This is one of the links that is still working from the first page of faq, http://www.disneyzone.net/ycresort.htm .

amcghfan: I don't recommend requesting a specific room number. For example, if you submit a request for room 4021 and it's already in use, the room assignors will have no idea why you requested it. They'll just move on to the next available room. It's much better to list your requests by priority. So instead let your concierge pre-planner know that #1, you'd like a room near the concierge lounge, #2 a full balcony and #3 a king size bed (or whatever your preferences are. As always, specific requests can't be guaranteed, but they will try to get your first request whenever possible. That's why you should list them by priority.

Thanks for the link!! I'll just request a room close to the lounge. I am not going til Nov. If I request it now will they make note of it or should I e-mail my Pre-planer a week or two before I go. thanks for the help!

:)

Sarah

Hi Sarah,

I would mention it to them now. They'll notate it on your reservation and that's what the room assignor will see. Just follow up with them a few days before you go.

How's your planning going? I've done what I could and now I'm waiting on my 90 day window to finish things up.

Tammi

Yes all the Concierge rooms are on the 5th floor. Although if u want to stay on another floor you can pay for concierge service and be allowed up on the floor.

If you are on the Platinum Plan (formerly the Grand Plan) you receive Concierge floor access as well. We like to stay on the 3rd floor b/c there are more water view rooms.

Also, FYI, we told by the Itinerary Person at YC that there is re-siding going on at YC b/c we couldn't get the room locations we requested. I'm not sure if the hurricane (s) affected the re-siding!
And I believe SAB is starting renovations in November (?)

The re-siding has been going on for a while now. They were doing it in July when we were there but they block off the section of rooms that are affected and we never even noticed it while we were there.

SAB is going to be rehabbed in phases. The first is due to begin in November I believe and they will be finished sometime in February. I was told that only the area's that they were working on would be closed and not the entire pool. The slide is being worked on last, so figure sometime in January for that.

Does anyone know if there is anymore work / construction / rehab planned at yc/ bc after the siding & sab are finished? We are going very early March & want to change resorts if Bc is under work. :( Would switch & stay there in October 05' instead. Just in case. Been through too many disney rehab's to want to go through another, if we know about it ahead of time. ;)

Thanks, Mky princess:

Hi! I'm real new to this posting, so please bear with me. I saw your conversation regarding SAB and rehab. Do you know anymore information about it? My family "magical gathering" is set for Dec. 5th - Dec. 10th at the Beach Club and everyone was so looking forward to SAB. I couldn't imagine how they can close it in sections, anyone know?

Please let me know.

Well I'm totally guessing  But having been to yc /bc and SAB before. I would say that since the pool is actually 3 different sections (not connected) They are probably closing down sections. The 1st section closest to BC has the slide entering, and the circle jets, and air bubbles, goes from very shallow 2'? to about 5' at its deepest and is the largest section. This section meanders over towards the spa's entry and near the beach & cream resturant etc... area's. 2nd section has a short straight area, and then a very deep 10 - 15 ft' ? "river type currant" and is a somewhat of a large circular area that you can tube, swim, float etc.. through. & 3rd section: Very shallow wading type, sand bottom, "kids" pool. Or a good place to sit and catch some rays. ;) . The Whirlpool areas: 1 is the shape of a smaller boat and is between the #2 & # 3 sections. & the Large whirlpool area is a "swim" up area in Section 1, that leads to stairs, in the trees, and a waterfall, and the whirlpool (2) are located on top. ::yes:: Now the entry to the Slide is actually on the beach, on the "ship" (if you've seen pictures) there is a little wading pool thing, small slide section for little ones. on the ship, and the stairs going up. But it comes out in section #1.

I'm really not sure if we want to keep our ressies for March 05 for BC now, cause the pool could still be down. We are holding for now, but wish we would get more info. I hate construction, and BC was under construction last time we were there. So we will change if it still is.

Good luck, MKY hope this helps. princess:

Thank you so much Mkymouse4ever for replying to me. I really appreciated it.

I did in fact speak to the Concierge Itinerary planner today at the B/C and she said the work is supposed to be strictly cosmetics. They are doing repair work on the rock formations around the pool and repair work to the large slide which is part of the shipwreck. She did say the pool will remain operational throughout this work, just certain areas may be sectioned off to be worked on.

I was only to Disney one time before and that was to this same hotel, B/C concierge and my parents came with my family and absolutely LOVED IT and only wanted to go back as long as we stayed in the same place. So, when I saw the talk of rehabs and construction, I got a little nervous that Mom and Dad might not like their morning view of the pool if it was in fact drained to be worked on or covered in scaffolding.

But I guess I am going to have to take my chances.

Once again, thanks for the reply.

I have reserved two rooms for 10 nights in June. I only requested connecting rooms on my original reservation, but I didn't realize that some of the rooms had double beds. I really want queen beds, I'm not even too worried about standing room only balconies. Should I call back and add another request for queen beds or should I just wait until we check in?

Thanks!

I would call as soon as you can. It never hurts to have your requests in early. You can mention it again at check-in, but get it noted on your ressie early.

You don't want them giving away all the Queens before you check-in.

By the way, we just did the BC for the first time this past Aug (2004) and we really loved it. Found it to be a very pretty and relaxing resort.

If this has already been answered, please accept my apologies:

Are all king bed rooms at the YC (other than concierge) rooms with a murphy bed? I'd like to hear from anyone who stayed in the murphy bed rooms - I have heard they are smaller and I wanted to know if I should not press the issue of wanting a king bed. Any comments/suggestions would be welcomed!

Thanks so much!

Two questions:

1) Do all the rooms at BC have day beds or only the double bed rooms. We really need that daybed as my 6 year old turns cartwheels in her sleep!

2) Where are the standard view or garden view smoking rooms. We would like to be near the quiet pool at the BC.

Thanks!!

There is definately still rehab going on at YC. We're going October 23rd to November 1st and our Itinerary Planner said the rooms we requested were unavailable due to the rehab. These were WV rooms in the 306# section of YC. Also, I heard that SAB rehab is starting November 1st. I don't know if the hurricanes affected the rehab plans.

Thanks GoofyJoofy for the reply! I will call soon and add that request. So far I just have connecting rooms on my ressie.

I'm glad you liked the BC. I would love to try concierge but I think I need two rooms for my family of five and that would be way too much money. My kids are older (21,18 and 14) and they are too tall for the day bed. Plus having two tv's and bathrooms would be great for 10 days.
