Oh, and reading about green things that you pick out of your nose first thing in the morning is not good!

Hi everybody! I'm here at the library and wanted to check in and say hello. We're having a blast. Hope y'all are well too. I'll be "back" Saturday night or Sunday evening, depending on how long the :laundy: takes on Saturday. TTYL!!

M&N, Racetrack and Pepper... My, oh my did you guys have some fun last night! :lmao:

And M&N - I've been flashed.

Hi, Whgrn!

Will try to be back later...

Hey guys :wave2:

I have been stalking the thread regarding the DVC Christmas tree swap. Considering that I was the 1st to post; less than 30 seconds after it began, you might say "stalk" is correct. I had been on since 6 am but I got one!:cool1: I feel like I won the lottery:cool1: I'm easily impressed.:goodvibes

Well, today DH and I are "girding our loins" for tomorrow night.
Silly us, we agreed to let DD have 7 friends (think: frenzied, non-stop-eating, screeching, running-around-the-house-in-wet-bathing-suits, scaring poor Winkleman, using-15-colors-of-nail-polish-on-my-beige-carpet-11year old girls) :scared1:
Dang, I knew DH and I shouldn't have opened that 2nd bottle of wine that Friday night 3 weeks ago. DD always "knows" when to ask for these things at that point:laughing:

She is so funny:love: "planning" this.
She and the girls have most of the entertainment and food worked out. I just have to buy from their lists today. She has to clean the house in exchange. DH got off easy-the pool is already clean-sterile actually-and ya'll know why!! We love him even though he put the "hyphen" in anal-retentive. He will probably be doing Dance, Dance Revolution with them too.:rotfl2: He is their live entertainment.:rotfl2:

Anyone have any good ideas for breakfast? We have muffins and fruit salad, I was thinking of a breakfast casserole(made the night before). I could use some fresh ideas.

First of all... Good luck!

As for breakfast, what about Breakfast Pizzas? If you get pre-made small crusts, each girl could make her own. (You can scramble up eggbeaters the night before, and have a bowl of that, plus bowls of cheese, chopped up peppers, crumbled bacon, or whatever else standing by.) Then, all they have to do is grab a crust put on the egg and toppings, sprinkle some cheese and pop 'em in the oven.

I'm also a huge fan of breakfast pigs in a blanket. (A pankcake rolled around a sausage w/ syrup to dip it into.)

Yummm... my cereal w/ strawberries this morning is paling w/ my current breakfast imagination... thank goodness its almost lunch time.

Great ideas! I will run Breakfast Pizzas by DD. I love pigs in a blanket too! I make a recipe (from Paula Dean) called Piggy Pudding(sausage, apples, cornmuffin mix-baked and served with warm maple syrup) for tailgating but I didn't think of pigs in a blanket and it's finger food too!

Oooo. That "Piggy Pudding" sounds good. Would you mind passing on that recipe?

D&D...I just go to Lego.com and then click SHOP. On the right hand side there will be a SALE tag that you click on and it takes you to the sale items. And if you like Lego in general, they have an adorable lego brick lunch box and backpack. They have some hard core Star Wars stuff on there. I want the Luke Skywalker figure. Again, I highly recommend the bag charms, a steal at $5! I got the milennium falcon and its a good size!

Funny, I have another wedding in August, and the couple are Luke and Leah!

(I also named my dog Vader)

Thanks so much. I will get over there and check it out.
Luke & Leah....dog named Vader...:lmao: You always make me smile!

I actually jumped online to look up a Moonbounce Adventure place near us. It seems that next Thurs. DSs daycare is going to take him on his first field trip! :scared1: (We got the permission form today.) I can't believe my little guy is going on a field trip. (Insert sniffling Mommy smiley here.)

Am I being silly?
TTFN!

You are not silly, just being a mom! :lovestruc We moms worry more about things the kids usually have a blast doing. I am also glad everything is going fine w/ baby lighttech.

Racetrack beat me to the Tony Stewart thread. I must have been typing when she posted.

Sorry Pikester---I was going to save you from being a TK but I didn't know what to say...someone wanting a code.

Now, now ladies...play nice.

Okay...I have to catch up here. Only on pg115 so I'll quote some more later.

Oh, I have been meaning to ask you guys. Do any of you subscribe to the Yahoo group "The Mouse For Less"?

Basically I get emails from people asking questions and answering them similar to the questions on here.

It is really neat I mean where else can you learn that putting a "sticky" over an automatic toilette will stop it from flushing automatically thus not scaring their children? :rotfl:

I personally have never noticed they would scare children, maybe mine are too old and I guess I would have bigger problems if my 17YO were scared of a self flushing toilette.

My DS6 is VERY FRIGHTENED of self flushing toilets and won't use one if it does.

Thanks. I am proud of her.

