Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Good Tuesday Morning

#1 - My First Job - I became a custom picture framer at 16yrs old and did this for 25 years. This is a very creative job and I’m grateful every day to have done this for 25 years of my life.

#2 - My DH - He’s very creative and was awesome with helping my girls with their school projects. He also enjoys creating fun holiday decorations for the house.

#3 - Craft Fairs - I was just at one yesterday. Everything there isn’t for me, but I REALLY love and respect everyone’s creativity.

Dad and I have come to enjoy putting together joint scrapbooks. I also look forward God willing this Christmas time to finally creating a wooden gingerbread Christmas house and or church with my dad, a decoration we can make together.I would appreciate any (non glittery) recommendations. PM me and thank you, friends).

As some of you know, I do enjoy personalizing cards and notes with stickers. PM me any of you thay would enjoy some happy mail.

I always enjoyed planning and doing crafts with kids especially at church.

Tuesday hug to all!

Singing - While I'm not the greatest with reading music, it's the artsy medium where I'm most at home.

Culinary Arts - While I've dabbled in some of this with my cake creations and enjoy artful presentations and concepts in my food at home, I'm floored by some of the true artists in food.

My mom - She's always been super crafty. She's always had some kind of craft room or area in their various homes. I believe she still has her sewing machine, but the rooms always have a nice supply of beads, buttons, glues, paints, fabric, metal working tools, etc.

Artistic/Creative: -

Creative ways of facilitating early years development and learning. (Social media opened up a whole world of sharing in this.)

Beautifully decorated patisserie items. (But, they have to taste good, too!!!)

Stunning cinematography. (Sometimes, it's too much and detracts from the story, but mostly I love the kind of cinematography where I can see potentially framed photos. ...IYSWIM?)

I’m huge doodle person !!! I do it all the time !! Drove a former manager insane as she thought I was not paying attention during meetings and tried to dress me down and was so surprised when that backfired on her and very mad 😡 because I sat doodling during the meeting but recited everything right back to her 🤣🤣
I’m grateful I can doodle I enjoy doing it
Doodling can help you relax and focus, so you actually take in more. ...If there's anything worth taking in, in a meeting!! 🤣🤣🤣

Washable markers! Having just done some coloring and drawing with my DGD today, I am forever grateful to whoever invented these. (True when my daughter was young as well)

I too am a compulsive doodler. All of my notes in high school and college were covered with doodles, as well as every inservice I ever attended as a teacher where they handed out printed versions of PowerPoints! When I recognized that my daughter shared my ADHD tendencies, I told her to doodle in class. It really helps when you are in a situation where there are no opportunities to move around.

My sister was always the artistic one in our family. My dad and I were musical and my mom and sister were artistic. She did amazing needlepoints (her arthritis makes it difficult now) and I cherish the needlepoint birth announcement she made for my daughter. Her embroidery was even amazing when she was a kid.
This is one of my favorites, though it’s not a great picture. oh yeah! Photography! Honorable mention to taking pictures because I cannot draw or paint to save my life!

I also love the sampler. Thank you for sharing it with us Bluecastle:hug:I've only read about samplers in books, usually with Scripture on them. I don't even sew a button so to create art like a sampler is really special.

Sweet dreams, friends :)

Gummy Bears 🐻- I may have a gummy bear addiction !! Just love these things !!!

Extra Day off - those Monday Holidays !!! Really feels like you have a weekend when you get 3 days !!! You can get so much done !!

BOGOF - love those sales !! Especially when you get a free gift with them too I’m talking about you Victoria Secret and free shipping and coupon on top of all that !!

It’s H U M P day! :yay:

#1 - The Prize In A Cereal Box - This is really showing my age. I used to get so excited about that little extra something buried down in the cereal. Great childhood memory that today’s kids will never know.

#2 - Free Samples - At our local candy store they give you some free samples to take home when you spend over $10 - that’s always fun.

#3 - Flower Leis at The Polynesian - In March we were at The Poly to watch HEA from the beach and a cast member gave us each a flower lei. I told him we weren’t staying there and he said that he still wanted us to have one. I thought that was so nice of him, and that little extra made our little visit really special.

Happy Winds-Day friendspooh:

Aw I agree about cereal box prizes and BOGOF, Slo and WDWEPCOT!

Truly every extra breath to me is a blessed gift to me from God. That I also get to have extra time with my dad is an extra grace I sure cherish.

Extra care that I'm so blessed to be shown by my kind podiatrist and physical therapist.

Coupons and credit card rewards are blessings for dad and I.

Extra scene in a touching book or movie.

My favorite "extras" are the magnetic frame toppers I can now get for my glasses. Sooo much fun. Finally (after 70 years of glasses - ugh)!

Restaurant rewards programs. My family (DH, DS, DDIL, and grandbabies) LOVES Pacific Catch, so we eat there often enough that I almost always get one of the meals free. And my favorite local restaurant also has a rewards program.

See's candy - when you go in the shop, they always give you a free candy (thank you, slo, for making me think of that).

Disney Extras - From bday cupcakes and deserts to buttons and sequin tiaras at check in...I love some Disney extras.

Extra cheese - I love cheese and extra cheese on a pizza or really anything else that's supposed to be cheesy is dairy bliss!

Mom's surprises - She always packs a few extras in her suitcase that catch me off guard. Sometimes it's really silly stuff and sometimes it's things I love, but it's always fun.
