Top Secret Pixie Dust! A Surprise 13th Birthday PTR! NEW! TRIP REPORT LINK PAGE 220!

Easter candy would be so good right now.
The F&G pin is so cute!
I think I'll take my nephew to see Oceans this weekend.

I walked into the movie theater with two typical kids and walked out with two environmentalists who were ready to join Greenpeace and head to the arctic. Connor even said he was willing to stop taking showers in order to help save the oceans. The ultimate sacrifice for him, I am sure. ;)

I find myself wondering, though, how the filmmakers can just stand there filming and not interceding. I couldn’t be that impartial of an observer. Bottom line, we really did enjoy Oceans.

Glad to hear it had such an impact on the kids! Part of my draw to science is my passion for the environment so I love to hear things like that.

When I taught environmental science, we watched quite a bit of the Earth series and a number of my students asked the same thing. It's hard to remember that the filmakers were just there as observers and had to let nature do it's thing

I want to see Oceans, but probably won't untill it comes out on dvd. I hate the death/killing scenes in nature movies. I hide my eyes too!

Your pictures from Easter are cute so glad you remembered to share them with us.

My children can definitely attest to the fact that Miss Anita Wigd's packages are awesome and super sweet!

I am thinking about taking Brooklynn to see Oceans. She is one day going to work at Animal Kingdom or be a vet or both and loves those kinds of shows on TV. She actually handles the natural deaths better than she handles some of her Disney movies. She hates when someone else is sad or left alone and her lip starts to pucker up.

Hope your Monday was as good as a Monday can be! Can't wait to see you and Chelsea on Saturday!!!!!:banana::banana:

Great Easter pics!!

Love all the goodies from Anita. Love the Cinderella coach for the pearl & I am not a pin person but love the F&G pin!!

We are watching the Life series & taping it. We really are enjoying it & will have to see Oceans soon.

Loveeee that new makeup bag you got for Chelsea! I knew that the cupcake prints were on sale and it was sooooo hard for me to not go over to the website and buy, buy, buy!

Glad you guys liked Oceans...have you seen the topiaries of the dolphins in Epcot? They're so cool and made me want to see the movie!

Great update, CP!!! AND I must say I love all the goodies you got from WigD How special! the Pins are too cute! Oh, and I had to laugh because my DS7 got the same lego set in his basket... ;) Perfect size to fit!

I can't deal with the whole nature and death in the wild thing, either. The trailer for the movie looked amazing like Earth did.

Great update, and I am so excited for you that you can practically taste the end of the school year!!! YAY!!!!:goodvibes

I always love your updates and pictures Jackie! That Chelsea is a pip, huh? I like the rice crispy basket too. Now I'm going to have to add Oceans to my list of things to do. How did Chelsea like her VB? And what great gifts from Wigd!!

I was thinking about you on Saturday with those storms  ughhhh I would be a (rice krispie) basket case :rotfl2:
What a lovely surprise from Anita!! Love those pearl carriages :goodvibes
I have a hard time with any of the "natural death" scenes too....I cringe when I catch a glimpse of anything like that on tv :sad1:
What a cute basket for Connor!! I haven't made rice krispie treats in ages....when I was younger I always tried to eat it when it was warm and had not yet "set up." ;)

Tracy

Love the package... and the pins! There is one remaining chocolate bunny here... I don't dare touch it, or it would be gone without any pause on my part. I need the girls to find it in the pantry again, so we can share!

Can I ship you all my Easter candy?!?!?!? Megan is SO not the candy girl....will love to a eat a piece or two when she first gets it, but then totally forgets all about it and we are left with a ton!!! Tom and I avoid it pretty much, so you can NOT believe the amount of candy that we have around here. It kills me to think I need to throw it out---I wish there was somewhere I could send it to!

Miss Anita Wigd sent ya'll some very nice things! I like the bracelet and the pins. :goodvibes

Hannah and I went to see Oceans on Sunday and really enjoyed it. She didn't seem to be too bothered by the death scenes. She has been talking alot lately about animals losing their habitats when people build houses and even quotes the percentange of animals that die because of it. I'm thinking they've been talking about this in class. They had an in-school Field Trip on Earth Day. There's a museum in Charlotte called Discovery Place (http://www.discoveryplace.org/) and some people from the museum came and talked to them about clouds and temperature since that's what they've been doing in science. On the way home that night she talked non-stop about what they'd done/learned that day.

Megan is SO not the candy girl....will love to a eat a piece or two when she first gets it, but then totally forgets all about it and we are left with a ton!!!

Glad to know my DD isn't the only one! Last night I finally threw out the rest of her Easter candy because it was unwrapped and had gotten stale. She didn't care at all! :sad2:

Have you guys been watching the series Life? My boys have watched it so I figured that Oceans might just be a repeat. I'm curious to know if it's new footage or not.

Glad you guys enjoyed it. :thumbsup2 We're very big into conservation and "going green" these days and I spend a lot of time discussing things with the boys.

We're watching Life here...and would have seen Oceans in DTD last week...had it not opened the DAY after we left. Darn Earth day timing. :rotfl: I'd love to hear the comparison.

Was that a rice krispie basket Connor had? Brillant idea! I so stealing that!!

Has anyone seen "The Cove" (about Dolphin killing in Japan)?? I saw parts on Oprah and just that little was hard to watch. I'm ok with the "circle of life" death of animals but at the hands of man for no good reason is the worst.

I am so stealing that idea too, it's adorable. UGH, I've heard about The Cove, no interesting stealing that.

What a LOVELY package from Anita!!!!!!

A couple of weeks ago, Miss Anita Wigd sent us a package. For anyone who has received one of Miss Anita’s packages, you know, it is better than getting Mickey Mail. We had a great time checking out and playing with the goodies.

Anita also included a pair of Buzz Lightyear swim trucks for Connor, and the loan of the book about the Wicked Queen in Snow White.

She is so generous and made our week with her kindness!

Yesterday, we headed to see Oceans. I wanted to make sure we saw it the opening week since Disney is making a donation towards the preservation of the coral reefs for every ticket sold until April 28.

The movie was beautifully done and absolutely breathtaking in spots. It was also absolutely heartbreaking in other spots. I find myself wondering, though, how the filmmakers can just stand there filming and not interceding. I couldn’t be that impartial of an observer. Bottom line, we really did enjoy Oceans.

Easter, a Miss Anita Wigd package, and a DisneyNature movie! What a nice April you have had! :thumbsup2

All of the gifts are very cool, of course. The bracelet is cute - and very appropriate for so many of you.

We're going to see Oceans sometime after we get back from WDW. I loved Earth, so I am looking forward to this one, too. I wish we could take our students to see it for a field trip, but the times don't work out for us.

Man, I am lost!!! How did I not know you had a PTR!! Ugh!! going now to catch up! :)

thanks for the sweet update....

love the yummy rice krispie basket...have not had jello eggs in a l-o-n-g time :thumbsup2

That is so great you got to see Oceans...

The Easter bunny was very kind to the kiddos! What neat things they received. :) I also have a very HARD time watching death in nature films. I just cannot do it. I'd be fired on my first day as a filmmaker. ;)

WOW! What a super DIS friends you have! Loved it all.

Very cute eggs and "baskets" that your kids made. I haven't done that in a few years. I need to remember it for next year. How funny that she made jello eggs after your morning with the gorillas! So how did Chelsea like her Vera that you agonized over?

Love the Easter baskets! So fun! Love the gifts from Anita too! That is just so sweet!
