Totally Last Minute Spring Fling! No DDP, Tons Of Pics! COMPLETE!

Joining in!:wave2: Seems like you had some great impromptu dining experiences so far. I can't believe you tossed this trip together so quickly...and I'm slightly jealous that this is your third time back this year!! Looking forward to the rest.:goodvibes

Wow I think I got drunk off reading about ur hubby's drink @ DTD!!!:lmao: Extra 151. [Ouch!! :headache:The thought is making my head hurt since I just had a bachelorette party last night. Only had 3 beers a shot & a LARGE glass of champagne.:confused3] It sounds like you guys had a very nice time!! I WILL def. keep this spot in mind! GREAT tip on getting to the Boardwalk. I have never been inside the S&D so that will be a perfect opportunity to sneak a peek! Good idea!!

I was at a bachelor/bachelorette party a few weekends ago, so I know the feeling. :lmao: Yeah, there was a lot of 151 in that drink. He got the same drink from there a few times during the trip, but the first one was the strongest. That bartender wasn't messing around! :rotfl: That Margarita Bar was such a great place. A few times when we were there we saw a musician singing and playing the guitar right next too it, so it was great to sit and listen to him with a drink in hand. S&D really is beautiful. It makes me want to stay there on a future trip. Definitely worth checking out! :thumbsup2

Oh, man, every single thing you got looks and sounds delish! That toffee cake?!

And I'm definitely going to have to stop by the Magarita Bar on our next trip ;)

I think they should put the little dancing banana guy next to the description for the toffee cake on the menu. It's very fitting.:banana:

The Margaita bar was fantastic. Definitely check it out on your next trip!

Wow I thought I'd seen all the food in Disney World but somehow you found quite a few things that I've never gotten! :) I think the ones I am going to have to try on the next trip are the American Dream, the Waffle Sandwich, and the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake! :) Thanks!

A lot of the food we tried this trip was new for us too. I love to try new things, but sometimes it hard to try something new in place of something you know that you love. I must say, this trip the new food really worked out for us. I have too many things I like now! I need to take a 3 week trip just to fit in all the food I love!

Great reviews, another fan of ESPN nachos here!

Thank you! :goodvibes Oh man, those nachos are good. I could go for some right now! :thumbsup2

Thanks for joining in! :goodvibes It really worked out going on this trip with very few reservations. It's going to make me rethink my strategy for next trip. I can't believe how many times I've been this year! It's the most for me by far. Hopefully we can all have a few years like that every now and again :thumbsup2

Thanks for the great report!!!

Thanks for reading along! :goodvibes

We were up super early this Monday morning and at Hollywood Studios 15 minutes before the park opened. We were on a mission today. Ride TSM and Star Tours as much as possible. As soon as the park opened we headed straight back to TSM and grabbed a FP and jumped in line. We waited about 5 minutes and we were on! (Side note: CMs were putting people in 2 different lines before you hit the staircase and as we walked through our line on the right we had a woman on the left hand side of the stairs grab hubby as he walked by and scream "Line Cutter!" right in his face. Not cool lady. Get your facts straight before you scream at total strangers.) Anyway, hubby beat me at TSM. Also not cool. But I was close! I have proof!

P1000771.jpg

I will beat him one day!

On to the food. Before we walked over to Rock 'n' Roller Coaster we stopped for breakfast. For me it was Starring Rolls Cafe all the way.

P1000776.jpg

I perused the cupcakes and since there were no new or seasonal cupcakes I went with an old favorite. The Red Velvet Cupcake!

P1000779.jpg

Here is a shot of the inside.
P1000780.jpg

Yum!!!! Love the bits of toffee on the top and the hunk of cheescake in the center of the frosting. Delish!

Since we were apparently recreating the same breakfast we had last trip, I took my cupcake with me and followed hubby over to Fairfax Fare so he could get his breakfast.

P1000781.jpg

He got the Egg and Cheese Muffin with Sausage.
P1000778.jpg

And then for good measure he threw a cheese danish in there too.
P1000777.jpg

He's a sneaky one.

He loved his breakfast! He loved that b-fast sandwich last trip and it was no different this time. The addition of the danish made it even better. Gotta love that WDW cheese danish!

Now that we're full of junk food let's go ride a roller coaster! :lmao: By the way, did you know that May 14, 2012 was Roller Coaster Day? I do, know why? Because the men behind us in line for RnR told us, no screamed at us, and everyone around us to have a Happy Roller Coaster Day at least 987 times. :confused3 They. never. stopped. saying. it. They even kept saying it during the ride. What is up with the people in this park today? :lmao:

Despite some very strange people (myself included :lmao:), we had a great day in HS and on our way out of the park in the afternoon I spotted a cute mug in the window of one of the popcorn stands. I was pretty thirsty and so I looked to see what the price was for the mug instead of just the soda. A soda was $2.75 and the mug with soda was $5. I'll take one!
P1000786.jpg

How cute is this?! I love these mugs and use them every day back at home to take coffee to work, so for an extra $2.25 it was a total bargin.

Up next... The first of many meals at WPE this trip!

That cupcake looks soooooo good. I'm dying for one now.

I had no idea that was it was Roller Coaster day! LOL! Sounds like those guys were having tons of fun.

I love the Disney mugs. I always try to buy at least one. They are great investments and I love to reuse them.

Love the update.

Now, I will start by saying that I am still a firm believer in Margaritas and Cupcakes becoming their own food group :lmao: Just sayin'...:thumbsup2

I was so excited to see your lunch review at LTT. We are doing a late lunch in September at LTT. It is our first time eating lunch there and our first return visit since 2005. We had a subpar experience there at dinner during the summer of '05 and haven't been back since, but we are believers in giving a restaurant a 2nd chance (even though it has taken us 7 years to do so-:rotfl: )
Everything looked so yummy and you have sold me on getting the turkey meal. It looked delicious!!

