I have decided I need to MOVE my body! I am tired of being big. I had a baby 11 week ago, and my 4 yrd old DS keeps asking me when my tummy is gonna go flat. My 7 yr old DD keeps asking when I will be skinny :( OF course, my loving DH tells me I am just as beautiful as ever, but I am sure he would'nt mind me being lighter. When I had my 4 yr old DS I went on the CAD diet, and was doing some type pf aerobic tape everynight. I dropped about 40 lbs. Then I went back to work. Found em all, then some, and more now that I had a baby. So, any ideas advice? I have 4 kids here and it is very hard to find free time. If I knew for sure it would work, I would dedicate myself to a 30 minute workout tape everyday. BUT all I have is an hour tape. I just cant see having an hour of free time everyday. I can do this (internet) because t is something I can do sporadically. But like this evening I got in about 10 mins of a tape, and the baby started crying. OK need encouragement and ideas :D

Congratulations on your new baby. I wish that I had some advice to give you.

But I just want to wish you well.

You can do it.

God bless you, best wishes, and encouragement, RaySharpton:)

Welcome to Wish!!!

The first thing I want to tell you is NOT to set your expectations too high for yourself. You really seem to have alot on your plate. I remember when my kids were 3 months old...the only thing I could ever think about was sleeping.

I would suggest doing one thing at a time. Start by working out for 15 mins daily. Then increase your stamina at 15 mins. Than go to 20, 30 etc. This will give you body time to ease into it, and as the baby gets older....you will have more time. (do the kids go to school?).

Whatever you do...don't get discouraged. Having a new baby can be taxing, (especially if you are nursing) and raising 3 other children....well that can suck up all of your time too!! Hang in there and we will be here for you if you need us!!!

Let us know how it works out for you!! Good Luck!!

Congrats on your baby and for deciding to make a positive change in your life. Can you do your exercise when your husband is home so that you won't be interrupted? Another idea is to take walk. Even if you have to take the baby while your husband or a friend stays with the other kids?

Good luck and we're glad you're here!!

It is great to hear from a new mom. Congrats on your new baby. My baby is 9 months now. I also have a 3 year old. Before I went back to work I put the baby in the exercise stroller and I roller bladed all over the place. My toddler rode her bike in front of us. Not much but better than watching GH all day.

Now I am back at work and my Mom watches the girls. I started at Curves. The workout place that is great. It is a 30 minute circuit. Go at your own time and own pace. You are in and out. With travel time you are talking 45 minutes total. Not to mention a break from the kids. Another suggestion may be a community school night class in yoga. That is after hours when everyone is in bed.

Like Tracy said, take it slow. Alot on your plate. I am frustrated because I just stopped nursing my baby 2 weeks ago at 9months. My body will not allow me to drop weight. Eventually it will have no choice. I control my body it doesn't control me.

Let me know how it goes. Feeling the baby fat blues with you.

Well you are just FULL of determination, so I applaud you for that! :) Now stop listening to your kids asking you when your tummy will go away and when you will be skinny again! :) Man, kids will say whatever is on their mind, won't they? ;) I know if I'd had a baby 11 weeks ago I wouldn't be as enthusiastic sounding as you, so good for you! Don't push yourself too hard right now. Do whatever is comfortable for you! Just know that every little bit helps, so any time you can comfortably move around, do it! And reach for some healthy foods and drink lots of water! :) Your body will shrink back down to normal with your help and lots of patience!

Good luck and enjoy your new baby!

Congratulations on your babe and making a determined effort to lose the weight! I have now lost the weight from my last (of 5!) babies. And she turned 9 in March! You have it right, moving is the key, and every little bit helps!

Debbie - I just lost ALL the weight from my youngest, who will be 7 in Decemeber!

Now you already know that you will succeed at a new healthy lifestyle when you are making these changes totally for yourself, right? not for others, any others!

So now that you are on that page with us - you are sooo in the right place! Go to your library and get some Walk Away the Pounds videos/DVDs. The one mile is only about 15 mins, 2 miles about 30 mins. While you're there browse around and find some other workout videos that interest you and fit your time limitations. Try them out and if you find one you really like, buy it! I have one called "Quick Fix" that has 8 different yoga/pilates workouts that are only 10 mins each. If you do a 10 min session once or twice a day for starting, that is awesome!

Or put that baby in a stroller and walk walk walk!!

Another idea for free time - set your alarm 30 mins before your kids get up. Ease into it if it's early, but you will find you bounce through the day with more energy when you start out boosting your metabolism with a workout :)

C'mon Princess, you can do it! YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!

Welcome to WISH.........this is the probably one of the best tools on the web. Everyone here is so helpful and encouraging. I agree that the Walk Away the Pounds tapes are good. They have some that are very short and should help you fit in the time. Good for you for making this decision.

Good luck,
Melanie

You are amazing. 4 children, one is only 11 wks, wow. Finding time for yourself must be a challenge sounds like a family exercise session is needed. I love everyone's posts, I love the encouragement. I'm almost at my pre-baby weight after 2 years but still need to lose more. I'm finally really motivated after reading all of these success stories. You sound like you are too. Take it day by day and remember we're a click away:D

Hi dzneprincess I'm so glad to see you here on WISH. Congratulations on that new baby. I love babies. I was blessed with just one baby and he doesn't seem interested in making me a grandmother yet. I suppose this sweet baby already has a full complement of grandmothers? I have been reduced to borrowing and/or renting grandchildren, it is very sad ;)

I think you have just the best attitude. I'll bet you can find a way around this exercising obstacle, could your 7 year old sit with the baby in the same room where you are trying to work out? That might work.

I have a WATP tape that only takes 16 minutes and one that takes 30, you could invest in a new workout tape. You've earned a new workout tape, don't you think?

You have your motivation and plan, already. Will you be taking the WISH challenge, too? I sure hope so. If you will be joining us now will you post to our Challenge thread too? You will find it HERE. Once you post there you are an official WISHer and can add our member clipart if you want.

I'm just so glad you decided to visit WISH and I hope to see you here everyday. WISH has a wonderfully helpful support group made up of men and women following all kinds of eating plans. The support group helps me through everyday and I know you will find a lot of help here too.

Thanks everyone for your warm welcomes! BOY Am I tired today! LOL I didn't even think I did much with the 10 mins I got in last night, but today I am tired. Also, could be that the baby was up every 2 hours last night. He must be going through a growth spurt, because usually he is only up at midnight ( my hubby catches this feeding) and then at 3am. ( I get that one) I am very proud of myself. Since making this decision yesterday afternoon at lunch, I have had nothign to drink but water! Yeah for me! I am a COKE aholic, I cant drink just one LOL. I got onto amazon last night and ordered the walk away the LBS DVD's and Pilates for dummies. I like that they are only 20 and 30 minutes. Then I am able to get it in where I can, AND seems like the kids can do it with me. At least I hope. I want to thank everyone for theor encouragement, I must admit it feels good too read it! Silly, huh? I am not planning on doing a workout today, NO Time, as we are going to the movies in a bit. BUT Definitely, tommorrow! (Pinky Swear ;) ) I am determined to get this stuff off of me.
