Good morning, having just returned from AKL we took a tour of the YC and well let's just say DH is convinced, so that is our next stop. I didn't get a really good chance to look around the gift shop but is any of the art work in the rooms available there so that I could call WDW merchandising. Thanks for the info.

I have one question:
I've read that the Yacht and Beach Club resorts have croquet and bocce courts. Where are they located? Are guests at other hotels allowed to use these recreational facilties? If so, are they free to guests not staying at the Yacht and Beach Club hotels? Please answer.
Best Wishes,

Sorry can't answer your question, but have one of my own.

Maybe GoofyJoofy can answer this one-How is the concierge floor laid out-where is the lounge located?

The concierge staff sent me a flyer for the resort and it does list tennis courts & volleyball courts available for the YC/BC guests. We'll be there in 2 weeks, so I can definitely check on that for you.

I found this great site for the floor layout of the YC. It's http://www.disneyzone.net/ycresort.htm. Just scroll down and you'll see the images for the different floors. Click on 4th & 5th floor. Once that opens up, move your mouse over the picture. You should see a sizing tool pop up (square with arrows) just click on it and the image will be large enough to read all the fine details.

If you walk from the front entrance of the BC through the lobby and out the back door, the volleyball court is to your left, SAB is to your right. To get to the tennis court, you go through the YC to their quiet pool. When you walk down the hall and through the side door, the tennis court is to your right and the quiet pool to your left.
Funny, in all the times we've been to BC/YC we have never seen either being used.
Haven't seen any bocce or croquet areas but then again I never asked (or looked).

Tammi, on the map, it doesn't label where the lounge is located-can you give me an idea of what the room numbers are around it?

Hi mom_rules... At BC, the concierge staff desks and the CL lounge are located right near the elevators. We stayed in room #5661 which was just perfect -- down a half-hallway from the lounge. If you're staying LV, I think 5659, 5661, 5663 & 5665 all have full balconies. These rooms overlook the Cresent Lake entrance to BC and you can see the BWI across the way. There is also another short hallway of rooms to the right of the CL staff desk area (also numbered in the 5600s.)

There is also a longer hallway of rooms (5700 series) that stretch toward YC but these seem to be the farthest from the lounge.

Hope that helps a bit...

The only part that was closed was the section of the pool closest to the yacht club. The slide and every thing else was open

Thanks for the pix! Did you upgrade to the Deluxe room or was it included with your package? Also, did the room include concierge service?

Thanks! :)
We booked a standard room through AAA and when we got there we were upgraded to this room. We didn't have the concierge service but they did come in our room every night and turned down our bed. I think I'm going to try and rebook this room again in the future. Way better then the last one we had.

We just got back From the YC and Stormalong bay did not look bad like I thought it would due to the rehab going on. We did not go swimming but to just look around you would not really know anything was going on. We forgot about it even.
The work being done on the front wasn't really all that bad either. It did not take away from our fist visit there at all. The place is wonderful and we will be going back next year!!!
We just loved it there and all it had to offer. Not to mention the cast members were outstanding!!!!!

We just returned from our stay at the Yacht Club (12/9-12/13). SAB rehab was in the lazy river section of the pool, but it really didn't distract from it's use. We only had one day that you would call a pool day, the temp was up in the mid-70's, but cloudy and rainy. Both kids swam for about an hour and my youngest DD loved the slide. I'm actually kind of glad that the weather wasn't better for swimming, because this pool complex is my worst nightmare. DD is 8, independent and a good swimmer, but they have to cross over the open walkway to get to the slide and it was difficult trying to keep track of where she was in the pool. I don't think I sat down once while she was swimming.

I know that previous posters have mentioned re-siding going on. We saw them do Hurricane Hannahs and it was done within a day. The other area that looked like it was being worked on was over by the service entrance. Still looked like they had roof shingles to replace from hurricane damage.

We ate lunch at Beaches & Cream. I was amazed that at 12:30, the four of us we were seated immediately at the counter. The food was good, the atmosphere is fun. DH did notice something a bit odd. When our bill came, he removed the customer comment card and found that it was already filled out. He didn't know if it was just left in there mistakenly from a previous customer or if our server had filled it out on his own.

We had a dinner in the Yachtsman Steakhouse and that was terrific. I had the filet mignon and it was like butter. Unfortantely, I didn't have any room for dessert, but they looked excellent.

We stayed on the concierge level and it was okay. I found the food offerings to be very limited and I don't like the fact that they shut the doors of the lounge between offerings. I understand that they need to set up, but this could be easily accomplished without making it inaccessable. The housekeeping staff was very good, but we were on the bottom of the list, so our room was never made up before 2pm. It wasn't a big deal for us though, as we didn't spend much time in our room. We had garden view, but what we saw was basically the parking lot and a roof. The convenience to Epcot and MGM is priceless though.

In looking towards any future trips, I wouldn't rush to book the Yacht Club again. It was nice and the CM's were very friendly, but it didn't have that "wow" factor.

Great review-thanks so much.
Is there any rehab taking place at the BC?

Sorry if this is a repeat but we just made reservations for the BC. They only had waterview rooms available but we justified they expense but "assuming" we could get a room with a balcony to watch Illuminations. I requested a balcony with a view of illuminations when I made the reservations. We will be traveling with a 15 month old, so its pretty important to us to have the request fullfilled so we aren't stuck in a room with no view at her 8PM bedtime.

Does anyone have any recommendations to make sure we aren't disappointed? Our flight doesn't arrive until 6:30PM so I'm concerned we'll just get "What's left"

Thanks in advance!

Can you see Illuminations from any of the concierge rooms at BC? I did request water view - I guess that is the right side, at least?
