Three Things...Gratitude Thread

R things I’m grateful for:

1) my Dad whose first name begins with R, which is also my son’s middle name. My Dad has been incredibly supportive my entire life, of course in my youth, but also as an adult, including paying for our wedding, helping with house repairs, support when my Mom passed (they were divorced), to supporting my kids. I’m very lucky and so grateful to have him as my Dad.

2) rainbows. Such a special treat to see one and even more so if you can catch a double rainbow.

I can’t think of a third R right now. I’ll edit later. Have a great Sunday everyone!

Okay. I'm so far behind on this, I'm not even going to try to catch up on all of them (I don't think...) but I'll do a few I missed. And any "time sensitive" ones (i.e. "new" or "today") reflect today, when I'm posting, not the date the prompt was posted.

3 New things (12/26)
1. 300 new believers from the conference I volunteered for
2. My new sloth pillow/stuffed animal that's just perfect for hugging when I'm sleeping
3. My newfound ability to solve a Rubik's cube! (Got one for Christmas)

Wood (12/29)
1. Trees
2. My house
3. The cross (or the reminder/results, at least)

Letter F (12/30)
1. Family
2. Friends
3. Faith/Faithfulness

3 old acquaintances you are/were grateful for (12/31)
1. Many of my elementary school classmates. The way the year-round schedule worked at my school, we were put in classes by neighborhoods, so approximately 1/2 of my elementary years were with the same group of kids, so we got pretty close.
2. My first co-workers at my first "real" job after college. I only had that job for a few months before moving on, but they were a great group of people.
3. The kids I grew up at church with. Some of them I'm still pretty close to, others I haven't heard from in years.

Three Quiet Times or Spaces (1/2)
1. The quiet of snow
2. My Bible and novel reading time before bed, but really reading in general
3. Prayer

3 Cuddly Things You're Grateful For (1/6)
1. My new sloth pillow/stuffed animal (Yes, I know I already mentioned him, but I can't NOT put it here too... Also, thanks to the suggestion of a friend, his name is Phil, or Phil O. Slothical. 😆 ) Since it's been mentioned twice, I'm going to try to edit this and add pictures after I post (so I can add from my phone.)
2. My various fleece throws
3. All my other stuffed animals. I've got an Olaf, and he loves warm hugs, so... you know.

Things that can fly (1/7)
1. Eagles. They are so majestic, and one of my favorite Bible verses is Is. 40:30-31, which mentions eagles. (Going to try to add another picture of a word art print I had made for this verse)
2. Planes
3. Cardinals, because they are my baseball team. (The birds fly, sometimes their bats make the balls faly, and the team flies on planes.)

Letter R (1/8)
1. Rainbows
2. Reading
3. Radiology - So many amazing medical technologies for diagnosis and treatment because of radiology!75C50861-794F-4635-B599-223CEDE56770.jpeg55A9BB07-DC4E-4519-BD44-76D65C51C0D7.jpeg9C76B9F0-9EEB-4E5E-81AD-DD4FDE5AA97D.jpeg

Ooh. Good one ! I enjoy almost all times of music with a couple exceptions
I just can’t get into Opera or death metal and I really don’t care for rap - but otherwise I’m pretty fair game

Mariachi
Any kind of island music
Tribal Music
Any of that Spa calming music
Sympathy Music
Christmas music
Disney Music ❤️❤️

Music -

1. I listen to most genres with 80s pop and 90s R&B my faves

2. My autistic nephew playing the piano

3. DD singing. Now, she can't carry a tune in a bucket (got it honestly), but still love to hear it. She sings a lot of commercial such as Daisy Cottage Cheese... @WDWEPCOT hope that doesn't get stuck in your head lll

Happy Monday DIS Friends

Music is always an emotional trigger for me, so I’m grateful for all of it.

#1 - I’m grateful for the music at Mass and for those that give of their time and talent to share their gift of music with us.

#2 - I’m grateful for all the little kid music that my girls and I listened to in the car - Disney, Barney, Sesame Street and on and on. The memories of their little voices singing along in the backseat are priceless and get me chocked up thinking about it.

#3 - I’m grateful for The Michael Buble Channel on Pandora - it is the only thing I listen to in the pool and it’s the only time I can say I’m completely relaxed. Just 5 more months until we open the pool - I can hardly wait

#4 - I’m going to add a 4th today. I’m grateful for all the times in the past that I could listen to my DD24 sing at church, school choir, theater, at her voice lesson and on her own. She used to sing Let it Go like she was straight out of Frozen (that’s not an exaggeration). She sung it at her singing recital and everyone was amazed. She used to sing the Star Spangled Banner for events and she was flawless. She gave it up and quit singing, which is very sad, but she’s her own person - it is what it is

Music? How am I going to stick to just 3?!

I'm so grateful for music, generally.

Christmas music 80s music Classical music (strings, clarinet, piano...) Film music Disney Music
Musicals music(!) Soul Music Rock music Pop music Country music...

I'm grateful for all the people who spent hours practising to become masters of their musical instruments.

I'm grateful for soulful voices ...Too many to list!

I'm grateful for energetic musical performances: Chris Martin (Coldplay), Bruno Mars, Sam Ryder, Queen. etc. etc..

I'm grateful for amazing composers: Mozart, John Williams, John Barry, Elton John, Alan Menken, The Sherman Brothers; Richard Rogers; Irving Berlin etc. etc.

And for something different, I discovered this Scottish indie-folk band recently

Music:

1. Grateful my children and I were all fortunate enough to go to schools with great musical departments. Although none of us are particularly musically inclined, I was glad we all got to try playing an instrument to see if that was our “thing”.

2. Christmas music: always puts me in the spirit.

3. As a child of the 80’s who spent hours making mix tapes, I will always be grateful for the ease at which we can now make playlists on our phones.

Birdsong, one of the nicest things about my backyard 🦜
Oh yes, birdsong! I hadn't even thought of that.
3.Oceans(Where feet may fail) by Hillsong-I am not religious, but this song? whew! I walked down the aisle to the lullaby version
I like this one, too. :thumbsup2 I must hunt out the lullaby version.

Music You're Grateful For

1 Children lifting their voices in praise to God especially in a Christmas worship service but always.

2 Traditional Christmas music such as Holy Night.

3 I am not a classical music fan at all. I am grateful that my dad finds peace and enjoyment through it and playing the piano. He's very knowledgeable about so many composers, too.
