Ticket Prices Going Up 2/12/17 ~ New Pricing Page 8>>>

There is no such ticket as a "4-days with 3 days free."
That deal is for a regular 7-day ticket.
It's just "marketing speak" as another way to say what it really is... a "7-day ticket for the price of a 4-day ticket."

Thanks :)
I felt like it was a dumb question but didn't want to take a chance!

BUT... your MONEY will NOT BE LOST if you happen to let your package tickets expire.
What you (in effect) paid for those tickets (gate price) will be given to you when you finally buy NEW tickets.
(If there has been no price increase in the mean time, you won't pay any more for the "replacement" tickets.)

What I wonder is how they will determine the credit. It sounds like you believe they will give the gate price for the date the ticket was purchased? So they'd be planning on keeping those amounts around for years?

Thanks :)

You're ok. I've used third party tickets every time. The "day" value is solid. Upgrading is iffy. I tried at DHS and they wanted to credit me what the 3rd party paid. I went to Epcot, later, and had the same response. The problem was I had receipts with a higher cost to me vs. what they thought I had paid based on their info from selling to the third party. It was resolved, eventually. I'm trying it again this year (Heaven help me) but they always know that a 4 day/3 day free means a 7 day ticket. They don't always want to bridge but they'll recognize the ticket days. Don't give up! There are CMs that follow training.

Print out the information you have in writing if it doesn't say terms and conditions subject to change or something like that and they may honor the non-expiration.

I don't have tickets bought yet, hence the problem. Canadian tickets purchased today or earlier will not expire.

I think that's an unnecessary worry. Reassigning tickets and editing/changing names are a sure way to ensure future ticket usage by anyone.

That's a good point - I'll think about it some more. I guess I just don't like being tracked as much as I am currently tracked. I just prefer to keep this particular set of tickets off my MDE for as long as possible. As it is, because I bought it direct from Disney it sounds like I have shot myself in the foot forever if I ever wanted to use price bridging to upgrade years from now.

As long as your tickets are safely stored away, you don't need to link them to MDE. :)

It sounds like upgrades may eventually be doable within MDE. If so, the system will know the purchase price of any Disney-purchased ticket, unlike 3rd party tickets.

1. Yes.
2. They do that now.
They have decades of prices and dates.

Me too. I'm celebrating my 50th in a few years and am planning two trips with different people (I'll be upgrading to an AP if all goes well). At least tickets are checked off! The rewards from this purchase will be used on our upcoming family trip.

I used my Disney Visa card too which I rarely use and will redeem the 'rewards' for ride pictures since we don't buy any photo packages.

The way Disney ticket pricing has been heading I'm not surprised by the addition of expiration dates. The only way left to save money for those who travel infrequently to WDW is using the authorized ticket resellers and I fear they may be locked out by Disney in the next few years!

We're thinking that any future trips will have to be off-site but at least the tickets are purchased.

My DH and I are going this fall to celebrate our anniversary. We were just going to go to Epcot one day. If I hurry and buy 2-1 day tickets for Epcot (value season), it says on the official WDW website that the tickets will expire at the end of this year. I though a poster indicated that buying tickets today will not expire. I'm afraid to buy the tickets today if for some reason we would have to cancel our trip.

I guess we are only talking about $6.00 more by waiting until tomorrow, so I might just wait to extend the dates of the tickets

Even if the tickets are allowed to "expire," you will not lose your money... if you just buy new tickets in the future.

Even if they expire, they retain their value (purchase price). That value would then be applied to a future ticket purchase.

Okay thanks. I guess if I wait, its only about $6 more, unlike if I was purchasing several days

Ok. Then what about Base tickets with fun visits? Probably be like non-expiring that you can't upgrade as it won't be a product they sell anymore? I think on of the explanations given for not upgrading non-expiring is that they don't have the previous pricing of the tickets in the system anymore?

I'm wondering the same thing.
