Ticket Prices Going Up 2/12/17 ~ New Pricing Page 8>>>

Earlier today, my total through UCT (w/mousesavers link) was $1,328 and through Disney was $1,381- for 2 adult 7 day hoppers and 1 child 7 day hopper. Only a $53 difference for all three tickets. There is a much bigger price difference with the 4 day hopper from UCT.
I see where you got that number. They have a special ticket. Buy a 4 day hopper and get 3 days free. For a total of $1233. At that price it may be worth buying now.

mshanson3121 I think you might find that you will be OK for your 2018 trip. Check out the threads in the Canadian Trip Planning Board. Others have called Disney directly and they have confirmed the December 31,2017 first use date is an error on the website. Yes the tickets tomorrow forward may expire at the end of 2018 but you should be good until then

No idea. Everyone is getting different info. Some have called and been told there is no expiry. Others have called and been told yes the Dec 31/17 date restriction starts tomorrow. Pathetic on Disney's end for communication.

Quick question! If i buy tickets for someone but am not going on the trip- could i / should i get an e-ticket? Can that be done or would they need my card to verify in Disney? Should I just have them mailed? Buying from PS or OTC- thank you!

View attachment 219740 I don't think Disney currently has any idea of what they are doing.

Does anyone notice in the photo posted here it says multi day tickets need to have the first use by December 31 2017? Did it always say that? Was going to buy some tickets tonight but now I'm concerned they will expire by the end of the year. I am seeing the same message on my computer.

If the tickets you buy from Disney DO "expire,"
(and apparently at LEAST by tomorrow, if not tonight, they WILL have an expiration date) you won't just be "out the money."
(The tickets won't just become valueless on the expiration date.)

Yep. Was just trying to hedge against an increase next year too. Won't need these tickets until 2018. Might go to UCT to be safe.

I was planning on getting an AP before my trip in late May. I didn't want to spend the money yet but it looks like it may save me a few bucks if I do. Am I better off getting a 10 park hopper from UT now and upgrading at the park? If the 10 day ticket is $21 less from UT, does that mean my AP will be $21 less than buying it straight from Disney?

1. I don't know that a 10-day UT ticket is the best value.
You want to buy a ticket from a reseller that has the best discount.
That may or may not necessarily be UT.

2. Yup.
I can tell you that there were/are some 7-day reseller tickets with a $48 savings.
That would be $48 dollars less than trading-in a Disney full-price ticket for an AP.
Remember that you can only do the upgrade while at WDW.
So, consider that if you only buy a 7-day ticket, you can only book 7 days of FP+ in advance.

Prices always go up .. just look at the prices of everything else around you that are not ever ADVERTISED.
My DirectTV bill went up $5.00 a month without really any notice. My taxes on my house go up every year (the local government borrowing more money for some other project) ... movie tickets are now like $12 (not counting "3-D" or IMAX enhancements) ... I can barely get away with spending less than $8 for a fast food lunch anymore.

It's sad, but I don't think Disney is "pricing out" anyone from a Disney vacation.

Go one less day (skip DHS until it has the new lands)
Don't spend a dime on souvernirs.
Pack your lunch instead of going to Quick Service.
Stay offsite.

Disney will probably see people shortening their vacations (or spending less while there) if they keep doing this and it may eventually hit their bottom line.
Most people haven't been getting a 5% raise in their salaries in a LONG time.

Or maybe not .. Disney fanatics (like us) .. are just that FANATICS .. we'll pay increased ticket prices PLUS extras like dessert parties and character meals and splurge and stay at a Deluxe resort because we've heard (on here) so many good things about it.

Someone??

.

Um, yeah they are. Us for one. And considering the drop in attendance we're far from the only ones. Your budget is clearly out of touch with the reality of many.

I don't blame you for your concerns. I ended up buying my tix by phone tonight with my CC. If I didn't, I was thinking of going to my CAA office physically to buy tickets. Its possible they still have discounted physical tickets in stock.

I'm actually nervous hat they might eventually change this. I just bought tickets and am not planning to link it to my MDE until I absolutely have to.
I think that's an unnecessary worry. Reassigning tickets and editing/changing names are a sure way to ensure future ticket usage by anyone.

Is that special 4 days + 3 free ticket just a regular 7 day ticket or something special? I want to make sure Disney uses the value of a 7 day ticket when upgrading and not a 4 day or something.

Print out the information you have in writing if it doesn't say terms and conditions subject to change or something like that and they may honor the non-expiration.

I mentioned in another thread, they've ruined our trip for next year. I just transferred the money yesterday to be able to go ahead and buy the Canadian tickets for our 2018 trip. And thanks to Disney's corporate greed, they're not going to honor the rest of their discount (which has been advertised as non-expiring tickets for months) and with less than 12 hours notice, they changed the conditions. Unfortunately for me, the transfer won't be complete until Tuesday or Wednesday, so we're now screwed out of a $700 savings.

I'm not impressed with how they handled the Canadian discount, at all. They had 2 weeks left on the sale.

There is no such ticket as a "4-days with 3 days free."
That deal is for a regular 7-day ticket.
It's just "marketing speak" as another way to say what it really is... a "7-day ticket for the price of a 4-day ticket."
