Hi fellow DVCers--

We're looking at booking our first DVC trip to HH next year and am trying to decide whether or not to try February?

Obviously the weather won't always cooperate, but I'm just trying to get an idea of what we can expect. Maybe Tommy or some other folks who visit HH regularly can help me out with some examples of what the temps were like when you were there. We'll be a party of 6 (4 kids age 8, 5 ,2, 6mos. I'm not worried too much about ocean swimming, just want it to be warm enough to enjoy the outdoor activities without the kids freezing the whole trip!

Or should we just wait til Easter break the beginning of April?

Thanks for your help!

Dean

As with most areas that far north, you may have 70º temps and you may have 50º temps. Nights will be cool and the ocean too cold to enjoy a swim, but the pools are heated and there are still plenty of activities to enjoy.

If you go expecting cooler weather, you may be very pleasantly surprised!

Good Luck!

We went to HH in Feb 98. The day we arrived it was 52 and very windy. It was so cold that night they canceled the campfire. But the next day it was in the 60's and it reach the 70's toward the end of the week. We actually swam in the heated pool.

There are a lot of things to do at the resort and on the island no matter what the weather. We enjoyed it so much that we actually became members on that trip.

My experience was similar to Fenceman's, as we went from 2-10 to 2-14 this year. A few days were warm and a few felt like late October, but we had fun each and every day and fell in love with the resort. We became members on that trip and are returning the final week of August. You should have no problems with activities, including swimming, as the pools are heated. Obviously, the weather is a bit of a crap shoot, but the lower point cost offsets that. Good luck with your planning!:smooth:
