to Round 3...And Beyond! Moms Panel Hopefuls and Friends

Sorry to hear about your youngest!! hoping those steroids do the trick!!

Thanks, he is doing a little better. Still fussy and horrible cough, but the frequency of the coughing attacks are fewer.

I hope you are still safe and sound.

My guess is we don't hear for several more days due to the storms :umbrella:....they don't want anyone to miss the news! But, just a guess!:confused3:

So power went out at 2...hoping it will only be till tomorrow but doesnt look promising....I'll check in when I can, I am nervous about hearing and not knowing...lol...again pixie dust for the waiting room:tinker:pixiedust: and be safe!!

I just heard on CNN there are 768,000 customers without power! We are all thinking of you guys in the east :grouphug: hang in there and stay safe!

I completely feel the same way-I feel like I have now gone into depression mode- could have alot to do with the weather too! Just thankful I still have power! Hope we hear soon!

Laura

A bunch of people in my area are without power. We still have it for the time being, but who knows how long that will last!

I think they will send out the emails whenever they had originally planned to. I've heard on many different news channels and sites that people could be without power for days or weeks. There is no way the MP would be able to wait that long or know how many are still without power that they need to contact. My guess is, they will send out the emails within the next day or two and if anyone who has made it to R3 doesn't respond by the end of the week, they will try calling them or contacting them another way. Of course we are probably only talking about 30 or so people, so the chances that more than a couple of them will have no way of getting to email or a phone by the end of the week is slim.

I've got a friend in Ontario who has lost power already. How is that possible?

We're in Mississauga and have been without power since 6;00. We have no idea how isolated or widespread the outages are! Hope everyone stays safe, dry and warm!

OK...I noticed a couple questions on another thread, thought it would be fun so we can get to know each other better!

1. Other than WDW, what interests/hobbies do you have?
Scrapbooking, jewelry making, volunteering at Ds11's school and MIL's nursing home, fundraising for breast cancer research and advocating for the Go Red For Women Campaign

2. How old were you the first time you went on a Disney Vacation?
I didn't get to go until I was 15! I went with my HS marching band for Magic Music Days

3. How many vacations have you planned other than your own?
I am currently planning 8. I have done 97 this year. I lost count at how many I have done through the years.

4. If you went to college, what was your major, and what do you do now?
I majored in political science, headed for law school. I worked for the IRS for many years, but now I am a SAHM.

5. If you could go back to school, what would you want to do?
I would go to med school and become a pathologist or surgeon.

6. What is one thing you have on your "bucket" list?
I want to go to Italy, and visit the town where my grandfather grew up

1) I am a registered nurse on a very busy mother and infant unit and I also coach both Varisty Field Hockey and Varsity Lacrosse in my home town. It is these two sports that brought me to go for the TeamSport Mom!
2)We traveled to WDW every year when I was a child. We drove from Massachusetts the Keys and would stop at Disney on our way down. That would be a family of 7 kids- 2 parents- we would take two cars- at least a few of us would be sitting in the station wagon in the rear seat facing backwards! No seatbelts or carseat- crazy when I think about it now!
3)I plan about 10 vacations a year for my friends and coworkers- haveing them come home and say it was the best trip is what makes it all worth while!
4)I originaally went to school to be a teacher but then changed to be a nurse and never looked back. I played Field Hockey at a Div 1 school and I have always loved coaching- I did it right out of college then took some time off to have children and got back into it about 5 years ago-
5)Would love to be able to cut down on my hours at work but I absolutely love what I do- wouldn't change my profession
6)My Bucket List- Disney 1/2 marathon!

My friend is in Caledon East, not sure exactly where that is...

Last year they sent the emails on Thurs. Nov 2... So it might be a couple of days still. From experience, the worst case scenario is that if you lose power it will last only a couple of days. Rest assured that you WILL know if the emails are sent out. You will find out one way or another because you WILL check the DIS or your email at least once a day on your phone. It's just the way we are. Disney Addicts will find a way!!!

Not too far from here - maybe 2 cities north of us. Power came back on about 5 minutes ago, so we were in the "dark" for an hour. Still keeping the candles and flashlights close by...it's not over yet!

Sounds like fun! I'll give it a go :thumbsup2

1. Other than WDW, what interests/hobbies do you have?

I've got a friend in Ontario who has lost power already. How is that possible?

Good question! I am in Amherst NY - just south, and we don't have any power outages in our area yet. The winds are just starting to pick up now, but they are not too bad yet.

I hope everyone is staying warm, safe and dry during this storm! I am about to go bananas waiting for this email, I just don't do calm.

1. Other than WDW, what interests/hobbies do you have?
I make hair bows, wreaths and anything interesting I find on pinterest. I love curling up with a good book and a glass of wine. I do love to surf, but not close enough to an ocean to really do that anymore. I'm not sure I'm in enough shape to do that anymore.:rotfl:

2. How old were you the first time you went on a Disney Vacation?
I have been to Disneyland numerous times, but when I was 18, a freshman in college I saved my money to go to Disney World with some sorority sisters instead of Cancun. A lot of people thought I was crazy, but I still stand by that decision.

3. How many vacations have you planned other than your own?
I have really lost count. This year besides my own I have planned 12 and 1 Disney Wedding. I never wanted to be a wedding planner, but if Disney is involved I am definitely on it!

I want to visit every Disney Park (2 down) and stay in every Disney Resort.

1. Other than WDW, what interests/hobbies do you have?
I am an avid reader and a bit of a pop culture nut, so I watch a lot of movies (both at home and in the theater) and watch more TV then I should :rolleyes1 I also really enjoy yoga and go three times a week - it's the best stress reliever I've found outside a Disney vacation!

2. How old were you the first time you went on a Disney Vacation?
I was 6-years-old when my parents took me to Disneyland for the first time.

3. How many vacations have you planned other than your own?
Hmm, planning from end to end, probably about 10-15 a year, but I answer a lot of "one-off" questions that I don't keep track of. Right now I have two trips in the works, including a trip for a family visiting from South Africa. :yay:

1. Other than WDW, what interests/hobbies do you have?
I love to travel, especially to Disney! And I love helping others to plan their travel. I love to read and though I said I would never get one, I’m loving my Kindle Fire…

2. How old were you the first time you went on a Disney Vacation?
I didn’t go until I was 23 (I’m 50 now). Then I didn’t get to go again until I was in my late 30s. Now we are lucky enough to go at least once a year. Next summer, we are going to Disneyland for the first time, on our way to Aulani! I’m SO excited about this trip!!

3. How many vacations have you planned other than your own?
Wow, a bunch. I seem to be to “go-to” person when it comes to WDW. Families from DS10’s school know me as the Disney Mom and ask advice, which I love. I could talk Disney all day long!

4. If you went to college, what was your major, and what do you do now?
I have a BBA in Accounting. I was an Asst Dean for Research until DS turned 3 and then I became a SAHM. Now I work part-time at his school, in the office and I’m a part-time caregiver for my aging parents.

5. If you could go back to school, what would you want to do?
A teacher. It’s what I always thought I would be.

6. What is one thing you have on your "bucket" list?
Wow, a few things. Most of them are travel-related. I’d love to visit Australia, Italy, Germany, and in the US – I’d like to visit every state. I think I’ve been to about 30-ish so far.
