one of her curriculums required a certain amount of PE every day. We did workout videos and park time, but one thing she really liked was a mini trampoline. It wasn't very expensive and she could jump on that while she watched TV. She really enjoyed it, and it counted towards PE just like any other aerobic activity. Just a thought!

Take care of yourself!

Susan

Thanks Stacie and Susan.:hug:

TOM has arrived this week.:faint: All I can is YIKES!!!:scared1:

Not much motivation to get anything done. I've spent most of the day doing computer work and research.

I did manage to get some gifts for my DD5's birthday on eBay. I'm glad I checked eBay because the prices for the PS2 games were cheaper than in the stores. (I got 5 Disney PS2 games for less than $60!:banana: )

We're still working on getting payment on two invoices from the same contractor. Payments are almost 90 days overdue. This is very frustrating!:mad:

That's about all from here....I hope everyone has a great evening!:hug:

Hi, Tracy. Congrats on the great prices for the games - you sound like a super bargain shopper! I'm not that good at it, but I think I'm getting better - the economy has seen to that!

So sorry that you are dealing with overdue accounts again - that must be major league frustrating. I would have no patience with it, myself, so you guys are handling it much better than I would. Here's hoping you get the payments in today!

Hope you have a good one - take care!

Susan

Thanks Susan!:hug:

Vent ahead....

I just did a workout (FIRM Super Cardio Sculpt) that is normally easy for me. It was so difficult today! :( I didn't realize how hard it would be to do the step portion with an extra 10-15 pounds on me. :eek: I really started to think about this a lot because I know I have posted messages like this in my journals before. I seem to have cycles where I do well for a few months and lose weight, then I stop and gain weight. When I start working out again, I complain about how hard it is and how much I weigh. It's been like this for me since I started WISHing. I've only been below the 200 pound mark for one week in the past 5 years. :worried: I used to be a cheerleader and a gymnast for crying out loud....WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!?!?! :headache:

Ugh...hormones + TOM + lack of sleep + work stress + Tracy being sick of being overweight= :faint: :worried: :eek: :headache:

Weight 232.2
Exercise Minutes: 970

We found out this morning that the contractor hasn't been getting paid for his work and that he is paying us out of his pocket. I'm not sure if or when we will get the money. :(

Today's Plan:

* Workout (done)

* Laundry

* Plan DD5's birthday party

* Relax

I hope everyone has a great day!:hug:

oh Tracy I hope the payment comes through for you!
Try & ride TOM out & i'm sure you'll feel better then

Thanks Tracey.:hug:

Weigh-in: 230.8
Exercise minutes for the month: 995

So weigh-in was good this morning. I am aiming to be in the 220's next week. I need to lose this weight!::yes::

I have a to do list that is a mile long today. I think I am going to try and pare it down some.

Today's Plan:

* Color hair (done)

* Finish laundry (not even close to being done)

* Bank

* Dollar General

* Walgreens

* Start sorting eBay and garage sale items

* Plan DD5's birthday

* Workout (done...FIRM Super Body Sculpt/Upper Body + Abs)

* e.t.c, e.t.c, e.t.c :faint:

We have a busy weekend ahead as my DH is deejaying today and tomorrow and the girls have practice for the patriotic musical we are having at church on Sunday.

That's about all from here. Have a great weekend!:hug:

Hi, Tracy. Congrats on getting in your workout - way to go, girl! I hear you on the frustration with the weight. I weigh 100 pounds more than you do, and have been trying unsuccessfully for the last several months to lose some of it. It is difficult to hang in there, but we have to keep trying - we just can't quit! I figure at least I didn't gain any more, and maybe if I keep tweaking what I'm doing and getting great suggestions from other DIS'ers, I will start to see more success. Plus the exercise is so good for us, even without any weight loss involved, so keep going - you're doing great!

It sounds like your weekend will be just as busy as mine - when do we ever get to slow down???? Try to get some rest if you can. Have a great one!

Susan

Great WI Tracy - well done :)
Hope your busy weekend leaves some room for fun too ;)

Thanks Susan and Tracey.:hug:

We had a pretty good weekend. My DH had two weddings to deejay and got $80 in tips! We added that to the Disney fund!:banana: The girls had their musical at church on Sunday and did a great job.:goodvibes My DH gave them roses for their performance and my dad gave them $10 to buy themselves breakfast. After the musical, we came home, took a nap, took a walk, ate dinner, and watched videos of our girls first trip to WDW in 2003. My DDs were 9 months old and 2 years old!:eek: :cutie: :cutie:

We have a busy week ahead of us:
Today: Wall E and eBay
Tomorrow: Cleaning for DD5's birthday party (July 13th?)
Wednesday: Parade and Carnival
Thursday: Fireworks
Friday: DD5's birthday party at my aunt's house

My DH isn't deejaying this weekend, but may have to work anyhow. We'll just have to wait and see.

