Thx y'all, I also love to sew children's clothes, makes soaps & I enjoy painting, I dabble in a little bit of everything:stir:.

So,I had my first mini FREAK OUT today. I lost my voice over the weekend screaming and cheering on DS11's football team in the playoffs (they won :cheer2: by the way.) I made up my own reality that if I were to go on to Round 3 and have a telephone interview, I wouldn't be able to talk. Hopefully, this clears up in the next few days. I need to cheer my DS11 on in the championship.
BTW, good luck to everyone!!

Its nice to see we're turning you to the dark side! A good freak out now & then, just makes you feel alive!:wizard:

Good luck to everyone on the East Coast. I can't even imagine!

3. How many vacations have you planned other than your own?
I can't say I plan vacations for others. I definitely have many conversations and offer ideas and suggestions, but I can't say I'm the person who does all their planning. As for those who I speak with regarding Disney vacations, many!

Hi everyone! :)

Just checking in to see how all us northeasterner's are doing! We are hanging in there, the winds are getting worse, trees are bending quite a bit and we are getting pounded with rain, but power is still on as of now. I have heard ramblings that there are a few towns close by that have lost power.

Be safe! Have a good night :thumbsup2

I was too young to remember. I grew up in Southern California and visited Disneyland at least 3-5 times a year with everyone who came to California to visit us. Everyone who lives in the Northeast, please try to keep us informed of your safety!:thumbsup2

Happiness going your way!:wizard:

Good Morning waiting room pals!!! :grouphug: I hope everyone in the NE is safe this morning, and those without power are keeping warm and dry. We've been following along on Directv's "hurricane information channel" and I have to say the photos and videos coming out of NYC and NJ are scary! I just hope everyone either evacuated or got to high ground.

I thought I'd give everyone a laugh this morning at my expense! ;) Yesterday I made a last minute ADR for our WDW trip this weekend. I've been so preoccupied with the moms panel search I almost forgot we were getting ready to leave town! :hyper: Well, last night after dinner I finally had a chance to sit down and check my email again and the first one I saw said: WALT DISNEY WORLD... :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: I screamed out loud to my family "THIS IS IT!!!" .... they all came running just as I saw the last bit of the email ....

DINING RESERVATION. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I totally punk'd myself!!!!!!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

You'd think after all those other Disney emails last week I'd have read the entire subject line before screaming. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Three days til WDW so I better get packing!!!! Have a good day gang!!! ::yes:::thumbsup2:cool1::cloud9:

We are quite fortunate and only lost power for a couple of hours and only seem to have lost a few branches. It looks like most of our town is still without power so feeling particularly lucky. My thoughts and prayers are with those south of us and hope everyone in the waiting room is safe.

:) I think all of us have had a panicked moment or two when we see any email from Disney these last few days. But how lucky to go to WDW! Maybe you'll get some great news while you're there. :goodvibes

Hey everybody, just checking in. I hope you all are okay after last night. Very surprisingly, we did not lose power even though many in our area did. All the schools remain closed today and people are encouraged to stay home and off the roads. I can't believe the extent of the damage this storm has caused!! My thoughts are with all of you who have been affected by Sandy! Please try to check in at some point to let us all know how you're doing.

HAHA I loved this, you punk'd yourself...so totally sounds like something I would do...we really are two peas in a pod, E! LOL!

We were extremely lucky - between Sandy and a blizzard warning to our NW, all we really sustained was high wind and cold rain. Everything seems normal this morning.

Checking in...my thoughts and prayers are with the east coasters!

Thanks for the warm thoughts!!

1. Other than WDW, what interests/hobbies do you have?
I volunteer at my DDs school, help with her playgroup, recently have been helping with political campaigns, and I love to cook and bake.

2. How old were you the first time you went on a Disney Vacation?
I was 3. The only thing I remember about it was being scared to go on SE because my parents kept calling it "the golf ball" and I was convinced it would be hit with a giant club once I got inside it.

3. How many vacations have you planned other than your own?
I have no idea...I'm always helping moms from playgroup and sorority alumni plan their first trips...I'd say at least 15 different trips.

4. If you went to college, what was your major, and what do you do now?
I had a double major in Communications and Political Science

5. If you could go back to school, what would you want to do?
I've often thought about going back to get my teaching credential so I could teach high school social studies, but it's not a great job market for that right now. If it ever gets better, I'll probably do it.

6. What is one thing you have on your "bucket" list?
To buy my dream home. Our small starter home has been on and off the market for almost two years with no luck. It's getting frustrating because we really have outgrown it.

Erika -- that is completely something I would do! Very funny!

I hope everyone is starting to recover this morning from that terrible jerk Sandy. Hopefully we'll get a few more check-ins this morning.

OK, here we are again! Maybe today's the day??? But I've been thinking all along that it wouldn't be until 10/31-- hoping otherwise, but pretty sure it wouldn't be until mid to late this week. But one thing is for sure-- we're another day closer!

Erika-- that is absolutely hysterical. I would SO do that! And my family would STILL be laughing at me!

Hope everyone is safe, warm and in one piece! I'm always glad to seeing our Northeast friends checking in!

I'd love to go back to school for finance or accounting.

6)What is one thing you have on your "bucket" list?
Really? Only one thing? I guess my top would be to stay at Giraffe Manor in Nairobi, Kenya. I love giraffes second only to lions.

I love giraffes too! When I did the Wild Africa Trek in February, the giraffes were so close to our truck, we could pet them! (they didn't want us to, but a few of us did it before they said something) I have this awesome pic of one sticking her head right in the truck to say hello! I will see if I can post it later.

If anyone is looking for something new to do at WDW, I highly recommend the Wild Africa Trek, it is the most amazing thing I've done at WDW. They Keys to the Kingdom and the Dolphin Encounter were incredible too! :thumbsup2
