We’re doing a family trip in 2022 and staying in the BCV. It will be me, my wife, son and family and daughter and family. I have an MDE account and am trying to figure out if I can link all three reservations and add my family to it or if they need to have their own MDE accounts.

Anyone have experience with this?

They will all need their own MDE accounts anyway for tickets, mobile ordering, etc. The parents can make the kids accounts and check a box to have control over the accounts.

I agree that it's useful for each family to have their own MDE account. Just make sure everyone including the kids is linked to everyone else in the Family and Friends list, boxes are checked to allow everyone to share plans and make plans for everyone else, and boxes are checked to allow everyone to see everyone else's photos. Each resort reservation would be linked to the individual family staying in that room.

The alternative, of course, is to have them all log into your MDE account. Some families handle it that way quite successfully.

We have traveled with extended family and each family has their own account. You just have to mark your MDE accounts to share everything and you are good to go. You would still be able to do everything for them, including order their Magic Bands and park reservations, etc. Then each family will be able to control their MDE accounts which would be very useful if they ever decided to travel to WDW in the future. :)

So I created two new accounts for my son and daughters families. I linked their reservations and family so that went okay. Now I’m trying to link them all in my family and friends so that I can make all the park, diner reservations etc. it’s not letting me add them to my Friends & Family list. I tried importing them through their hotel reservation numbers but it didn’t work. Is it because they are BCV with rented points? Do I add their names individually? If so, how are they connected through their reservation?

This really has me puzzled.

We do this often...I would do 3 MDE accounts if for no other reason just for the ability to charge to ur room. If no one is charging back to room and there's no dining plan then it really probably doesn't matter.

The Disney tech dept is really good at straightening out these problems. :) I had a problem connecting my son's MDE account to our trip and they straightened it out.

I am a little confused over how these MDE accounts are set up. If you have total control over these three MDE accounts, then you should be able to grant permission to share all activities. So, I am stumped. :)

Is there’s separate phone number for tech support?
