Three Things...Gratitude Thread

3 random things you're thankful for

1 Dad was able to park much closer to a doctor's office this morning. This was an added blessing since it's been pouring here.

2 Touching story of kindness to a Walmart employee I watched earlier thanks to a dear Dis friend sharing.

3 Our new Asus laptop that we set up earlier today is so far working much better for us than a laptop with a much smaller screen size that we returned did.

1. The small world and crazy connections you find out about or create here on the DIS. I feel like I know many of you and that if I needed something (support, a shoulder), you'd be there.

2. My daughter's giggles. No matter how good or bad things may be, hearing her giggle from the depths of her heart makes anything better. Also, she will say, "Mama, make me something to eat that will warm my soul."

3. That God allowed scientists, doctors, and researchers to develop modern medicine. Unfortunately I take a LOT of meds to address my late diagnosed bipolar disease, but I am back to "me" after many years.

Grateful for:

1) Friends (including those here)
I love all these! :love::love::love:

And eksmama01, I'm glad you found the help you needed to find yourself again.

My teaching career, while at times is very stressful, is very fulfilling. When covid hit, many of my friends retired. I, instead of taking early retirement, changed grades and recommitted myself to my profession. Now I cannot imagine ever retiring.

My SUV which is very comfortable and handles well no matter the weather.

Pedicures.

My students’ giggles when I do or say something silly.

Sunshine.

Ocean.

Summer.

Hey everyone!
I’m showing up late to yesterday’s topic - I had a crazy busy day

#1 - I’m grateful for my DD19’s laugh - she has the best laugh

#2 - I’m grateful for knowing many people. Sometimes it has its disadvantages, like when I want to run in and out of a store, but get delayed because someone sees me and wants to catch up. But in the end, I know how blessed I am to have so many people in my life (makes up for having a super tiny family - LOL)

#3 - I’m grateful for The Catholic Channel Sirius XM 129. I’ve been listening every day for almost a year and I’ve learned so much, and some of the priests and people on there are pretty darn funny. Recently they’ve been broadcasting from Rome because they’ve been there for Pope Benedict’s funeral - so interesting hearing about what was happening there.

Cuddly Things:

#1 - My cats (one of whom is cuddled up ON my arm right now, so I'm typing with one hand  ) Their cuddles are the best!

#2 - Super soft Cuddle Duds blankets MIL got all of us last year. It is SO fuzzy and warm!

#3 - pajamas and fluffy slippers at the end of the day!

Today's Topic (Fri 1/6) - 3 Cuddly Things You're Grateful For

1. All of my cats, but especially the smallest one, Bug, she crawls up on my chest with her head on my shoulder purring every day.
2. A warm fleece blanket while watching tv on cooler nights
3. An old Disney t shirt that I have had for over 30 years. It's worn and threadbare, yet it's the cmost comfy thing to sleep in

1. My new bed, pillows, and bedding.

2. My Lhasa Apso, may he rest in peace. My DD’s BFF’s puppies who we pet sit. All dogs. I am a dog lover and sadly don’t currently have one because we’re not home most of the time. The first thing that I will do when I eventually retire will be to get a fur baby. (We’re all severely allergic to cats, so they aren’t an option).

3. My faux fur winter coats. I enjoyed my winter white one so much that I bought a black one too. It gives me wardrobe options. I love that coat especially because I bought it the day of my DD’s last fashion show at Lord & Taylor. The pandemic began the next day. The store closed permanently during lockdown.:sad2::sad1::sad:

Grateful for

1) A cute Disney fleece blanket that’s just right for this time of year that I picked up serendipitously last month. It came to FL with me and I used it in bed and on the plane. Now it’s perfect to throw over my shoulders if I’m chilly.

2) My doggies are gold cuddlers. My little one lays up against my legs and keeps them warm. My big one, a rescue, is learning how, and comes at you with his head and barrels into you, but stays for scratches and kisses. It has to be hm that comes to you, though, otherwise he gets scared if you go to hug him sometimes, but he’s getting better. I don‘t think he had that before. 🙁

3) My DH. Last night we had the dogs out in the cold rain and when we came back to the car, my hands were like ice. DH took my hands in his and warmed them up. :lovestruc

TGIF DIS Friends!!!

I like cuddly things :goodvibes

#1 - I'm grateful for this quilt like blanket my dad gave me when I was around 12 or 13 years old. I use it every night, during cold weather months, when watching TV - it's a relic and I love it!!!

#2 - I'm grateful for the 14 1/2 years that I could cuddle with my Sophie dog. She would sit with me every night, on the above blanket, when watching TV. Sometimes I would get so hot with her on me, but I would just let her stay - I do miss her every day.

#3 - I'm grateful for my sweaters - I love love love my sweaters. I hate the winters, but I love my winter weather clothes.
