Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Toys & Games:

1. Volleyball—all 3 of my girls have played and my youngest still plays. It is a huge part of who she is and has become a big part of our lives too—getting her to practice, attending games, volunteering, traveling with other families.

2. Words with Friends—DH and I have been playing for years, nice way to spend a few minutes.

3. Board Games—love board games. My current favorite is Ticket to Ride—oldest DD loves it too, but she’s away so I don’t play much.

Toys/Games I'm Grateful For:
1) Legos, definitely - one of my own favorites as a kid and one of of my go-to gifts for kids now!
2) Game shows on TV - DH and I enjoy watching Jeopardy, and I also love 25 Words or Less.
3) Left, Right, Center and Dominoes - which we play a lot when DH's family gets together.
Bonus) Carcassonne - the latest game we've been obsessed with here. My oldest niece got us into it, and we love it!

Sidebar - what is your favorite game ???
Probably Trivial Pursuit - It isn't among anyone else's favorites here, so I rarely play it now, but I have fond memories of it from my teen years:
1) We used to take the cards on long car trips. While Dad was driving, Mom would read questions for my brother and I to pass the time.
2) My high school quiz team used it for practice as well, and those were some good times!

Dad and I definitely enjoy Game Shows especially the Price is Right. We also used to really enjoy Sale of the Century along with the original, not the new versions, those are not something we are interested in, of Lingo and Chain Reaction.

My very favorite game would just be any that right now dad and I are blessed to enjoy together.

Sidebar - what is your favorite game ??? I would have to say toss up between Scrabble and Deck of Cards - as with either one I could play by myself if I’m bored
What is your favorite ???
Tough choice. Both hold fond memories of fun times with my family. I might have to give the edge to the deck of cards since more of my family play card games than Scrabble but some of my favorite family members were/are kindred Scrabblers.

I’m asking out if ALL games - what is Your favorite ? State your favorite - I just think games are awesome - you play them as kids - you play them with your kids - you play them as adults - we play them in the Parks and on Cruises - what is your favorite game ???
We all know for TV it’s Price us Right or Jeopardy !! 🤣🤣

Board games were such a huge, huge part of my childhood, not sure I could pick a favorite. My older son and I played any board game we could find. many happy memories. The younger 2 kids, and DH, and I played a lot of games too. One of our favorites that we'll still play is Harry Potter Clue. It's a fun take on Clue. DS enjoys Munchkin a lot. We were introduced to Just one, and it's fun, and we love ALL the trivia games. I may still have my first trivial pursuit around here somewhere.
My older son was so into game shows, for many years, he wanted to be a game show host when he grew up. He even wrote to Bob Barker, and got an autographed picture back. Still have it framed. haha. We'll turn on Price is Right from time to time, and sometimes Jeopardy, (I actually got to be a contestant on Jeopardy, many years ago---very cool experience.) but don't watch many game shows anymore. Thankful for all the memories.

Good Sunday Morning! :cool1:

#1 - I’m grateful for the dogs (RIP) that we had - they gave us lots of wonderful memories and they were loved very much. I’m not sure if we’ll get another one, but if we do, it won’t be until DD19 graduates from college.

#2 - I’m grateful for Disney and all the wonderful things that have come from this company. This company has given me so much happiness and so many memories that started when I was a little girl.

#3 - I’m grateful for the doctor I work for - he’s a wonderful man that has been so understanding about my crazy schedule outside of work. I’ve had to leave work early many times and take several days off and he always understands - he’s great!

3 things I’m grateful for that begin with “D”:

1) The doctors who have treated my husband for melanoma and his wonderful endocrinologist who treats him for his type I diabetes. He is blessed with a wonderful medical team.

2) My Dad. He’s been so supportive my entire life and I’m incredibly grateful for him.

3) My dogs, the ones who have passed and our current pup. They’ve all had such different personalities and have brought so much joy to our lives.

D Things:

1. DVC—many wonderful vacation memories.
2. Dad—a constant, steady presence in my life, always in my corner.
3. Dinner—usually the time that we connect as a family over a meal with the kids who are here at the time, occasionally a friend/boyfriend of one of the kids and sometimes my dad.

3 things you're grateful for that begin with D

1 Dad! I am so blessed every day that God gives dad and I to go through life together in health and most of all with Him!

2 My grandma's name started with a D and of course in memory of my beloved dog Champ and friend named Dean.

3 Dear family and friends all-around including each of you.