Today's Plan:

* Laundry

* eBay (3 items)

* Wall E :banana:

Weigh in: 230.4
Exercise Minutes: 1065

I am seriously thinking about doing a No Buy July here. I'm not sure what it will entail yet, but all the little expenses that we don't really need have a tendency to add up. I'll work on that today since tomorrow is July 1st.:goodvibes

Hope everyone has a great day!:grouphug:

Hey Wish Sis,

As usual, your journal could be my own life's story! I hear you on having periods of success and then periods of not so much success. I know we can do it though. We just have to keep trying. And I think I saw a two pound loss in there someplace, that is great news! Your exercise minutes are really adding up to help thos pounds get out of town! I hope you get your payment soon, that has to be frustrating. Did you like WallE? I can't decided if I want to see that or not.

Sounds like a busy week, I can't believe your dd is almost five! Bet you can't either;) .

Keep it up, I am proud of how hard you are working!:thumbsup2

Thanks Amy!:hug: I'm glad you're back, WISH sis!:hug:

We saw WALL E yesterday.... It was cute. The characters were cute and the visuals of the movies were amazing. There were some funny moments, serious moments, and cute moments. I found that I didn't get as attached to the characters as I usually do (i.e. Toy Story, Cars, e.t.c.) and my DH and I both thought that they could have expounded on the storyline a bit more. As of now, I would probably give it 2-3 stars out of 4. I want to see it again to catch the things that I may have missed, but will probably wait until it comes out on DVD.

Today's Plan:

* Plan DD5's birthday party

* Plan our No Buy July challenge

* Finish laundry

* Clean a corner of the living room

* Walk or workout

Weigh in this morning was a bit disappointing for me: 231.2
Exercise minutes June: 1125

That's about all from here....Hope everyone has a great day!:grouphug:

Hi, Tracy. Sounds like you guys had a great weekend! Congrats to your girls for doing such a great job in the musical. I am looking forward to seeing Wall-E, although I don't know when I'll make the time. I might have to wait for the DVD to watch it, myself!

You know, I was thinking about what you said in an earlier post about how hard it is to lose this extra weight and keep it off. Take a look at your to-do lists. Every day they are a mile long, and when you post about your weekends, they are always full to bursting, too. I find myself in exactly the same spot - I don't have small kids, but my life is SO busy and there is never time to get everything done that needs doing. I know that, as wives and moms, we need to take care of ourselves so we can take care of everyone else. But I think that's easier said than done - SOMEONE has to take care of everybody else in the family, right? SOMEONE has to do the laundry, make the meals, clean, run errands - it can't just not get done. And if your DH and DD(s) are anything like mine, even though they're willing to help, the primary responsibility is still yours - so even if they're helping out, you still have to be there making sure stuff gets done and coordinating it all. Plus, we spend time working to help make ends meet (whether outside the home or within it). I tell you, it's exhausting for me, and it leaves precious little time and energy for exercise and meal planning. Not only that, but I think stress plays a major role in weight gain and makes it extremely difficult to lose the extra pounds - and I don't know about you, but I'm super stressed all the time. I guess the point I'm trying to make, in my usual long-winded way, is that maybe people like you and me are doing better than we think. Even though we're frustrated at our seeming lack of progress with losing weight, maybe we should celebrate the fact that we haven't CONTINUED to gain weight and are doing our best to exercise as much as we possibly can. We ARE concerned about our health and we're doing as much as we can do to be fit and healthy. Then again, maybe I'm just full of hot air.:rotfl2: It wouldn't be the first time I've been accused of that!

Anyway, I think you're doing great - keep going with the exercise! Hope you guys have a great holiday weekend. I'll check in next week!

Susan

Happy summer, Tracy!!!

I'm glad to hear you've had lots of nice moments and family time over the last few weeks.

I'm sorry to hear your DH is struggling again with slow-paying contractors. How frustrating! Sending lots of prayers to get that quickly resolved. At least a little extra money found its way into the Disney fund. It's coming up soon!

Keep your chin up and keep taking care of yourself. The weight may be stubborn, but it WILL come off!

Thanks ladies.:grouphug:

Susan~ I've been thinking a lot about what you said and it really makes a lot of sense. Thanks for sharing!:hug:

Happy 4th of July!:banana: I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful weekend!:goodvibes

Things have been good here. We've gotten our grocery shopping done for the next two weeks, we've been working on my DD5's birthday party, and we've been cleaning and de-cluttering the house. That will continue into the weekend.

I took a walk this morning and it felt good.:goodvibes I will do some abs and weights later on today.

Have a great weekend!:grouphug:
