Three Things...Gratitude Thread

PollyannaMom: I could copy and paste yours!
September is always the beginning of the year for me. I feel more energy to get stuff done and come up with ideas that just don’t occur to me over the summer.

We can still get hot days, but we also get cooler ones, especially nighttime temps! Open those windows! (Except when the pollen count is high)

The leaves begin to turn, the holiday season begins, and my WDW planning goes into high gear!

I am so far behind- and too tired to catch up- because we've spent the entire weekend taping, priming, and painting at DD's new house. I am BEAT but we are almost there!

September things...
>DD. Her birthday is in September. She is the single best thing that has happened to me, my best travel buddy, best friend. She was born in CA, when DH was doing his post-doc at UCSF. I always tell her, I found my heart in San Francisco!

>Getting darker earlier. I am not a fan of the endless daylight of summer. I lose track of time; suddenly it's 7:15 and I haven't started supper yet! There is something cozy to me about dusk/darkness descending. I love coming home, with the outdoor colored lights on, ready to make supper and snuggle down.

>FOOTBALL. I'm a New England girl, so my heart's with the Pats. However, based on either where we've lived or family-favorites, I also root for the Saints and the Broncos for pro sports, and Syracuse, MSU, and Michigan* for college sports. I never liked football until someone took the time to teach me the rules. Now? I love a football day, with tailgaiting or having friends over for a pot luck while we watch the "Big Game!"

*I know... MSU AND Michigan? DH was on faculty at MSU for five years, but he was raised in Ohio and HATED the whole "ya gotta play high school football" thing, pretty much hated Ohio in general, and Michigan is a BIG rival for Ohio State, so... convoluted, I know, but the word "fan" is derived from "fanatic" so I guess it makes some kind of sense!

Happy Labor Day everyone :)

Today and this very moment are blessings to me from God.

Thessalonians 5:11 is dear to me as it reminds me of this kind thread and how we support and build each other up. Thank you all!

Touched by an Angel will always be a special TV Show to me.

TV - 📺 all the great programs !!
Educational / Entertaining

Telephone - the hours and hours spent chatting on the phone when you were a teenager !!!

Tomatoes 🍅 - you can make so many things with this one vegetable/ fruit

Teddy Bears 🧸 - I have always had a soft spot for teddy bears and still do - I own several and they are on display in my house ❤️

Looking at people’s answers from yesterday, I’m jealous that September means cooler temperatures. I’m probably going to be flying up to the northeast with DD15 next month, so hopefully I’ll experience some real fall.

So T…

An old friend-she’s a T name

Our internet provider- When we moved, nobody told us that an awful company was the only option in our town. About 2-3 years ago, a great company moved in, added fiber and shook up the monopoly.

Texas- She is far from perfect, but it’s been home for over 27 years and for all of the bad, there’s also a lot of great.

Beginning with T...

Tennis! I'm really enjoying the US Open at the moment. 🎾

Tees. Comfy and so much variety out there. 👕

Tomorrowland Speedway. I often see comments from adults who think it should be replaced, but if you're elementary school age, the excitement of being in the driving seat is something special. (For me, it's a Disney rite of passage!) :car:

I didn't realize how far behind I had gotten. Enjoyed everyone's answers over the last few days and like them all, but too tired to hit "like" for every one lol. This 2nd bout of Covid has left me really tired, but I can't complain as I am still able to do all my normal things, I just have less time, as some days I find I am sleeping 12 hours ugh!

Anyway I have to belatedly add one for September. I was married in September 53 years ago! Yikes!

Things that start with a T -

Thanksgiving - I love getting together with family for good food and good company (and my grandmother's stuffing) and it is and the real beginning of the holiday season for me. We now cut our tree down the weekend before Thanksgiving so I can start decorating it over the Thanksgiving weekend while everyone else is crazy shopping, my sister and I make our first batch of Christmas cookies, our Nurnbergers, which need to age, and I watch my first Christmas movies, Meet Me in St. Louis and, of course, the original Miracle on 34th Street. (I would so love to see the parade in person some day...)

Our sweet little pound puppy Teddy Bear, who is going on 15. We adopted him (and his roommate) when he was 4 - we were his 4th family - his 1st one took him to the pound, after which he was adopted twice and returned (I can't understand how people can do that!) before he found his forever family with us. It was meant to be! (His sweet little roommate, who had lived on the street the first 8 years of her life and who I affectionately called Minnie Mouse, and who is my icon - the pound had a cute little "Back to School" theme - died during Covid and we don't think Teddy would take well to a new brother or sister, but we are both semi-retired now so home a lot.)

It is cheating to say theater as in musical theater specifically? I love musical theater, with Les Miz at the top of my list. The best of musical theater makes me laugh and cry, the beauty of the words and the music can make my emotions soar.

I’m huge doodle person !!! I do it all the time !! Drove a former manager insane as she thought I was not paying attention during meetings and tried to dress me down and was so surprised when that backfired on her and very mad 😡 because I sat doodling during the meeting but recited everything right back to her 🤣🤣
I’m grateful I can doodle I enjoy doing it

I love doing crafts I think it’s from my wonderful Aunt who was always doing all types of arts & crafts with us when we were little

I enjoy refinishing wood items from big to small or getting something and remaking it into something better by adding things to it and refinishing it - grabbing an item at a garage sake and giving it a new life !!
