Today has been kind of a long day. We didn't really get a chance to recharge our batteries this weekend. We had too much going on. It looks like this week will be busy too. Did I also mention that TOM is here?:eek: Ugh!:headache:

Since I don't have a whole lot of energy, I'm going to spend the rest of the day planning. I'll work on menus for the week, my DD's birthday, and homeschooling for the upcoming school year. I may also try and tweak our Disney plans and budgets as well. I'll try and finish up laundry today and maybe take a walk this evening.

Hi Tracy, it sounds like you are exhausted! I hope doing some more sedentary things yesterday helped. Just hang in there, you have had so much going on and then the shock of the police officer's death, is just a lot to handle. I hope today was a good one for you sweetie!:hug:

Yesterday, we managed to clean out the garage. That was a lot of work!:eek: I also mowed the lawn yesterday.

Today, the only thing that I have planned is that I will work with the girls on their phonics and reading. Other than that, I have nothing else planned. Maybe some laundry....

Tracy -- Yesterday does NOT sound relaxing, missie! Then again, I think I have come to the conclusion that a dynamo like you never rests. :hug: I am so proud of you for getting down into the next "decade" on the scale (and right before TOM, too! :thumbsup2 ). Keep up the great work!

I did have a water filled Wednesday, it finally rained here! Can I thank you for that good Karma? My lawn certainly does. ;)

Cleaning out the garage and mowing the lawn all in one day. You really are a glutton for punishment!

I am so thankful that the weekend is finally here!:banana: It has been a long week for us. We didn't have much of a chance to recharge our batteries last weekend and I think that's what made this week drag on so much.

We don't have much planned for the weekend. We'll probably hit some garage sales (need to eBay for Disney $$$$) and we have DD's birthday party on Sunday. (I can't believe my baby is turning 6!:eek: ) We also need to pick up some curriculum for this school year as well. Maybe I'll do some lesson planning this weekend, but only if I feel like it. ;)

I'm glad that July is almost over. It has been a tough month financially due to two different sets of property taxes being due at the same time. It's hard to stay on budget when contractors don't pay my DH on time. :( Here's hoping for an awesome August!!!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

P.S. The scale is at 230.6. :( The darn thing is really frustrating me!:headache: I would like to be in the solid 220's before we go to WDW in September. I may need to make some exercise and eating goals for August to accomplish that.

We did a lot of relaxing, my DH put his foot down and avoided some extended family drama, and we had a couple of heart to heart talks.:love: My DD6 had a wonderful birthday celebration today and we capped the day off with a visit to my grandma's house with some family members from Florida and California. It was a great weekend!:goodvibes

I need to start getting into homeschooling gear here. The kids in our local school district begin school on August 19th and I try to have my kids follow their schedule. (That way, they are off of homeschool when their friends are off school.) I still have some curriculum to pick up and I need to get letters to our superintendent ready as well.

I need to get OP with food and exercise....The scale is not budging and that is frustrating me. :headache: I may set up some goals for August. I'd like to be in the solid 220's before we leave for Florida.

Well, hats off to your dh! Avoiding family drama is one of those things that takes some skill, determination and personal strength. And a good heart to heart talk in the mix is a good thing too! So glad you dd had a nice birthday. Can you belive school is about to begin? Every year it seems like the summer just goes that much faster. Good luck getting all that homeschooling prep and paperwork done. And you can do it with getting into the 220's by WDW. That is my same goal! We can do it!

Not much going on here....Just feeling frustrated about my lack of weight loss. :( I've been journaling a lot lately and have identified some patterns of emotional eating. If I can replace emotional eating with healthy habits and learn to handle my emotions better, than I think I will start losing weight. At least I hope I will. ;)

No real plans for the day....Just gonna go with the flow today!:goodvibes

Hi Tracy, I am right there with you. I feel like I just can't catch a break with this weight loss thing. That is wonderful you are journaling and identifying some emotional triggers. That is really where the battle lies, right inside our hearts and heads. Keep your chin up and keep trying Wish Sis, it's gonna happen!

Hi, Tracy! You are definitely not alone with the emotional eating and other effort-defeating patterns. We've all heard the suggestions, but wouldn't it be nice if we burned off stress or unhappiness or worry or anger by going for a walk instead of eating? Easier said than done, especially when schedules are so busy.

I hope you have fun setting some goals for August. I learned at weight watchers that it is better to set behavioral goals rather than result goals. For example, instead of "I am going to lose 10 pounds this month" you'd say "I am going to stay within my WW points and journal all my food." I hope you find something that is comfortable for you. Maybe an exercise-related goal will help with the weight situation, but it will also help you become even more fit for Disney! :cool1: I KNOW you can do it. Look at all you accomplish every day in your life! You are an amazing person, Tracy! :hug:

It's been awhile since I have posted....Sorry about that.:flower3: August is a very busy month for us so I may not post as often as usual.....

We had a great weekend! The best part of the weekend came yesterday....My DH earned a $100 tip from deejaying so he took me to get some clothes yesterday. We went to the Lane Bryant Outlet and I got 4 shirts, 2 pairs of shorts, and a pair of capris. As I was trying on clothes yesterday, I started in on my negative thinking about my weight and how I look. After a few minutes, I was reminded of how much God loves me as I am. Not when I lose the weight, but right now. That stopped the negative thinking in it's tracks!:banana: This is a victory for me because after trying on clothes, I usually dwell on the negative for days. It affects my mood, my behavior, and of course, my food choices. Not this time!:cool1:

Today's Plan:

* Laundry (Does it ever end????)

* Buy curriculum

* Straighten up the house

* Disney planning

* Journaling

I wanted to mention....I am reading a book right now called When Food is Your Best Friend & Worst Enemy by Jan Johnson. It is a wonderful book that has provided me with a lot of food for thought. (pun intended ;) ) I'm learning some news ways to deal with my emotions, rather than stuffing them down with food. :goodvibes

First off, a belated happy anniversary - I don't know how I missed that the first time around! I hear you on the financial stress issue - we just had a large, unplanned expenditure this past weekend and it is very stressful, but unfortunately life is like that sometimes. We just have to get through it as best we can!

Congratulations on beating the negative thinking. You're right, we are wonderful just like we are and losing (or gaining) weight has nothing to do with what great people we are! You are consistently working towards a healthier lifestyle, and that's what counts. The book sounds interesting - I may need to check it out, because I have lots of trouble with emotional eating, too.
