TKers...8 is NOT enough!

Thankfully, I'm only interested in one guy's opinion. Well, maybe also my husband David Cook. And maybe that cute DirecTv guy.

I just don't want to have to wear those industrial strength undergarments. I have a hard enough time as it is getting into the ones I have.

Weekend was ok. Went out Christmas shopping in a real store. I spend so much time online shopping that I forgot how to dig through all the racks and bins to find the best stuff. Didn't take long to remember how. I am done with Jackie's gifts except for a couple of small gift cards. I made a major dent in my shopping this weekend even though I just got started.

MK, you'll be smokin when the girls change. They do take on a life of their own but in a good way.

Night Ev! Sweetest of dreams!

Wait...A life of their own?! That sounds so scary to me.

Congrats on getting the shopping done. Its such an accomplishment and it'll be so much fun to watch everyone enjoy when they open them on Christmas morning.

What are you getting DH? Boys are always the hardest for me.

This might sound bad, but Curt and I don't really buy each other gifts. Whatever money we would have spent goes into the vacation fund. And then it's used for some fruity, pretty drinks and a nice dinner. We do give each of the kids a set amount and take them out shopping. And they have free reign with that money to get whatever they want. Makes for some interesting gifts. :rolleyes1

Stop fretting about it. When the time comes, it will all be fine. It really isn't scary. I promise.

The school used to set up a "gift shop" where kids could buy gifts for their families. Mostly dollar store stuff, but it was really cute what they would come up with....

I don't usually get gift from my family, usually just gift cards. But I insist that BF and I get each other a little something. I usually get him food of some sort, can't go wrong with that. I told him just to put some money in my Amazon account for my Kindle purchases. This year BF's getting fudge and candy so far.

They do the Santa's Workshop here too. I usually give the kids money to get each other gifts. Those end up pretty interesting too.

I guess vacations have become our gift to each other. It just works for us. Though I could see food being a good gift for Curt. I could buy him 3 bags of Snickers and he'd be happy.

I really just like to see what the kids pick out on their own. They always give the gifts a lot of thought even if their ideas are out there. It just makes it even more fun.

It is so cute and it teaches them about the joy of giving, which is really nice.

Snickers is BF's food too. although tonight he was talking about brownies, so of course now I'm thinking about them too.

Better get to bed before I break the baking sheets out! Sweet dreams!

Morning ladies...

MK ~ I plan on getting DH an iDock/alarm clock. I believe I'm getting perfume since he texted me from the mall and asked what kind I wear.

Not much happening here but snow...it's very cold and blowing. Have to venture out later to do milk at the school and go to the post office, otherwise I'm happy here under a blanket with my laptop.

Morning ladies. I see a break in the bleak greyness out there and I'm running out there to take advantage of it to run errands. Its supposed to be the nicest day until Friday. Got about 2 inches of snow last night, schools were delayed 2 hours this morning.

I think I may be getting BF the most boring gift ever. But he wants one. Its a paper shredder. BF has a ridiculously high credit score and does everything to protect it. He's a bit obsessed about it. It comes in a big box so at the very least he'll be excited about it for a little while.

Happy St. Nick's Day!!!

Kids were up early at 5:30am ready to run downstairs and check their stockings. St. Nick left them each a book, various candies, a HUGE apple and a pear and Toy Story 3.
St. Nick brought me an adorable little ornament - THE FISHER PRICE SCHOOL HOUSE!!!! http://www.cmaspast.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=3274 It has a little bell that rings and everything. :yay: I was as giddy as Kitty during a sale.

I see I missed the b**b conversation.

The boys get money to shop at the Dollar Store to buy presents for the family. Then they come home to wrap them and give their gifts on Christmas Eve. IT is so cute to see what they buy and how much it means to them when you open it. I have a collection of Dollar Store nick nacks on my dresser. They are always asking me "Mom, isnt' that the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?" :lovestruc Awww - priceless.

DH and I have a tough time cuz we have Christmas and our b-days to shop for. So lately we've been putting that money towards vacation too. We'd much rather go on vacation then have material stuff.

MK, that sounds like a perfect gift for BF. I bet it will keep him entertained too.

I forgot to tell you, I got Livvie and Alexis Hello Kitty socks for their stocking. I also got packs of Hello Kitty pencils and I think markers. All from the Dollar spot.

D&D, that's just how we feel about Christmas gifts for ourselves. We'd rather spend it elsewhere. But the gifts from the kids are the best.

Kitty---I thought it was the cute FedEx man you were after? And I'm not worried...if anyone can do cute for the big girls, it's you! I saw Christmas Ty Hello Kitties at Halmark store today.

Rats---I just ate a candy cane kiss! YUM!!! Be still my sugar! Thankfully there's only 6 left!

I do love the idea of giving the kids money for them to spend on others. I remember shopping for the best buy.

I gave mom her air fare to FL for her present. I do want to get her gift cards to places to eat...she shares these with me anyway!

No snow here...had about 40 seconds of flurries on Sat!

ah, the joy of teenage girls....but I'm sure she'll shape up for a chance to hit Jamaica!
Hope springs eternal!!

How about something along these lines?

Please don't be offended by the plus-size...but if you have any sort of bust or hips, you may have to go up a size or two and get it fitted. I don't know why women's clothes never account for hips and booty!

Love the first one, and DD gave it her stamp of approval. I definitely do not want black--I look like I died and forgot to fall down! And don't worry about the plus size. If I keep eating my niece's cooking, I'll be a 3X by the time I have to buy the dress!:scared1:

OK idea people--DD is going to a Christmas party next Friday. She has to bring a grab bag gift worth up to $25 (so, like, $24-$25...:lmao:) What on earth should she get? This is a bunch of 14-16 year old girls. Special ed kids, so mostly on the immature side. I am so clueless, as DD is such a total tomboy, and what she would want would not interest most of them at all. Jo, what would your DD want?

Yeah! I'm glad you found something that you liked. I thought the price point was good too. Its a gorgeous dress. The color will look amazing on you!

Hmm...presents for teenage girls. I know they like lots of little things....so maybe a cute mirror, some lip gloss, or a change purse? How about a cool scarf?

LITC was kind enough to tell me that McDonalds Happy Meals have Hello Kitty watches! I went today, and while I didn't get a HK watch, the puppy I got (called Sugarbunnies) are really cute too....that would also be a good stocking stuffer!

Sounds like St. Nick was really good to you D! That ornament sounds adorable! Picture please! I had the Weeble house when I was little. I miss it so.

The casino's free gift this week is a car seat warmer. I'm re-gifting it to my Mom. She's gonna love it. They also gave me a free lotto ticket (not a winner) and a pastry (black and white cookie) for my birthday. And my free play.

Which I turned into $250! Yahoo! Now I may get an even nicer shredder for BF. Or else it'll just go into the vacation fund.

Evening! Curt's on his way home! :cool1: He was suppose to go somewhere near Cincinnati but they are predicting a bunch of snow for there. So he gets to come home for a couple of days. I haven't told the kids yet.

Wendy, answered you over at facebook.

MK, you rock when it comes to the casino! I would split the winnings between BF's present and your vacation fund.

how wonderful! Just tell Curt to drive slowly. Its yucky out there.

Just heard on FB that a high school classmate of mine passed away. He's the first one of our class. We only had 88 people, so its really sad. We went to church together. He was such a good man. I'm sad for him and his family, especially at this time of year.

he's just so young. no details yet, but they seem to think it had something to do with a blood clot

I hope his family gets answers soon. It's just so terrible to think of someone so young passing away unexpectedly like this.

Tonight is going to so slow. It's only 9pm.
