Do you try and have a surprise gift for Jackie?

I need to make a list of what needs to be done by when. I finally got Pat's appointment made. They are giving me a loaner so I won't have to stay there. The 90,000 mile checkup is a major one---translate to a big bill! But he is worth it!

Kitty---do you get to choose where you mystery shop?

I try to have a couple of things that she doesn't expect. I like the surprise part of Christmas.

By the time Curt gets back, he'll have to take the truck in for another oil change. He just took in it the last time he was home.

Yeah, there's a list of stores that need mystery shoppers. You choose which ones you want to do. As I said, I tend to do the grocery stores in my town and the next. They always need a mystery shop to be done. They usually reimburse $10.50 plus a shop fee. So I buy about $11 worth of groceries at a time and I get that money back.

For the bank teller assessment, I have to withdraw or deposit into my own account and just evaluate how friendly/professional the teller is. The shop fee if $30 for a five minute transaction!

I just had to pay my car's registration. Yuck. I hate necessities.

How much was he home to put miles on it?

Did they post the final standings for the dis NASCAR?

It's the work truck he'll have to take in. He has to get the oil changed about once a month because of all the driving. But this should be the last time he has to do it.

I should be getting my little sticker to put on my license plate...I also had car insurance.

Haven't the clerks figured out you are a mystery shopper Kitty?

I just got a platinum card from JCP! Every weekend I get a coupon...it's a shame they don't have more clothes I like! I usually wear Alfred Dunner and all they had in my size was short lengths...can you believe in women's sizes, they just had short lengths? I complained. I am about 5'4" and they are too short for me. I can wear the tops from misses but still need about 5 off for misses in pants. It depends on the style though.

See-one less hassle for Curt. I can see why he would be upset...like a demotion. I guess the boss thinks he can save some money...time will tell. They will see how much Curt really does.

I think they may have figured out that I am a mystery shopper, or else I'm just paranoid.

I have the opposite problems in clothes! Plus size usually means super-tall, I guess. Pants are always too long, and I"m too lazy to hem them. That's why I turned to skirts and dresses. No need to worry about dragging my hem around.

I used to use staples to make my pants shorter, but once I forgot and washed them. When I went to put them back on, I cut my leg on all the staples!

I'm off to bed...going to mom's for breakfast...she's got muffins!

Pants are usually too long but whoever was the buyer just goofed this season. Ever used masking tape to shorten? Not as painful as staples!

If I ever turn to pants, again, I'll break out the tape!

have a goodnight and enjoy those muffins tomorrow!

Good morning campers!! Can't believe I'm the first one on here, but I guess y'all were up late chatting...

I feel like I'm loosing money each month too with the cost of gas at 2.99! It went down to 2.95 at several places but I saw it at 3.01 yesterday. It's not this high in FL now.

Wow, and I'm complaining about 2.75 here...

Wendy, with that thinking, my great-great-great grandchildren won't have any snow! Last winter was absolutely brutal!

And it won't snow this month. I have my boy cousin staying with me, someone who could actually shovel snow for me. So, of course, there will be no snow to shovel.

Hey, whatever works to keep that white stuff away, I'll take it!

I'm finding it hard to find things that are a surprise for Jackie. Clothes have to be exactly what she picks out, including color.

Laura's the same way. I can't buy her stuff unless she's with me--she is so picky. And then she wears the same 5 outfits over and over and over and...

Gee, and all I did was sit at the computer and do some online shopping. :lmao:

Wait, I did order pizza but I did that online too.

Well, you ARE the online queen!

That sounds like fun MK. How do you get involved with that? Certainly sounds like something I could do here. You know, in all my free time...:rotfl2:

Kids have left to go to NYC with the ex for the day. I gave them their phones for safety reasons--they haven't had them since I got back from my trip in October. I told them they were NOT for chit chatting! Wonder how many calls will show up when I check the bill.

Meanwhile, I have DSis and DNiece here with me for the entire weekend and I am loving it! We're going over to have dinner with my parents tonite. Other than that, who knows? I just know it will be fun, because I'm with my DSis!

Evening Ladies.

JO ~ sounds like the extra money wasn't worth what they were putting Curt through anyways!

Ev, don't these babies know how fantastic a December 9 birthday is?

How could you, me & Donny be wrong!! :confused3

That sounds like a great plan--if you have normal kids. I don't have the luxury.

Is there such a thing???

HI!!!! How is my little Idol buddy BTW? Is she going to watch in January again?

Oh I'm sure she will...and will be wanting her friend Pepper to vote for her.

I always had the opposite problem...had to wear men's Levi's as a teenager because ladies pants were never long enough...they are much better now a days...I think they're making clothes for taller people.

Heading out to the town Christmas parade this evening...should be beautiful since there is about 6-8 inches of snow on the ground.

EV - Enjoy the parade!! You did get more snow than we did. We ended up with about 4-5 inches.

Kerrie - Aw, come on.... The 17th is a much better day than the 9th or 14th. Ludwig van Beethoven was born on that day. I think he trumps Donny. :rotfl2:

I have turned to masking tape to hem my pants a few times. :rolleyes1

If I ever turn to pants, again, I'll break out the tape!

I think this deserves a tag!

It snowed last night! I know not a big deal to most of you, but a big deal to us. :rotfl:. Only a dusting, but pretty cool.

Last year we got some "real" snow. I wonder if it will be a trend?

I'm finding it hard to find things that are a surprise for Jackie. Clothes have to be exactly what she picks out, including color.

Ha ha. My DD is the same way. I know exactly what she wants.

Ya'll must be older than you look, bless your little heart!

Ha ha. I am 42. I feel like I look every bit of it,but you can keep the "young" comments coming. :rotfl: ha ha ha.

I'm off to bed...going to mom's for breakfast...she's got muffins!

Yum!!!!!

I think this deserves a tag!

I agree!

Good morning ladies! I know the temps outside say its in the 30s, but I don't believe it. It feels like is below zero out there. But its still sunny, so I'll just climb under some blankets and snuggle with some kitties. Big ambitions, I know.

Ventured to the mall yesterday. I'm a creature of habit, I usually shop on Friday mornings, so it was weird for me yesterday! Almost finished up the list....just have my SIL and a little gift for younger niece. I bought a guide book to NYC for my cousin, rather thoughtful on my part I must say!

Big score of the day---formal gowns! Now, if I ever get invited to the Oscars, I'll be ready. Its so hard to find big girl formal wear that doesn't look matronly, so I had to scoop them up. One from JCPenney (which always reminds me of you, M!) is a black strapless floor length gown with white piping and a scarf. very fancy. I'm thinking of shortening it to tea length, because that's far more practical. Any missteps of stepping on my gown may have a b**b incident--and believe me, no one wants to see that!

Anyway, I got four gowns for a little over $100 dollars. At least I'll have a dress for next years awards season. Y'all know how I like to dress for the occassion.

Ev, how was the parade?

No snow here yet, but it was flurrying yesterday. Its pretty when its like that.

Wendy, did you check the phone bill yet? Did the kids enjoy their day in the city?

Popin' in to say Hi :wave2: and

Totally not ready for this trip.

Bopsmom...you're never truly ready for a trip! But its so close and I'm so excited for you and your family! Woo-hoo! Christmas at Disney is just so so special!

I spoke too soon. Its been snowing rather steadily the last few hours. Still pretty, starting to stick. And thus is begins. No more denial, acceptance is key.

Winter is here.
