i know everyone's financial situation is different, and everyone has different opinions on this but I was hoping to get some sort of average amount. How much do you tip your server and stateroom host for excellent service on a 7 day cruise ( above and beyond the standard automatic tip)

Whatever we feel the service was worth, above the standard tip. Sometimes we've tipped more (upwards of $20), other times we've not increased the tip.

If we like the service, we tip 20. Or 30 more to our cabin steward, 20 extra to main server and 10 to asst server. Plus 5 to a tour guide. I generally don't tip extra for drinks except at the cove cafe where, by the end of the week, they know me, so I generally tip 5 or 10 at the nd of the cruise to reflect their good service. And 20 or 30 per person for Palo server

do not feel like you are being 'cheap' with the standard tip amounts .....

if you really like a 'cast member' get their name and mention them in your after cruise questionnaire .... THIS can get them promotions or bonuses .... a few extra bucks ARE appreciated, but the "named in dispatches" is BIG

Any CM who goes above and beyond for me and my family get mentioned in the questionnaire. IMHO this is the best one can do for them.
