I COULD stand for the hour drive... heck I stand for 5 hours at a time work.

'Hi Disney Dining... I'd like to order a cake. Does it matter if I order naked?' :rotfl2:

Carry on? Who is carrying-on? :rolleyes1 Errrr yes they were supposed to be in there. :rolleyes1
Disney won't accept them if they're covered in...well...you know...just trust me on this, ok?
UMMMMM... care to elaborate? :surfweb:
You should check out Liesa's PTR.. LOL You'd fit in just fine there!!!

OK, stapled to his forehead then.
OUCH!!!!! :headache::headache:
Yes- don't forget the tickets!

Well I did it... I ORDERED THE CAKE!!!!!

I called GF private dining and then they connected me with Pat from the GF cake department. I tried to convey what I was looking for but it wasn't working. I think the fact that I'm a guy that didn't exactly know what I was looking for came into play but she really didn't give me many different ideas. I ended up ordering an 8'' chocolate cake, white chocolate mousse filling, & pink buttercream frosting. I told her I wanted to incorporate Cinderella into the cake some how and I didn't want the thin standing up picture. She told me it wasn't a cookie... it was actually made of white chocolate. Hummm. Anyways she mentioned there could be a solid Cinderella put on there. I opted to go with that. The only downside with having the solid Cinderella is that they will not be able to write happy birthday on the cake.. I guess the writing will be on the plate or platter.:confused3:confused3

She kept on suggesting I go with ganache for my frosting but I didn't really know what that was. Plus then it will be a brown cake. I googled ganache and it does sound good-

Ganache

This fancy term is simply chocolate melted with heavy cream. This frosting makes a beautiful shiny glaze on cakes and cookies. If you chill a ganache, beat it until it's fluffy and stiff, then form it into balls, you'll end up with truffles. You can also chill and beat a ganache and use the fluffy result to quickly frost a layer cake.

I do have time to call her back and make any changes. What do you think? Do I need to make any changes? I guess I could have ganache with pink frosting but why would she keep suggesting it? Are they trying to push a certain kind of cake there??? Are certain type 'massed' produced?

The total of the cake came out to $62 +tax&tip which isn't horrible. I just hope I'm going the right thing. I'll take any and all opinions! :goodvibes

I know we as parents fret over what will be perfect in the eyes of our kids. But when you think about it, any cake that Juliana sees will be the best cake that she's ever had - just because her mom and dad got it for her. She'll love it no matter what.

That is very true and I totally agree with that.:thumbsup2

OK.... but we are part of the most obsessive trip planning message board in the world, I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing. Would my wife approve, will my daughter approve, am I getting the most/best for my money, heck, will this cake even taste good. :lmao:

It's CAKE! Have you ever had one that tasted bad?:confused3:lmao::lmao:

But you're right about all this obsessive cake planning. I may just have to drop by just to see this thing in person. And have a piece, of course. :cake:

I personally am not a big fan of ganache. It's too thick for me. I like light, whipped type frosting though. If you don't know, don't risk it. You don't want to waste your money and be disappointed.

I think you did great and I am sorry she was not more helpful. I think buttercream would be better than granache.

I leave the decision up to you...I don't want you to fly out to CA for the beat down if I steer you wrong...;)

Hey if you are in the area of 1900 Park Fare on 3-11 7pm come on in and have a piece!!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thank you for your thoughts. I think I will keep it as is.. unless someone comes and yells at me and says I did something wrong! :rotfl:

I figured she would have all these great ideas but either didn't want to share them with me or didn't care. I wonder why she kept pushing the other cake on me? :confused3:confused3

Pink vs brown? No contest!

HEY!!!! Where have you been hiding???? I think it will look nice with pink frosting and a white chocolate Cindy. I wish there was room to write on the actual cake though. I know Juliana will love the pink. :goodvibes

Tim...please don't forget the tickets! :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

Oh man..I love buttercream frosting! I think it would still be cute even if the words aren't on the cake. Besides, Ana will not care. :) She will just be in awe of getting a cake in the first place.

LOL
I'm just trying to ask the ever civilized DIS community for an opinion. I guess if I wanted to start a controversy, I'd post this on the transportation board!! :lmao:

The tix are coming with us this time. They were lonely sitting here in CT while we were in FL!!! LOL

You guys are making me think I did the right thing. Thanks.:goodvibes

Don't worry about the name- she's going to be too busy looking at Cindy to even try to read it if it were on there.

I asked m which she wpoild choose and she picked Cindy over her name hands down.
