This show always feels like it rushes by so quickly. I watch the show probably twice because so many lines or looks or nuances are so important that I watch them over and over again.

I really like Denis O'Hare so I'm glad to see him here.

William is in his twilight now..so sad.

I'm glad Toby will be ok, he was funny this week.

I need to process more and wait for others thought too

I get the absolute fear of finding out you're having multiples (lived it) but had one of my parents spoken about my husband like that I would have walked away. I suppose they're setting up to show us how she grows but I can't even explain how much that upset me.

I knew the Kevin/Sloan/Olivia thing was going to happen. I guess we're stuck with Olivia whether we like it or not.

I'm glad Kate realized she loved Toby but I just can't seem to warm up to him.

William going off treatment isn't a good sign.

Right before this happened she said she was going to get gastric bypass. She has not said or implied that's she isn't. That said, obesity usually stems from much more than just eating. Surgery is not a cure and won't do much to help if the underlying issues aren't addressed. I have three family members who have had it while pretty much phoning in the mental side so they could get it. All three have gained it back.

My dd-22 really cannot stand Kate and said she is very desperate. I don't mind Kate and know she has her own issues.
I told my dd her weight stems from much more but maybe my dd just doesn't get it yet.

It was interesting to see Jack and his dad and I told my dd while watching it that he was just using his dad, which I believe
I was correct since when Jack walked out of his house, he had a little smirk on his face like he duped him. He just doesn't care
what his father thinks of him and just used him for the money.

We both felt last night was very lack luster. Maybe we were hyping it up to ourselves waiting for it to come back on.

Mine started exactly on time. I watched the President's address on NBC to make sure so that I could adjust the recording if I needed to. BUT my cable lost signal a couple of times during the show, so I'm going to need to re-watch on line to see what I missed.

One of the times my cable cut out was the conversation that Kevin was having with Olivia. I just saw her walk away at the end but then Sloan seemed upset, too. So, I think I missed something important.

I'm warming up to Toby a little. As in, I still don't like him, but I can see that Kate loves him, so I'll be accepting. His personality just isn't my type, but he's not a bad person at all.

I don't find that hypocritical at all. First, did she make a decision not to get the gastric bypass surgery? That may have been when my cable cut out. Previously, she was set to get it, but everyone around her was second-guessing her decision. Even if she did decide not to get it, I think there is a huge difference between the gastric bypass surgery and heart repair. Also, I don't think she's ready for gastric bypass yet. She needs to work through some things before jumping straight to surgery. There is such a mental component to weight loss. She may be able to lose the weight without surgery once she gets a handle on some of her mind games. If not, then surgery would be a tool for her, but she still has to work on the mental side of it. There is no mental side to Toby's surgery.

And, yes, Jack straight out lied to his father for the money. He told his father what he wanted to hear and completely humbled himself in front of that abusive man so that he could provide for his family. I don't think it was "duping" him. He never promised him anything nor tried to act like he was fostering a relationship. He told his father that he needed the money for gambling debts and that his father was right that he turned out worthless. He doesn't want his father in his life, and he father really doesn't care about Jack's life other than being able to feel superior to him.

When Sloan walked away upset, it was because she heard Kevin say to Olivia something to the effect "sometimes you just have to do what's right, even if you don't want to". Sloan was standing listening to their conversation and heard Kevin say that to Olivia.

Kevin was telling Olivia that he was going to keep Sloan on the play because she's talented and worked really hard for it. As he's saying this, Sloan is overhearing. This of course makes her happy. Then Olivia says, what about us and Kevin says he's going to continue to date Sloan because they like each other, she's smart and funny etc. But then he says, "Sometimes you have to do the right thing." I took it and I'm assuming both woman took it as he'd prefer to be with Olivia but just dumping Sloan because she's back would be wrong.

Ok, not to be too much of a geek about this, but I think they are off on the whole "diet coke" thing in this show. The kids are supposed to be 36 right? Which means they were born (assuming this is reasonably real time), in 1980 or so, right? 1980 plus 36 years equals 2016. Maybe 1979? So, this show with mom at lunch would be either 1978 or 1979 most likely. And, what do you know, they are ordering a diet coke. Except diet coke wasn't marketed until July 1982. So, there you go. Not possible. LOL. It was bugging me that it was out of sequence with real events of that time. I don't remember being "obsessed" with diet vs. non-diet drinks when I was in high school or even college which got me thinking that there must not have been diet drinks (other than Tab, remember that?) during that time. And, sure enough I was right.

ETA: This also fits with the idea that they were conceived during the Super Bowl, in January 1979. So born in late 1979. Impossible for that to have been diet coke.
