Nobody can add days to a 10-day ticket.
10 days is MAX.
Right, but will they still put my $xxx I paid for the 10 day ticket that I let expire go toward a new 10 day ticket? That's my real question--perhaps I muddied the water too much.

If I bought a 10 day ticket tomorrow (new pricing/expiration) and don't use ANY days, how can I get my money toward a new ticket "IF" they only allow you to add days to your current ticket's unused days for the new ticket
^^^ No one knows if adding days to "leftover" days is true.

What is known is that old valid tickets may be expired but still retain their value. The value gets applied to new, valid, unexpired 10-day tickets.

If you were to allow a 10-day ticket expire (never used at all...)
It would still be WORTH what you paid for it, new, at such time as you were to buy a NEW "replacement" ticket when you were finally ready to make a trip.

(I've been typing as fast as I can for hours, now. ;) )

We just got back from WDW less than a month ago and paid about $78 a night for a "value."

Everything is too high these days, but that's less than we pay per night for a comparable room in Branson, Mo.

I've noticed in the last few years that non-Disney hotels that used to be moderately priced, like in the $75-100 category, are all now generally $100+. It's actually hard to find something that is in-between the el cheapo motel 6's and the Marriotts and Hiltons price wise now. It's either $50 or $129+ a lot of the time. All those places like Holiday Inn, Homewood Suites, Embassy Suites, stuff like that have all increased past the moderate pricing.

Bingo!

(And, sad, too.)

The Touring Plans explanation disappointed me - when I read the first rumors of the new tickets it sounded like if you bought a 10-day ticket you and used 5 days on one trip and 5 days on another. Now it sounds like if you buy a 10-day ticket for lets say about $400, then use 5 days, you can get a credit for the marginal cost of the remaining 5 days (lets say those days are worth $90 - I'm not sure of the exact marginal cost of the last 5-days on a 10 day ticket). So you would get, in this example, let's say about $90 off your next purchase of 10-day tickets for the value of the remaining 5-days on the first passes, not half off your next purchase of a 10-day ticket from the 5 days on the original passes.

Currently, (before tomorrow's increase) the "last 5 days" of a 10-day ticket cost $60, total (plus tax.)

And, I am in no way sure that this is how the "new system" will work.
Stay tuned.

Good point, as we all know that the last 5 days cost much less than the first 5. This is really not the same as getting all your money back. So perhaps it would be a better idea to buy 3 day tickets and either add on the other days later, or if they expire, use their value as a savings on what you buy later. Hopefully we will get more info that clarifies this.

Thank you robo !!!
Do you have any idea how long the exp. period will be ???

Those 8 two day tickets that I will get in August I plan to use 4 of them to get into Epcot on New Years Eve this year, then turn around and use them to buy our new florida silver passes (that worked this year). Save the other 4 tickets to do the same thing the next New Year's Eve if that makes sense ...
I am not interested in "bridging" or anything like that I just want to make sure that I will be able to use the money I paid for those tickets for buying the passes and more importantly I will be able to get into Epcot on New Years Eve Dec. 2017 and Dec. 2018

We also thinking about buying 4 seven day hoppers from park savers tonight ... If we do and load tonight those will never expire correct ???

1. I figure (guess) between 6-18 months, or so.
2. Have a great trip!

Just went ahead and purchased tickets for a future trip in the next few years from UT; won't buy from Disney unless I ever have to years from now and I truly dread that time.

I have a MYW package booked for May that isn't paid off yet. Will the ticket price go up after tomorrow or did my deposit lock in the prices? Thank you.

If I buy my multi-day tickets online (and save $20), but then decide to upgrade at the ticket window, will I have to pay the new ticket window price and lose my $20 savings?

Or, ideally, they add a way to upgrade my tickets in the app/website... without visiting the ticket window. That would save a lot of time!

This ruins the strategy I use to take my family to Disney. We go every 3 or 4 years. First year we buy our tickets, second year we save for food and incidentals, third year we pay for accommodations then we go. Now by the time we are able to go the tickets will have expired. We really need to be able to spread out the cost over a couple of years to be able to go and we are going this September so I can't jump on tickets tonight

My thoughts exactly! I always buy my tickets first, with my Dis Visa to get the points, then save up my points to offset my hotel balance. Then, my budget can handle food and souvenirs and part of hotel bill. Plus, we drive. I am not sure we can do Disney "our way" with this change. At least I have my 4 park hoppers that I bought over a year ago for our upcoming trip in October.