Sorry to jump in here and then exit but............

We are alone this week and.......................

DH just went to bed.

Hope that's not TMI :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh Shmu...you sly fox.
knuddel.gif

Hope you had a wonderful evening.
You can be soooo proud of that DD of yours!

M&N Those slimies are sooooo gross, but I vote for #2 if I have to. Shame on a respected librarian for flashing people

Bopsmom - Good luck w/ that sleepover. Sleepovers scare me.

Magikitty-
I keep forgetting to post about the wedding. Those are such great pics! You look beautiful! (I like that color too. One of my best friends who got married a few years ago chose a similar color. I wasn't too excited about the dress style, but the color looked great on everybody.)

Oooo. That "Piggy Pudding" sounds good. Would you mind passing on that recipe?

Here it is. I copied from the Food Network

Recipe Summary
Difficulty: Easy
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 40 minutes
Yield: 4 to 5 servings

Piggy Pudding Recipe courtesy Paula Deen
Show: Paula's Home Cooking
Episode: Here Piggy, Piggy

16 link pork sausages
4 to 5 tart apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 (7 1/2-ounce) package yellow cornbread mix, batter prepared according to package directions
1 cup maple syrup, for serving
Fresh sage, for garnish

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
Cook sausages in a skillet until done, piercing with a fork to let out fat. Drain and then arrange in a 9-inch square baking dish. Layer sliced apples on top. Pour corn bread batter over all and bake for approximately 30 minutes or until corn bread is done. Serve with warm maple syrup and garnish with sage.

Note:
I cut up the links before I arrange them in the bottom of the pan. Only because it makes serving it easier.

Here is the pic I sent to Shmu. I am cutting out some things for my class, right before work, last school year (I am so last minute) My DH snapped it on me. My Dis'ing computer is in the background along w/ my old fashioned corded phone. :lmao:

Now it's back to :laundy: so I can finish packing. 2 more days!

That looks great, thanks.

Nice Pic! And, I think i have that phone... Our cordless won't work in a storm, so I refuse to get rid of it.

I never heard of it. I'm going to have to check it out.
I knew about the post-it notes for the potty. I have to deal with that one and both DD12 and I carry post-its in our purses for public bathrooms. :rotfl: Now that I have had to deal with it, I understand the fear. Imagine being small enough that you have to balance yourself on the seat and right when you are in the "middle of your business", the darn thing flushes and flushes loudly. :rotfl: I'd be scared too if I had never had that happen before.
I understand that fear but mine was of the outhouse. I was always afraid that I would fall in..A few years ago I realized that my butt was too big to fall through. ::rotfl2:
Vote for your favorite...Polls are open until lunch tomorrow. :rotfl:

I vote for #1 as the grossest. :scared:

lighttechit's normal to worry about your children just don't let your fear interfere with their opportunity to explore their world. :thumbsup2

Just wanted to let you all know I did sign the permission form and turn it in today... I really had no intention of not letting him go... Just basically worrying out loud. (You guys all listen instead of just rolling your eyes like DH does... ;) He's good for me really, we both sort of reality check each other b/c I always worry about the worst, and he always assumes everything will magically work out... maybe I need to stop solving his problems... :rolleyes1 :rotfl: )

Ok, so I missed my usual morning greeting and the place has gone crazy!

lighttech, thanks for the compliments. I really had no choice in the color, it was all I could find back in December, but it worked out well! And congrats on the field trip for the little guy. It just sounds so cute. Big hugs from me.

What's all this talk about automatic toilets? Where is it? I've used them in Korea, and can I tell you, it is completely worth the thousands of dollars they charge for them. They have seat warmers, rear washers, fans to dry you off, super flush and disinfect and seats that cover themselves with plastic covers. Super cool! Some even play music while you're "occupied" so no one knows what going on...

I refuse to use outhouses too. Even if my butt is too big--they're just scary!

My big butt may have to do with Miss Paula Deen. Her recipes are fantastic! I may have to try the piggies. Sounds Dee-vine!

D&D! Your pic is so pretty! You look like an advertisement. and you and lighttech are right for keeping those corded phones. We had that statewide brownout a few years ago and no one had phone service except those who had corded phones. Good to have in an emergency. Even if you keep it in a closet, at least you know you can always call if you have to.

Hi whgrn! Glad to hear you're having a wonderful time!

Racetrack and M&N....you're both so entertaining in the evenings. I'll have to get online more often after dark.....

Bopsmom, you're very brave to have so many over for a sleepover. But your daughter will forever thank you for it. So much of my teen years were spent giggling into the night with my girlfriends. Some of the best memories. Just don't have them too often--they'll eat you out of house and home! My house always had "emergency" cookies and ice cream for when the girls decided to stay...and stay....and stay over!
