Ticket Prices Going Up 2/12/17 ~ New Pricing Page 8>>>

Just went ahead and purchased tickets for a future trip in the next few years from UT

Me too. I'm celebrating my 50th in a few years and am planning two trips with different people (I'll be upgrading to an AP if all goes well). At least tickets are checked off! The rewards from this purchase will be used on our upcoming family trip.

My thoughts exactly! I always buy my tickets first, with my Dis Visa to get the points, then save up my points to offset my hotel balance. Then, my budget can handle food and souvenirs and part of hotel bill. Plus, we drive. I am not sure we can do Disney "our way" with this change. At least I have my 4 park hoppers that I bought over a year ago for our upcoming trip in October.
We also drive from PA. So we have to save for gas and a night in a hotel each way too

Well, I bought another set of 7 day PHs. In addition to APs, I have 4 sets of tickets stored in MDE.

It's kind of like stockpiling forever stamps and makes about as much sense. Spending money to save at some point down the road...

But I'm sure the change in adding an expiration is for people like me who have multiple sets of tickets as a price hedge.

Just curious, did you just buy them? and from Disney?

We have a trip coming up at the beginning of May, and I was planning on buying my tickets this weekend or next weekend. I have three sets to buy- (2) 7 day adult hoppers and 1 kid hopper (for me), (2) 7 day adult hoppers (for parents), and (2) 5 day adult hoppers (for inlaws). I will be handling all three transactions as the "planner in charge." I have purchased from UCT before, and was thinking about doing it again this year, but I'm always nervous about it. Since it only saves me $53 for my 3 tickets, I'm not really sure I will this year (I'd rather use my Disney gift cards). In reading about the price increases, I don't see anything about multi-day increases, other than the $20 discount for online/app purchases. It seems like, based on the wording on KTPs website, it is a per-ticket discount. In this case, assuming no increase on the multi-day ticket, plus a new $20 discount, it will be cheaper to wait till tomorrow and purchase directly through Disney. If I'm not reading correctly, it would be cheaper to purchase tonight. HELP! Is the multi-day ticket increasing?

This ruins the strategy I use to take my family to Disney. We go every 3 or 4 years. First year we buy our tickets...

As a suggestion...
I'd put that money (year one) in a savings account and wait until you're closer to going.

I'd bet that in the interim 2-3 years the price increases will be able to be handled at the end
of your wait.

I could see other life events happening in that time frame that would make me pull that money to cover something more important than Disney. But having a Disney ticket in the back of drawer for a couple of years would guarantee a trip eventually, because I can't use it for anything else. This is just another wrench in the gears, making it a little more difficult for me.

So basically it sounds like multi day tickets will not have a price increase but will have an expiration date added and if you don't use the ticket before it expires you can exchange it for a new one and only pay extra if the price of that ticket has gone up since the expiration date?

If this is the case I'm not going to frantically purchase my tickets right this instant.
Instead I will just wait until February 24th as I had panned to do since we all want 3 day park hopper tickets.

I am very confused. I currently have a package booked in May with a 6 day base ticket. We were going to wait until we got there to add the PH and/or WP options. My questions are:

1. Is there any benefit to me increasing to a 10 day ticket? Will these tickets expire 14 days after use? Will I be able to use those days later in the year or use them towards purchase of another ticket?
2. Should I go ahead and add the days and PH/WP options tonight on MDE if it will allow me to?

I'm sure there are other questions I can't think to ask.

Multi-day tickets are definitely going up in price. There might be one or two where the increase isn't too bad once you factor in the $20 advance-purchase "discount", but all the most popular tickets are going up in price. Some of the Disneyland Annual Passes are staying the same price, but that's the only thing we've heard isn't going up. If you need tickets, buy them soon. Undercover Tourist (and I assume other retailers) will have the old tickets for a little while, but they'll run out at some point.

Could you point me in the right direction of where it says multi day ticket prices are increasing?
Seems odd that I keep seeing all other increases and changes but not price increase for multi day tickets.

I may be wrong but I think a 7 day hopper thru Disney is $467 and thru Undercover Tourist it is $418. A $49 savings for just one adult hopper.

Earlier today, my total through UCT (w/mousesavers link) was $1,328 and through Disney was $1,381- for 2 adult 7 day hoppers and 1 child 7 day hopper. Only a $53 difference for all three tickets. There is a much bigger price difference with the 4 day hopper from UCT.

1. Accurate info hasn't been posted so no one can answer this question for you. Those who do know about ticket expiration can't post info until tomorrow after everything goes into effect.

Disney has been doing this for a few years - when they do the announcement to the press, they just talk about the 1-day price increases, so that's all the press talks about. Believe me, they have never raised the price of just the 1-day tickets. They are not doing that this year either. We'll all see by how much tomorrow.

Thanks hiro!

I'm going to leave it the way it is. We have rolled with the "punches" Disney has thrown for the last 16 years, this should be no different.

I did check to see what it would cost to add the additional 4 days, so once I know the answer I'll be able to make a decision.

This ruins the strategy I use to take my family to Disney. We go every 3 or 4 years. First year we buy our tickets, second year we save for food and incidentals, third year we pay for accommodations then we go. Now by the time we are able to go the tickets will have expired. We really need to be able to spread out the cost over a couple of years to be able to go and we are going this September so I can't jump on tickets tonight

I mentioned in another thread, they've ruined our trip for next year. I just transferred the money yesterday to be able to go ahead and buy the Canadian tickets for our 2018 trip. And thanks to Disney's corporate greed, they're not going to honor the rest of their discount (which has been advertised as non-expiring tickets for months) and with less than 12 hours notice, they changed the conditions. Unfortunately for me, the transfer won't be complete until Tuesday or Wednesday, so we're now screwed out of a $700 savings.

Which means, short of a winning lotto ticket, or, unless they offer another big discount, we won't be going next year now. I just can't justify spending $2000+ on theme park tickets on our budget. I'm not impressed with how they handled the Canadian discount, at all. They had 2 weeks left on the sale. Surely to goodness, they're not that hard up, that they couldn't have finished it up, as is.
