Toystoryduo’s Journal: Baby Steps are the Key... Celebrate Each Victory!

Thanks Tracey!

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. We did a lot of relaxing and enjoyed not having so much to do. It was great!:goodvibes

This week is a busy one for us. We're having my DD5's birthday party on Sunday, my DH works and deejays on Saturday, and we are having our garage sale this weekend as well. We'll be busy cleaning, organizing, planning for the party, and at the end of the week, hopefully selling!:thumbsup2

Today's Plan:

* Workout/Walk

* Phonics/Reading with the girls

* Getting ready for garage sale

My grandma is back in the hospital. She has fluid in her lungs and a UTI. If you could send any prayers her way, I would appreciate it.:goodvibes

weigh-in: 232.6:scared1:
exercise: 298 minutes

That's about all from here....Hope everyone has a great day!:grouphug:

Tracy -- I am so glad to be caught up on your journal. Your workouts are amazing! You should be so proud of yourself. Over a THOUSAND minutes in June. That is absolutely awesome! Seriously! How many people do you know IRL who spent that much time on improving their fitness instead of sitting in front of a tv? I am so happy for you that you are carving this time out for something so important. :cool1:
I missed your positive spirit while I was away. I am going to be sure to check in here more often for the inspiration you always give me. And I am keeping your DGM in my prayers, sweetie!

Thank you, Cam!

Just wanted to post....My DH called about an hour ago and the contractor finally paid us!!! :cool1: :yay: :woohoo: Thank you, Lord!!!!:goodvibes

yay for the contractor
I hope your grandma gets well quickly

Thank the Lord! I am so glad you got paid. I am keeping your grandma in my prayers. I know how stressful that is when someone you love is sick, I am thinking about you Wish Sis.

Don't let the weigh in get you down. Its probably water and will be gone in a few days. Just keep up those workouts, you amaze me with those!

Hi, Tracy. Congrats on getting the payment you've waited for so patiently - I know that's a load off your mind.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother - hope she is feeling better soon.

Hope your yard sale goes great this weekend and you make lots of $ - I'm going to have to put one together some time soon, I'm thinking, so I may be asking for tips from you!

Have a great day!

Susan

Thanks ladies.:grouphug: We have been super busy with party planning and the yard sale. We made $71 in our first day! We didn't do any advertising except Craigslist so we're pretty happy with that.:goodvibes

Tomorrow, we have day 2 of the garage sale and then we start getting into birthday party mode. Whew! We'll need a break on Monday!;)

I just got the July/August edition of Today's Christian Woman magazine and there is a whole section on beauty called Rediscover the True You. The articles are titled:

When Beauty is a Beast: How We allow Society to Determine Our Standards

Wrapped in Gold: Our Beauty is a Reflection of God's Brilliance

Breaking Free: How We Can Love Our Own Identities

Living in the Land Where Beauty is Queen

Beautiful by Design: Why We're Lovely at Any Size

These articles are so well written and have spoken to me on so many different levels about self esteem and how God sees me. If you have a chance, you may want to pick up a copy of the magazine at a store or at the library.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!:grouphug:

Hey there! Yay for finally getting paid!!! Whoo Hoo!!!:woohoo:

:wizard: for your grandmother!!!!

We had a yard sale last weekend and did well. I hope you have success at yours as well!!!

Have a great weekend!
Stacie

Thanks Stacie!

We had a successful garage sale here! We got rid of about 50-60% of our stuff and made $116 in the process! We didn't have any big ticket items, just small stuff. Thanks to eBay and our garage sale, here's what our budget for our September trip looks like:

Package: $839.60/$839.60 DONE
Car Rental:$90/158
Fuel: $195/$350 (Still waiting on the Shell cards from the Dockers promotion. Once we have those, this category will be done!:thumbsup2 )
Tips: $0/$100
Mousekeeping: $0/$25

Total: $1124.60/1472.60= 76%

That's not counting the $$ my DH will make deejaying tonight, the rebates I am waiting for, another eBay auction, and our change jar total! We may actually have this trip paid off by the end of July!:woohoo: (Please remember, we are also saving for December that's why this trip wasn't paid off sooner.)

Very exciting!!!

Today, we will be getting ready for my DD5's birthday party. Her actual birthday isn't until the 27th, but we wanted to have her party now while our family is here from Florida. My DD is getting super excited! She would rather not clean though. ;) :lmao:

With all the cleaning and preparing, I don't think I will get a workout in unless it's a walk later. My DH leaves to deejay at 3:00 p.m. so I need to get him working as much as I can. ;)

That's about all from here! Hope everyone has a great weekend!:grouphug:

Tracy, I need to find that magazine, all those articles sound very good. I used to get that magazine at my church library sometimes, I need to do so again.

That is great you made that much on your garage sale! And with the deejaying, change jar and rebates, you should indeed be paid off soon! I am impressed at how well you do with your budgeting. I need to take a page from your book!

Have a great bday party for dd5 and a great rest of the weekend!:)

Thanks Amy!

Today has been a long day of cleaning and party preparation. I just finished a 40 minute dance and weight workout. I feel more awake, but my body is done for the day. I think I'll do some reading, take a shower, and head for bed. I don't have it in me to wait up for my DH tonight.

That's about all from here. Have a great Sunday!:grouphug:

Hey Tracy, so was today dd5's bday party? I hope it went fabulously! Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday and I am sure today was as well. That is great you got a workout in despite being so busy with the party prep! Way to go!!:thumbsup2

Thanks Amy!:goodvibes My DD5's party went wonderfully yesterday! She loved having everyone over for her special day and had a great time playing with her cousins. The food was good, the conversation was good, and everyone seemed to have a good time.:goodvibes I am very thankful that things went so well.:thumbsup2

My DH didn't get home until 8:00 a.m. yesterday from deejaying. They deejayed a wedding about 3 hours from here and the van broke down! Needless to say, he did a great job yesterday only having one hour of sleep! (He was the BBQer at the party yesterday and he had to work after the party.)

Yesterday morning, we found out that one of our local police officers was killed during a traffic stop. :sad1: He was part of the K-9 unit and my kids knew him from open houses and from community events. He was only 33 years old and leaves behind a wife and a 3.5 month old daughter. It is such a tragedy.:sad1: Please keep his family, friends, fellow officers, and the community in your prayers. :grouphug:

I'm not planning anything for the day ahead....We're pretty tired from yesterday.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!:grouphug:

Tracy that is so sad about the police officer :(
Glad DD5 had a good birthday :)
you amaze me how organised you are at saving funds for your WDW trips!!!

Thanks Tracey.

Yesterday was a good day. Let's see:

1) My DH has extra work this week. Although it requires quite a bit of travel, it does mean extra money. He went to work and came home safely.

2) With the help of the ladies at Sunshine Rewards, I figured out why I wasn't getting credit for freebie offers. My Shoebuy credit went from pending to paid yesterday and with all the freebies that credited, I made $17.09 yesterday! :yay:

3) DD5 got her Happy Birthday gift card from Toys R Us.

Today's Plan:

* Walk or workout

* Try and get more credits at SR

* Straighten up DD5's bedroom

* Make a list of all the Christmas presents we have so far

* Sit on the porch and read while the kids play

* Work on phonics and reading with the kids

That's about it for the day. Please send a couple of prayers my grandma's way as she has surgery today to clear the artery in her neck. Thanks!

Oh yeah....I weighed in today and the scale read 229.2. It's the first time the scale has been under 230 in well over a month and a half! :cool1:

Also, we're under the 60 day mark for WDW!!! :woohoo:

Hope everyone has a wonderful, water filled Wednesday! :grouphug:

Hi, Tracy. I hope your grandmother does well and recovers quickly. It is so very hard to watch someone you love go through a procedure like that, but just remember she will be healthier when it is done!

Congrats on getting under the 230 mark! I wish I was there - keep going!

Woo-hoo on your 60-day Disney trip mark! I bet you guys are just as excited about your trip as I am about our Vero Beach trip in September!

Hope you have a great day!

Susan

Thanks Susan.

Not much going on this weekend...Today, we go to CVS and the Children's Place if my DH doesn't have to work. He does have to deejay this evening. Tomorrow is our 12th wedding anniversary. We've been together for almost 19 years and married for 12 of them. I can't believe how fast the time goes by.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!:grouphug:

The very, very long week we have just experienced has finally hit me. :sad1: I am overwhelmed with sadness for the family, friends, and fellow brothers in blue of the local police officer that was killed in the line of duty last Sunday. We went to show our support by lining the funeral procession route yesterday. To see all of the police officers there was such an amazing show of support. There were over 150 K-9 units there alone. (Josh was a K-9 officer.) It is such a tragic situation on so many different levels. You never think that something like this is going to happen in your hometown in small town America. When it does, it hurts like hell.:sad1:

Rest in peace, Josh. Know that we'll be praying for Holly, Thea, the rest of your family and friends, your brothers in blue, and your K-9 partner, Bagio.:grouphug: We'll miss you, Josh!

Oh Tracy, I am so sorry about your police officer. That is just a tragedy and so needless. I never understand these things... I think that is so touching that you and others lined the funeral route. I am sure that meant so much to his family and fellow officers. I am keeping your community in my prayers.

I am proud of you Wish Sis, the scale shows how hard you have been working. You are so close to WDW and with all the working out and healthy eating, you'll be feeling energetic and ready to conquer those parks!

Again, I am so sorry about Josh.
