Happy Frozen :cold:Wednesday Morning

I’m a morning girlie, so i have way more than 3, but I’ll narrow it down to what I listed below ⬇️

#1 - WAKING UP - I’m always incredibly grateful that the good Lord blessed me with another day.

#2 - COFFEE AND SOCIAL MEDIA TIME - I enjoy sitting on my tablet and enjoying my coffee every morning.

#3 - GOING TO THE GYM - I love my gym mornings! Before my foot surgery I’d go the gym 3-4 days a week and get there by 7am. I’m going to the gym again, but only 2 days. Hopefully my restrictions will be lifted soon so I can start working out more again.

1. Dunkin Donuts itself...I grew up on Dunkin coffee and doughnuts. I brew my own Dunkin Midnight dark roast at home. For those traveling in the northeast, don't bother using a sketchy gas station bathroom. Dunkin has the cleanest and best bathrooms (always have soft toilet paper) for those necessary stops. While you're there, you can grab breakfast, lunch, or a snack.

2. Everything that is PINK since it's my 💕 FAVORITE💕 color.

3. Orange sunsets.

My walk - I wasn't joking when creating the walking thread. I really do walk each and every single day with the exception of unusual circumstances. 99% of the time, that walk occurs first thing in the morning. This has been a staple in my daily routine for over a year now, but a friend just realized last night that I'm out walking in the dark (unless I decide it's a treadmill day and head to the gym for a treadmill). In any event, it's a bit like therapy and the day tends to be much better with my walk.

Coming on here - Morning is when I check threads like this, polls, etc. So, it's how I like to start my day after my walk.

Breakfast - All of this a.m. walking means I need food. It could be something quick and easy like a protein bar, it could involve some stove time with an egg white scramble, or lately...it's been my oatmeal concoctions. I have been combining plain oatmeal with golden raisins, toasted pecans, apple pie spices, and monkfruit to sweeten it. Yesterday, I even put in some shredded carrots because the whole thing has a carrot cake vibe. Just add some hot water and VOILA!

Evening all,

1. Early morning walks - while I don't do this every morning like Tigger, at least half of the week I will get up super early and go out for a walk first thing (usually straight after the cats have woken me up for breakfast ). Even though I sometimes resent getting up and out so early, it makes me feel so much better and sets me up well for the rest of the day.

2. Brunch - breakfast is probably my least favourite meal of the day as I don't like to eat a lot, but somehow it seems so much better when I turn it into brunch. Especially when it turns into a proper meal like eggs benedict, a full english or full on breakfast muffin, and helps as I don't need to eat a full meal then until dinner time.

3. Coffee - another vote for coffee. I've cut down my coffee intake a lot and only have a couple of cups a day now, but you still can't beat that first morning cup.

My morning coffee. On work nights, DH sets the coffee maker before we go to bed at night, so it's ready first thing in the morning. He always is the one who goes downstairs to get the coffee, so I get coffee in bed before getting up for work!

Peace and quiet. On the weekends, I am usually up before DH. I'll go downstairs, make a Keurig, and enjoy the stillness of a new day.

Brunch. I don't normally eat in the morning, but if it's about 10:30 and involves eggs, meat, breads, I'm there!

My favorite mornings are the ones where most of the pains I feel when I first get out of bed,, seem to magically disappear, or at least lessen, as I start to move about! :)

The smell of coffee, and drinking coffee leisurely as I read and do online games. The best part of being retired is being able to take as long as I want to drink my coffee.

My breakfast, especially when my daily orange is sweet.

Home Exercise Equipment/Assembly Required Furniture - While I do enjoy a jigsaw puzzle, I have found that I really enjoy buying useful things that require assembly. It's like I've taken that love of puzzles and shifted it to seeing these assembly projects as big usable puzzles. I swear, give me a few hours and a box with an elliptical in pieces and I can be a really happy girl. Same thing last year when I was assembling DDs new bed frame as well as my office chair and standing desk.

Elaborate Cakes - I think this is why I do not enjoy making things like fancy cupcakes and cookies. When I plan an involved cake, I see it for its construction components so that I have one put together cohesive end product. So, those individual serving creations are more tedious, monotonous and don't have the same end harmony for me. Cake though...it's like my mind loves all of the little parts. From how I plan and approach all of my wet and dry ingredients for the baking phase (as well as the "tools" like pans, mixer, baking spray, etc.) to the filling and frosting phases, then on to the fondant, and the big stuff like the toppers- side decor- edging- etc. It's basically edible engineering for some of these...especially the elaborate toppers. I don't think I've ever shared this one, but it's a cake I made for a charity auction benefiting the American Cancer Society. The event was called The Brazarre, where local artists used bras or made bras in all sort of artistic ways and then the works would go up for auction. That bra on top is 100% edible...made from gumpaste. I spent 2+ weeks constructing it from parts. The edible parts were designed from patterns I made from a real garment. Oh, and the pics are edible images of local cancer survivors who authorized me to use their images on the cake. This angle showcases my mother :) The cake was an auction item and raised something like $650 for cancer research. I just had fun playing with all of the many parts! Still annoyed with how some of the frames turned out, but all in all...a success IMO. Oh, and for those that aren't familiar, gum paste dries hard like porcelain and can last for a long time. So, the person that got the cake ate the cake but displays the bra like you would any porcelain collectible. I have more detail pics of it but I don't want to inundate you with a ton of photos.

Cars/Vehicles - I do sometimes envy mechanics because they get to play with all of these pieces when they do repairs. I guess the same goes for assembly workers. Either way, I think most of us are pretty thankful to have dependable modes of transportation.
