Apologies if this is answered somewhere else (I searched and can't find it!). We are heading to Disney the last week in May, with 6 park days. (6 adults, 2 kids - 4 and 10). I am planning to get park hopper passes to maximize flexibility. We are not currently planning on going to Typhoon Lagoon, but if a group decided they wanted to, how difficult is it to upgrade our tickets to include the water park option the day of? Is that even possible? TYIA

It will be easy to do BUT you will need to pay all price increases that may have happened to your entire ticket from the time of purchase until time of update.

Above is correct...and I'll add... you can upgrade as long as there is a valid entitlement left on your ticket. If you have 6-day PH and decide to go to a water park on your 7th day (after using the 6 theme park entries), you cannot upgrade. However if you make that plan sometime earlier in the stay, you can upgrade at any point and then use the water park after having done 6 theme park entries. If you decide to make a day mid-stay for the waterparks, no problem upgrading day-of at the water park gate.

Be aware that the Water Parks & Sports add-on will give you 6 additional plus options, not just 1. So you can use it for mini-golf (before 4pm), foot-golf, 9-hole Oak Trail golf and/or the water park. A total of 6 times for any combination of those activities.

One last thing: if all you want is one day at the water park and none of the other “water park and more” options, it might be cheaper to just buy one-day admission to the water park at its ticket booth. Check the prices for the upgrade vs. the single water park ticket.

If only purchasing the WP option from a basic ticket this could be the case if there has been a ticket price increase but since OP already has the OH option, adding the ‘plus’ is minimal.

Honestly OP, if you are fairly confident you will want to add the plus option you might want to consider doing it sooner than later.

I normally add the ‘+’ option to our tickets and it’s just $20/person when purchasing before there has been a price increase.

If the WDW site says my AP expires on May 3, does that mean I can use it on May 3rd, or is May 2nd the last day to use it? Thanks for any info if anyone knows.

Going to Disney in May. We have old tickets - the non expiring type form almost 15 years ago. I have already had tickets converted and they appear in my account.

A couple of questions

1. I have to make park reservations since these tickets are not date specific, correct?
2. These tickets have park hoppers. Since the after 2 park hopper requirement is going away i assume we can park hop anytime? Do we need reservations to the park we are hopping?

Thanks for any info.

Yes, that’s my understanding.

Nope!
Thanks for any info.
You’re welcome!

I don't know whether you need park reservations or not in your case. I'm pretty sure you can hop anytime, just like everyone else. No one has needed park reservations for their second (or third or fourth) park of the day since the park reservation system started. You only make park reservations for your first park.

We have family visiting later this month from Europe (2 adults) and they have expressed an interest in going to WDW. We are local AP holders and it has been many years since I navigated regular ticket prices and terms. Several years ago when they visited we did one day at HS where we just walked up and they paid the single day entrance price and I know this is the most expensive way to do things.

They are only going to be with us about four days (they are spending time with other family members in south Florida) and I can imagine they may only want perhaps 2 days at WDW. I do think they'd enjoy mini-golf and a water park (which we also have APs for), so was thinking about a ticket with that add-on.

To be a little prepared to help them navigate best options, can anyone provide a recommendation for what to purchase and how to purchase? If they purchase a 2-day ticket with the water park / mini-golf option, how many days do they have to use it? And as I understand, they could do mini-golf + a park, or water park + a park on the same day.

I'm also trying to think of ways to make the day most efficient, so I might treat us all to Genie+ and had also considered renting a cabana at the water park. Any other ideas to streamline such a short visit? For Genie+, I assume I'll have to add their tickets somehow to my MDE and manage it centrally? Is that easily done with single tickets for friends? I've never managed Genie+ myself so I'll have to try to figure that out to maximize their experience.

Thanks for any tips!

First, tickets are now date-based. I'm not sure how long ago it was that you last bought regular tickets. You'll need to select a "start" date and length of ticket which determines the expiration. A 2-day ticket is valid for a 4-day window of time. The Water Parks + Sports add-on would allow them to visit 2 theme parks as well as any 2 "minor" entries (water park, mini-golf, foot golf, Oak Trail golf) at any point within that use window. Yes, they could double-up any minor entries with or without a theme park. They just can't do 2 theme parks in 1 day without adding the park-hopper option.

Personal opinion -- it sounds like a lot to try and do if they only want 2 days at WDW. I would ask them what their "must do" activities are and go from there. If it's rides, skip the waterparks. It's also possible to buy a 1-day theme park ticket and a 1-day water park ticket which comes out to about the same price. There really are no discounts on 1 or 2 day tickets.

Either they will need to create an MDE account to hold their tickets, or you'll need to create profiles for them in your account. If they create their own, you'll need to link as F&F so you can do Genie+ together.

Thank you - great input!

I think they are going to rely on us to come up with a plan because they are not the type to research, so I'm not sure if I asked them what there "must dos" are, they would even know.

They visited around 2018 or so and we did a day at Studios which I believe was pre-Smugglers/Rise so I have no idea if that's of any interest, but I'm thinking they might want to do a different park. They have also been to Disneyland in CA so I'm thinking MK is less important.

My gut feeling is Epcot and AK (they are animal lovers) if we were to do two park days, plus mini-golf and a water park (if it is warm enough). As AP holders, we can get 15% discount on tickets for them to mini-golf as well as discount tickets to the water park for them, so I think adding it to their park tickets is not a good idea.

They also enjoyed Disney Springs so I'm sure we'll head back there.

Your post and writing this out has helped my thought process!

I have tix purchased for March ‘24 but we cancelled our trip. Tix were purchased thru UndercoverTourist and have NOT been added to MDE yet. I could get a refund from UT but there would be a 5% restocking type fee which would be about $121. What’s the smart thing to do here? Get the refund or add them to MDE and apply the cost paid to future tix purchase? I’m really leaning toward the refund.

It's really a personal choice. If you have another trip planned within a year, I would probably just change the tickets to the new date -- and pay whatever extra might be necessary. But if you need the money or simply don't know when you'd get to WDW next, then I would probably go refund while that is still an option. It's a large credit to carry for an unknown period of time.

i searched but did not find the answer to this question: if you upgrade a multi-day park hopper to Incredipass mid-trip, do you need the to make park reservations for the remaining days of the trip? Trip is end of April. I’m guessing yes, because the ticket is then AP in the system? (I was going to upgrade last day of trip, but my daughter pointed out I may as well get the benefits this trip.)

Unless those are "good to go" days for APs, I would assume you'll need theme park reservations after you upgrade.

Annual Pass question. I am looking at getting an AP (Incredi-pass as we are not FL residents) for my late July 2024, December 2024 and Early July 2025 trips and I was just running the numbers on prices. Can anyone confirm if there are standard room discounts for AP holders (i.e. 25% on all rooms) or does Disney release AP discounts from time to time for select rooms at select resorts, with no set schedule/pattern? Also, is there a way for non-AP holders to see any such AP discount room prices prior to becoming an AP holder.

There are not standard room discounts for APs. Disney periodically drops AP discounts at different times of the year - many room types sell out. The discounts range from 10% - 35% depending on resort, time of year, etc.
There is no way for a non AP-holder to see the AP-discounts because those discounts vary greatly and are based on availability for your dates.

Does anyone know if online banks/financial institutes will work for proof of Florida residency?(nothing fishy just daughter moved back and she is now over 18 so needs her own proof. Just trying to find out what will work besides DL.)
