Timeshare Advice

Considering that this is the most insightful and helpful place to get all DVC and many other questions answered, I am turning to my fellow DVC'ers for help.

I am thinking about purchasing an every-other use year into Starwood Vacation Ownership as a complement to my Boardwalk and Beach Club points, as it is obvious that using my points to trade out of DVC is both a poor use of points and not easy to get what I want. I am looking for advice from any other SVO owner as to the ease (or difficulty) of doing internal exchanges within their system as the best deal from the developer is at a resort that I don't intend on staying at regularly. I know, BUY WHERE YOU WANT TO STAY. I am pretty flexible on when I travel. I also like the option of using the points at all of their hotels (not available if I buy re-sale). Any advice would be greatly appreciated

to look at the reviews of the resorts - very helpful when you don't know the area and there are several timeshares in the RCI or II for you pick from - or just for information.

they have an article I think on this subject - look in the advice section - if you can - you might need to join to access this section - not sure on this.
