weird name issues with DVC site and reservations

We've had DVC for years now, no previous issues - suddenly all the reservations I'm making with only ONE of our memberships (we have two for different use years), when I put the reservations into the regular Disney site, it's telling me I can't check-in, and to contact (myself) because the reservation was made my me with my middle initial, and the regular site doesn't display my middle initial.
The reservations made with the other use year are normal.

It also won't let me do my dining reservations this morning, which is great. I did try with two different accounts that are on the reservation.

But has anyone else has Disney suddenly start thinking they are two different people, after years of nothing being wrong? I don't know if this is DVC or Disney's main site so don't even know which phone hell to get stuck in.

It's showing me that the reservation I have for 8 people now has someone ELSE in the room with my name minus the middle name. Ugh. I can't stand Disney tech. Something broke and I'm now two people.

Did you modify these reservations in the 2 or 3 months? There was an issue (it is fixed now) where if you modified a reservation then it would unlink the lead guest in MDE. You can fix this with a chat w/member services or with the chat on the WDW site. This has been fixed in the last couple of weeks, but it would not be retroactive to reservations modified during the bug time.

Maybe completely unrelated -

I ran out of points and called 407-W-DISNEY the other day because I was thinking about booking a hotel room rather than a DVC room.

The guy I spoke to said that I have numerous profiles in the Disney system. He said that's common for people who make a lot of reservations. He doesn't know exactly when or why it happens; he said I would need to talk to Disney IT if I have questions. He said the tip-off for him was that my phone number did not appear in the profile that he pulled up.

Anyway, maybe that has nothing to do with your issue, but it's what I thought of when I read your post.

I haven't called Disney IT in a long time, but I have the number saved in my phone as:
407-939-4357.

Thank you for the IT number.

I asked when I called about my dining reservations because she could see it should all be one person, and didn't see a duplicate person in their system but we determined I either need to talk to IT (didn't have the time right then) or see if it's something on DVC's end.

I added a person a few weeks ago - but the change to where I can't do check-ins or anything happened within the past week. I know because as soon as I added a person I redid the "link a reservation" page and it makes you put all the people in.

For some reason, and I suspect it was overnight last night, the website renamed me and all of my reservations with a certain membership's points my husband and I were no longer linked. I could only see the reservations because the rest of our party was on there, but it was like there was a phantom version of both of us. So weird. But I'm going to call DVC to see if this is somehow related to whatever shenanigans they've had going on there.

Yes, this happened to us. A phantom version of me was on the DVC reservation, and I could see our reservation on MDE because of DH, but it said for me to link, and then couldn't. Front Desk at BWV cleared it up when we checked in.
Very weird.
Hopefully, since it wasn't just me, DVC and WDW IT can start working on a fix.
This had never happened before (DVC members since 2016).

Ugh - for some reason the WDW site changed my name to add a middle initial.

They changed something and now want me to clear ALL browsing history and all cookies, then log in again and see if it's better. (sort of a PIA because this is my work computer... here comes a long day of re-logging in to the entire world)

So we'll see what happens.

Yup! I modified a reservation and put what I thought was the exact same info in, but it was acting like I was two different people. The only thing that looked different to me was one was all in CAPS and the other wasn't. It had unlinked me as the lead guest. I called member services and they took care of it (although the cast member was kind of rude at first, but she made it all work).

You can just try an Incognito window.

This was the bug introduced a few-ish months ago (whenever the interface for booking new reservations was tweaked (rectangular buttons instead of rounded buttons). It was fixed recently as I modified a reservation last week and my name didn't change to all caps in MDE.

Ok, I sat being annoyed for a few minutes about the idea of messing up all my work passwords (realized I had a good number I would need to reset completely), then went back to working for a few hours and it LOOKS like everything is working ok.

I also verified that whatever the heck this was didn't mess with our moonlight magic reservation. :scared: It's still there, so I don't need to go axe throwing or whatever this evening.

I didn't reset all my cookies because I don't have time for that crap and as a solution it doesn't really make sense. But that was yet another random glitch in the world of reasons 60+ day ADRs might not work.

This has recently happened to me and I went to another thread to ask about it. I had issues with my check-in not showing and I had to go in and modify it. It was stating that the reservation was made by Nancy E Nolan, which is me but my reservation with name with avatar wasn't showing. Turns out I had to relink the reservations and use the drop down to add my name with the avatar under Mrs. Nancy E Nolan, so I don't know what happened. It didn't happen with my cash reservation, only my DVC one.

"UPDATE: I had to fiddle around with this a bit but if anyone has this issue in the future, then try to relink the reservations. They were already linked to MDE but for some reason I had to link them again. It could be that I made a name correction modification on one of the reservations. :confused3

Speaking of check-in, is anyone else seeing the absence of the check-in on their DVC reservations on MDE? I just noticed this last night and I also had an issue signing in. Instead of the check in button on the far right, I'm seeing a message to call. I am signed in to my own account so I don't know why this is showing. I'm a bit concerned. I'm also noticing that my Wall-E avatar is not showing.

Note: The check-in button is showing on my cash reservation at GDT, just not my 2 DVC reservations."

Try relinking reservations and using drop down for adding names.

I did do that, it was weird to have to go through it because it won't let you add the reservation in the first place without selecting all the people.
It seems like the bottom line is that MDE randomly decided to change how I do my name. In theory they think they fixed it, so we'll see if it pops back up again.

If it’s new. The issue is most likely with AI. You know. Technology that know everything and then some. It appears it cannot do the job a human did.
