Top Secret Pixie Dust! A Surprise 13th Birthday PTR! NEW! TRIP REPORT LINK PAGE 220!

Very busy -- I have lots of plans swirling around in my head, but I just haven't had a chance to put them all down on paper. This week was our state testing (CRCT), and I was exhausted every single day. I know I was asleep by ten most nights and some nights I was asleep by nine. Hopefully, now that school is in the homestretch, I can focus on planning and posting those plans. I have lots of them! :thumbsup2

Ooooffff, what a week!!!! :surfweb: Glad that it's over and summer is close-what is the countdown?

I am soooo looking forward to hearing your plans! I also loved the last update with the childhood pictures. Please please please give us more when you find them!!!

Have a great wekend! :yay:

YUCK! Those storms I heard about those on the radio and wondered if that was you! So true about that testing stuff, it does wipe you out, especially if you are in charge of organizing stuff, I know! So I understand the early bedtime!!! Hope you enjoy Oceans! We are going to the movies tomorrow, too. Might be the Pet Dragon one, in 3D, though! We'll see! :thumbsup2

Hope you caught up with some rest this weekend!

hope you made it thru the storms. We were under tornado watch and waning just about all day. It got pretty bad but no damage in our immediate area. Good luck with all of your end of school year activities.
Hey, I assume you will be going to disney in 2011. If you had to preorder only ONE guide what would it be?

Oh I love the old stuff, how wonderful that your mom saved it, I just love it.

Adorable picture even with Duck boy in it.

Duck boy.

:lmao:

$8 for a ticket to the Spring Fling. Wouldn't that be nice?

I hope you made it through the storms ok, after your week of testing talk about the last thing you needed!

Another Monday.........................................

Only 18 days of school left ----three Mondays left to get through! :)

May your week speed by!

Hope you survived the storms!!!!! How was Oceans???? Do you think Megan could handle all of it? We took her to see Earth, but there were LOTS of questions that came along with that one.....just wondering!!!!

Hey Jackie good luck with the storms. Hopefully they will not be that bad. We had thunder & lightening a few nights ago but nothing bad. I am sure down there with the warmer weather they can get intense.

It was pretty scary in Mississippi and Alabama, but it calmed way down by the time it reached us. Whew!

Oh I want to see Oceans too!! But this is our last weekend before our trip so we will not get to see it yet. Heck I have not even see Earth yet.:) It is in my Netflix que but I think a certain husband of mine keeps moving it down the que.

I haven't seen Earth yet. I will be telling you all about Oceans in the next update -- it was a beautiful film.

I totally get the exhaustion at night. I am on the computer ALL day at work so sometimes at night I do not go near mine. Have a great weekend.

I have all the pictures ready now -- I just need to write the actual update.

Ooooffff, what a week!!!! :surfweb: Glad that it's over and summer is close-what is the countdown?

Can you believe that I haven't been counting down???

Thanks! I have lots of plans to share soon. :thumbsup2

YUCK! Those storms I heard about those on the radio and wondered if that was you!

The worst of them were in Mississippi and Alabama -- fortunately, by the time they reached us, it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been.

So true about that testing stuff, it does wipe you out, especially if you are in charge of organizing stuff, I know! So I understand the early bedtime!!!

So glad it is behind us until next year!

Hope you enjoy Oceans! We are going to the movies tomorrow, too. Might be the Pet Dragon one, in 3D, though! We'll see! :thumbsup2

We did enjoy it -- I have a couple of stories about it to include in my next update. How was the Dragons movie?

So glad you came through the storms okay -- it was pretty scary stuff on Saturday.

I love the Unofficial Guide the best, but I also like The Complete Guide to Walt Disney World, the Passporter, and the Birnbaum guide.

Thanks! I wish they still had ticket prices like that these days!

Testing and then storms on the weekend was not ideal, but we made it through all of it! Thank goodness!

Hey Jackie!
Hope work slows down for you now that testing is over.

I hope so, although you know how kids can be towards the end of the year.

Another Monday.........................................

Only 18 days of school left ----three Mondays left to get through! :)

Hurray for only three more Mondays!!!

Happy Monday :goodvibes.

Thank you! Every Monday is one day closer to summer! :thumbsup2

We did survive, Jen! Thanks!

Um, my two loved Oceans, but there were a couple of scenes where we all hid our eyes. They were very short scenes though, and I think I was more bothered by them, then Chelsea and Connor were -- the entire film was just breathtaking.

I realized the other day, that I never shared the egg dying and Easter basket pictures I took a few weeks ago.

