Today's podcast............

one day the gun laws are going to change in this country, and 50 yrs from now they are going to be saying really you could buy an AK47 back then thats crazy,we are not asking to give up your guns we are asking for stiffer laws to get a gun, our government needs to step up and stop worrying about things like online poker and fantasy sports and start worrying about real issues I also like to say to the dis team how proud Iam to have them in my life that show was POWERFUL today

I thought it was Important for the team to have this show

Both Kevin and Pete were most vocal and brought up interesting points

Felt so bad for Ryno as he was absolutely devastated

John's voice was calm and soothing

Oliver was visibly angry and seemed so frustrated. He is so eloquent and really wished he spoke more during show

I appreciated Corey's presence as he
Provided a counter point in gun control

In all, the part when Pete breaks down and says this podcast is all he has to voice his frustration was an absolute tear jerker

I waited to watch this when I got home and could give it the proper time and attention it deserved. This was a discussion that needed to happen. I was out of town when this happened (I live about 35 min away from Orlando) but I just needed to know the team was safe. I cannot imagine what you guys are going through. I wasn't able to make it to the prayer service last night in person but watched it live on Bay News 9 and it was wonderful to see the community standing together. Hearing Victoria Kirby York speak was inspirational but I actually think Ryno said it best, "It's not fair, it's not how it should be. Every year there is another letter or another symbol added to the lesbian and gay community. It used to be just lesbian and gay. And now it's LGBT+Q. And all I think is, we welcome everybody. And it's not the other way around." While I agree with Ryno's sentiments regarding loving each other and treating each other like a decent human being, I'm ashamed for the people who haven't taken a lesson from this horrific loss of life. Many lives have been lost and many others are touched - family members and friends who are mourning and still many more that were wounded. This cannot be for nothing.

I am just now seeing the video. I applaud the entire team, not for sharing their view, but sharing their emotions.

Kevin raised a great point about gun owners. Any time something this horrible happens, gun nuts come out in force, but the responsible gun owners sit on their hands. An AR-15 is a civilian version of an M-16 chambered with .222 rounds instead of 5.56 mm (do the math, same thing) and can easily be modified (kits are legally sold at gun shows and do not require any background checks). This is a weapon meant for war, not home protection. Even if the police officer in the club wore a vest, this weapon would have killed him.

This tragedy will prompt three things; Upscaled security for a few months, a push for gun restrictions, and a surge in the sale of assault rifles by people who are afraid to lose their right to buy these weapons.

As a gun owner I was very impressed with how the entire team discussed this. There was some humor to lighten things up, but mainly the show was somehow both emotional yet unbiased.

I was at the shore in Wildwood NJ earlier this week, and mentioned to my wife that all flags were at half staff. It is good to see that people across the nation took notice, even if it is only symbolic. It made me think how our nation has changed. A shooting at an elementary school gets headlines in any year, but today a shooting at a gay club earns just as much respect and attention.

Just now watched. I'm so very happy that all of the team is safe. However, I am so very sorry that this even has to be something that's always in the back of your mind. I wish I could hug you all and please know that I'm sending as much love as I can from miles and miles away. :grouphug:

I finished about 1/2 of the episode this morning before I got to work (believe me, I did not want to stop listening), but I agree with what others have said. Very brave and I am so glad that you have this outlet to let your voices be heard.

My heart goes out to the entire team. All I wanted to do was give Ryno a huge hug. My heart hurts so badly for everyone affected.

I'm so glad I waited until my children were asleep to watch it. Very moving and thought provoking. No matter where you stand on the gun issue, it is powerful.

I made sure as well; I have talked to my daughter about Orlando a bit, and she's old enough to have watched with me ultimately, but I'm still glad she didn't.

I knew anything directly about Sunday would be raw, and Ryno I am sending you extra hugs (and thank you Kevin for doing what all of us wanted to do!). I have had gay neighbors and friends almost my entire life; I never knew that any of them might be living in fear...I just never thought about it. Listening to Kevin talk about his "driving while gay" tickets and Ryno talking about his sticker and t-shirt....that hit me as hard. How DARE people hate in that way. I just can't even articulate more than that.