And I have to say, those waffles...YUMMY!! My mother-in-law and I were drooling over those waffles. We are definitely trying one for breakfast or lunch while we visit MK.

Keep up the fabulous report. Loving every minute!!

After we got back from HS we checked movie times for AMC 24 and there was a showing of Avengers in 3D in about an hour. That should give us just enough time to hit up WPE for a late lunch/early dinner (linner?, dunch?) and then get over to Westside for the movie.

We made the 10 minute walk over to Marketplace and arrived at Wolfgang Puck Express.

P1000793.jpg

We know what we like here, but we took one last look at the menu in case something new or different caught our eye.

P1000792.jpg

We placed our order inside and sat down at a table with our number and waited for our food.

P1000787.jpg

We did actually decide to try new things this time. Hubby got the Spicy Chicken Pizza with roasted red and yellow peppers, chili oil, mozzarella cheese, tomato, leeks, crushed chilies, and fresh cilantro

P1000788.jpg

He liked it, but didn't love it. He was a little disappointed that it wasn't actually spicy. He said it tasted really good, but just wished it had a little heat to it since it had the word Spicy in the title.

I was STARVING and I wanted something really filling, so I decided to try the Chicken Alfredo with Peas, Bacon and Parmesan.

P1000790.jpg

Extreme close-up! Whoa!

P1000791.jpg

Sorry for the Wayne's World reference. It won't happen again. :lmao:

This was amazing! I loved the fact that there was crispy bacon in this dish because it added a nice texture and a good smokey flavor to the dish. The portion on this was huge too. I was glad I decided to try something new, although it was hard knowing that Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf existed in this same building.

Once again, an amazing meal at WPE. I could seriously eat here for every meal!

Up next... A rainy day treat!

I know! What I wouldn't give for one of those cupcakes right now!

I think maybe those guys behind us in line had discovered the Margarita Bar too! :lmao:

I am so loving my new Disney mug. It's nice to add a new one to the rotation!

I am so with you on the Margaritas and Cupcakes! :rotfl:

So glad you're giving LTT another chance. I really love it there! The Freedom Pasta and the Lamb Stew are really good too.

The waffles were delish! You have to try one!

Thank you so much! So glad you are enjoying it!
:goodvibes

That sounds like a plan! :thumbsup2 But for now, I'll just say this about my wedding that didn't happen... in-laws. That says it all right there! :lmao:

I hear ya :thumbsup2

That breakfast sandwich/muffin at Fairfax Fare looks so good - mind you, so did the cupcake. Guess the two places we'll be hitting on our DHS day ;)

Sorry your DH was disappointed with his pizza at WPE - it looked absolutely delicious. I couldn't look at the pictures of your pasta after reading the 'p' word

Those have become the only 2 places we hit in HS. The food there just isn't thrilling me anymore. I've gotten sick of Sci-Fi after eating there about 20 times in my life. We didn't have the greatest experience at HBD a few years ago and none of the other TS places appeal to me so that leaves us with snacks and CS locations on our HS days.

Really? No peas? Thats a shame. :sad1: I hate peas on their own, but I love them in pasta dishes. Not sure why.
:confused3

I am loving every delicious description and photo of your report! Thank you for taking the time to share. I am SO looking forward to trying The American Dream and that pasta dish at WPE!!!!

So...........what's next?

I love the tower of terror mug! I never get to have a cupcake at DHS, I am either too darn full or they are closed. One of these days :lmao:

Just read your last two Food Reports and seriously, the Freedom Pasta and the Lamb Stew look awesome. Now I am torn :confused3 ;)

We  WPE and eat there on our arrival night every trip. I saw the bacon-wrapped meatloaf on one of your previous food reports and did a cartwheel (everything is better with bacon, IMHO). I had the pasta you had the last time we were there and loved it. Yes, it really is that good :D

Nice job!! Loving every food porn minute of your report!! popcorn:: :goodvibes

I was scrolling through the post and DH walked behind me and saw the pizza from WPE. He said that it looked yummy and asked if we were eating there. I said no, that we weren't eating there. He told me that he might have to eat there while I was shopping. He finally has some input! LOL!

I'm glad you enjoy WPE so much this trip will be our 1st time there. We plan @ least 2 or 3 trips since everyone on the boards rave about it.

Q for you: It's $5 for a cup inside all the parks? How much are the refills on them? I might have to buy a couple.

Cupcakes for breakfast!! Only in WDW!!

I definitly have to try some of the WDW cupcakes! The Sausage muffin sandwich looked good though too!!

WPE looks wonderful! Unfortunately there are to many other places I want to eat at!

What sort of experience did you have at HBD? Hubby liked Mama Melrose and I liked 50's Prime Time so am not sure where to go on our DHS day.

I was in PA for a doctors appointment today and went searching a Trader Joes and found one in Ardmore. I was surprised and happy to find a Farmer's Market next door with the Amish pretzel place in it and open on a Tuesday. I immediately ordered a steak pretzel only to find at 12:30 they hadn't started making them and only had very old, dry looking breakfast pretzels left. I'm determined, I will find them (and maybe some donuts) on Thursday.

Thank you for making my day - I work right down the street from there but have never been - now I know where I need to go asap! :) (Small world, too!)

Having seen so many photos and descriptions of the red velvet cupcake lately, I just know that it's meant to be. We need to get acquainted. :lmao:

Anyway, I love your report!