After we went to the zoo, we went to my mother-in-law’s for egg dying. She had also, coincidentally, made Jello eggs. Connor had a great time shoving Jello eggs into his mouth and pretending to be a gorilla. I wish I had taken a picture because he was quite a sight with entire Jello eggs crammed into his mouth.

Connor was more than happy to show me his egg creations.

When I asked Chelsea to show me her eggs, this was the look I was given.

Here are the baskets the Easter Bunny filled. You can see Chelsea’s new Vera Bradley make-up bag in her basket, and the Star Wars Legos left in Connor’s basket. Sadly, all that chocolate is only a memory now.

A couple of weeks ago, Miss Anita Wigd sent us a package. For anyone who has received one of Miss Anita’s packages, you know, it is better than getting Mickey Mail. We had a great time checking out and playing with the goodies.

Pins for our collections.
I just love the Flower and Garden Festival pin with Tink and the teapot.

Cinderella coaches for pearls – there is one for Chelsea and one for me. Can’t wait to head to Japan and get pearls to put in them!

Look! Look! It’s a wishing bracelet for more pocketbooks. Speaking of which, did you know the Dooney and Bourke purses can now be ordered from the Disney Store website? I have been drooling over them this morning!

Anita also included a pair of Buzz Lightyear swim trucks for Connor, and the loan of the book about the Wicked Queen in Snow White.

She is so generous and made our week with her kindness!

Yesterday, we headed to see Oceans. I wanted to make sure we saw it the opening week since Disney is making a donation towards the preservation of the coral reefs for every ticket sold until April 28.

Well, I walked into the movie theater with two typical kids and walked out with two environmentalists who were ready to join Greenpeace and head to the arctic. Connor even said he was willing to stop taking showers in order to help save the oceans. The ultimate sacrifice for him, I am sure. ;)

The movie was beautifully done and absolutely breathtaking in spots. It was also absolutely heartbreaking in other spots. There were three times we had our eyes hidden because, quite frankly, I can’t handle (nor apparently can my children) death -- even as part of the natural world. Ideally, I would like my nature films without any violence, but I know that probably won’t happen anytime soon. I will say that the parts, while traumatizing to me, were quickly over. I find myself wondering, though, how the filmmakers can just stand there filming and not interceding. I couldn’t be that impartial of an observer. Bottom line, we really did enjoy Oceans.

Have you guys been watching the series Life? My boys have watched it so I figured that Oceans might just be a repeat. I'm curious to know if it's new footage or not.

Glad you guys enjoyed it. :thumbsup2 We're very big into conservation and "going green" these days and I spend a lot of time discussing things with the boys.

I'm the same way, Jackie. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm afraid that some of the death involves a baby creature, and I sure can't take that. :sad2:

My sister had brought Earth with us when we drove to DW last month. I could tell whenever anything was about to be killed because my girls would both gasp. I'd look up in the rearview mirror, and they'd have their eyes half covered and shoulders drawn up!

We saw "Oceans" last week and LOVED it!!! I didn't find the "death" parts to be too bad. Madison is THE most sensitive little girl and cries at everything. But, she didn't cry at ALL during the movie. I could have watched those dolphins and whales swim all day long. They were so beautiful!

Was that a rice krispie basket Connor had? Brillant idea! I so stealing that!!

Has anyone seen "The Cove" (about Dolphin killing in Japan)?? I saw parts on Oprah and just that little was hard to watch. I'm ok with the "circle of life" death of animals but at the hands of man for no good reason is the worst.

Yes. Sully and I both watched The Cove a few months back. It is very disturbing to watch a certain part. :( But, I had no idea that this was done and I have to say that I will never go to a Sea World again knowing that they get some of their dolphins from there.

I read your update on the exact same day it was written......:lmao:.....I can't believe it. I love the easter baskets. Just perfect! I like the vera makeup bag. Very cute.

The movie sounds interesting. I enjoyed hearing about it. I'm not good with death on the big screen either.

Wigd sent you guys some lovely trinkets. How nice! What a great surprise.

So how many more weeks of school do you have? Just curious, cause I remember how early you went back last summer. Me thinks you should only have 3 more weeks to go.

What a great package Anita sent you! I am sooooo buying that Tink F&G pin next week :thumbsup2

I really want to take the boys to see Oceans too, I just don't know when I will have the time - maybe Wednesday after school, hmmmmm I'm going to have to figure something out.

What a great surprise from Anita!

Thanks for posting your review of Oceans. I usually avoid nature films/shows due to the fact that DD13 and I tend to become too emotionally involved! :lmao: It sounds intriguing, though...
