Home Exercise Equipment/Assembly Required Furniture - While I do enjoy a jigsaw puzzle, I have found that I really enjoy buying useful things that require assembly. It's like I've taken that love of puzzles and shifted it to seeing these assembly projects as big usable puzzles. I swear, give me a few hours and a box with an elliptical in pieces and I can be a really happy girl. Same thing last year when I was assembling DDs new bed frame as well as my office chair and standing desk.
Elaborate Cakes - I think this is why I do not enjoy making things like fancy cupcakes and cookies. When I plan an involved cake, I see it for its construction components so that I have one put together cohesive end product. So, those individual serving creations are more tedious, monotonous and don't have the same end harmony for me. Cake though...it's like my mind loves all of the little parts. From how I plan and approach all of my wet and dry ingredients for the baking phase (as well as the "tools" like pans, mixer, baking spray, etc.) to the filling and frosting phases, then on to the fondant, and the big stuff like the toppers- side decor- edging- etc. It's basically edible engineering for some of these...especially the elaborate toppers. I don't think I've ever shared this one, but it's a cake I made for a charity auction benefiting the American Cancer Society. The event was called The Brazarre, where local artists used bras or made bras in all sort of artistic ways and then the works would go up for auction. That bra on top is 100% edible...made from gumpaste. I spent 2+ weeks constructing it from parts. The edible parts were designed from patterns I made from a real garment. Oh, and the pics are edible images of local cancer survivors who authorized me to use their images on the cake. This angle showcases my mother

The cake was an auction item and raised something like $650 for cancer research. I just had fun playing with all of the many parts! Still annoyed with how some of the frames turned out, but all in all...a success IMO. Oh, and for those that aren't familiar, gum paste dries hard like porcelain and can last for a long time. So, the person that got the cake ate the cake but displays the bra like you would any porcelain collectible. I have more detail pics of it but I don't want to inundate you with a ton of photos.
Cars/Vehicles - I do sometimes envy mechanics because they get to play with all of these pieces when they do repairs. I guess the same goes for assembly workers. Either way, I think most of us are pretty thankful to have dependable modes of transportation.