Thank you, team.

It may sound silly, but I didn't realise how much I cared about you all until I heard the news waking up here in the UK on Sunday morning. I appreciate your honesty in your sharing this week, and send all my love and prayers to all those affected in Orlando and beyond (with special hugs for Ryno).

Although I am not gay, I very much understand this as a Jewish person. Just a couple of days ago, my daughter and I were sorting through reusable grocery bags as she just got her own car and wanted a few bags to keep in her trunk. Some of our bags are from the Union for Reform Judaism. I offered those to her but she declined out of fear of being targeted for being Jewish. It's awful but sadly it happens every day.

None of us should have to live in fear or debate which t-shirt to wear or which bumper sticker to put on our car or which bag to carry to the store or which antenna topper to use based on what others might think or do when they see it.

I haven't finished listening to the show yet. I'm about halfway in and, as expected, it is phenomenal. Kudos to the whole team for doing it and sharing with us in such a raw and personal way. It really adds a depth to the reality of what happened that you just can't get from a TV news report. That's the best way I can think to articulate what I mean right now.

Agreed. Strange as it may sound, I've probably paid more attention to what Kevin has tweeted about the attack since it happened than I have to any major news outlet's reporting of the attack.

I'm right now trying to listen to the episode. Part of me wants to thank them for doing a show to say they are unharmed and are mostly ok. The other part would rather they just said no show this week due to the tragedy. I don't really like when people sessionless a tragedy like this, like when all that was on the news for weeks on end was september the 11th. Yes I feel bad for those involved i just don't need a constant reminder of it for days on end.

Yes. So much this.
Thankfully, I've never been discriminated against because of my religion (or if I have, it's been subtle enough for me not to notice). But I've had random strangers make anti-Semitic comments to me while I'm walking down the street - and this is in NYC, not some random place where nobody's ever met a Jew before. Anti-Semitism is something that's always in the back of my mind.

We all have things that make us different. Whether it's our race, religion, sexual orientation, how we look, how we act, some of our hobbies ... someone could choose to discriminate against any one of us for reasons that make no sense. I hate that some of us live in fear of that discrimination, and that some members of the team (and probably some people here) have experienced that discrimination.

It's 2016. We shouldn't have to be afraid to be who we are.
I hate that this happened. I hate that this person targeted people who were just trying to have a good time and be themselves. But I'm really glad that team spent some time talking about it and shared how they feel with us. It may not make a difference in the grand scheme of things, but it made a difference to me.

Bless you all. Thank you for forging ahead with this podcast. It was touching to watch and I'm so sorry for the loss and devastation in your community.

While I may not have agreed with every point made, I appreciate you putting yourselves out there during this awful time. As I learned after the awful Smith Mountain Lake incident last fall, it really is so different when evil tromps through your own backyard and your community. My prayers are with you all in the hard days ahead.

Honestly, you have the option to turn it off or not watch. He warned you in advance this is what they were going to talk about. If you can't understand WHY they NEEDED to have this discussion and why they needed to use this outlet to voice their frustrations you don't understand how close to home this hit. Orlando as a community is devastated right now. We had something happen here, in our town, that you only see in the news and sympathize from far. Surely you feel bad, but when it is in your community your sense of security, normalcy, beliefs are upheaved in every way imaginable. I am so sick of people being upset that people are voicing their opinions and heartache over something that has seriously devastated all of us in Orlando.

I noticed that as well. I was glad to see here in Texas flags are all at half staff.

I watched the show again today since the last few minutes were cut off yesterday.....again my heart breaks for all of them, especially Ryno. I wish I could just hug them all....my company has our flag at half mast as does a lot of businesses around here. Such a horrible thing....I do hope the politicians take notice this time and do something....I mean seriously do something this time. This is America..no one should have to live in fear.
