We obviously didn't think of it because tie dye spans any distance
We were feeling the urge so bad we just did it in the garage tonight, while it poured outside. The lesson learned tonight is figure out which shirt is getting which color first so you don't end up with a nearly full bottle of certain colors! We only used Chinese red on two Italian flag themed shirts for a friend of ours, but had mixed up a whole bottle. We also tried a couple different patterns and color combinations so fingers crossed big time here. I think most will be fine, more of a worry if anything will come out muddy. My friend even found 100% cotton boxer briefs at Old Navy so we did some of those for her husband! We agreed from the start of this not to unwrap the shirts or whatever without us both being there, and she's going to Wicked tomorrow so I have to wait til Friday to see how they turn out!! It's already killing me!!
All but 2 things are for other people so we're particularly nervous about them. I did a blue and purple spiral shirt for me, rainbow spiral shirts for my cousin's little ones plus individual shirts for them (one got pink and purple spiral, one is green and blue stripes, one is purple and yellow bullseye) 2 Italian flag theme shirts for a friend (one spiral and one stripes), a skirt and shirt for my friends sister (both spirals), the boxer briefs for my friend's husband (blue yellow and green bulleye and spiral but I don't remember the colors) and I believe the last one was an offset bulleye for my friend. There was a ton and we had a hard time keeping them straight so here's hoping we didn't accidently dye anyone's stuff the wrong colors or patterns.
This was our first time using the dharma dyes (chinese red, fuschia, deep orange, lemon yellow, new emerald green, turquiose, and grape) and we added urea to the dye. I'll post pictures soon!
