Hi all, just got back from 3 days at BC - Concierge. We had room 5663. If you are walking up to the BC it is one of the rooms at the peak. Beautiful view of the lagoon. Very short walk from the concierge lounge. 2Q beds, and a day bed.

As it was my daughter and niece's b-days. We had a cake (oh sooo delicious) balloons and cards in the room. The cards were hand signed from the girls fav characters. (Mickey & Cinderella) nice touch !

If something wasn't out in the lounge, they got it. ie, my niece must have drank a case of Apple Juice boxes. When they weren't out, they retrieved them from the kitchen.

Wonderful, wonderful CM members staffed there. Ben, Lauren and Vilma. Answered all 500 questions we had. Helped reschedule arrangements due to rain off and on again. They let us look at the computer screen, and u are right. It shows everything and anything that u've ever called Disney for.

Apparently Concierge bookings are at an all time low, that is why the the BC and Wilderness Concierge are closing. They are thinking that the 100th Celebration has kept summer visitors away in anticipation for the Oct opening. Although they did say that they were revamping the BC concierge.

Looking now to book next trip. Hopefully August.

We put our money down on a BC standard view thru AAA for the week of Nov. 30 to Dec. 7, 2002. They also said that at some of the resorts( All stars) that the AAA rates were going fast, Evidently they have only a block of rooms at some reorts and when they are gone, they are gone. Anyway I told them I wanted a garden view, full balconey non smoking but when the conformation came back it said non smoking, full balconey garden view. Based on what I read on this thread, should I call them to get the priorities correct or just let it stand??..smjj

July 31 Update News

Sighh.... You're not going to believe this, but I guess it's been par for the course lately.

OK for the last two months or so, I've been collecting bits of extra information and finishing up floor plans of the Beach Club guest rooms and room floors. I intended to start posting this stuff on July 31, the one-year anniversary of this thread.

Well, the only way I've been able to post anything on here before is by saving my files as jpeg images, and then uploading them to my webspace...but last time I tried, the option for saving files as jpegs disappeared from my graphics editor program. AAAAAUGH! I tried to upload the files as bitmap images, but WS_FTP wouldn't have it.

I have no idea what is going on, nor do I have ANY other way to get the files on the internet to y'all. If someone could please offer to convert the files to jpegs and then email them back to me for uploading, I would be eternally grateful. I'm sure the rest of the DIS community would be, too...

So if there's anyone out there who wants to help get the belated one-year anniversary update under way (and has the capability to convert a bitmap file to a jpeg), email me at jdiedwardo@enter.net If you email me, I'll immediately send you the bitmap images that need to be converted. Thanks,

JC

I'm switching the last 4 nights of our stay in Sept. from GF Sugar Loaf to YC Lagoon Concierge!

Thanks Joe!

Thanks for all of the information JoeCool. I haven't had the pleasure of staying at these resorts yet but I am interested in trying the Yacht Club someday. Keep up the great work!:)

Thanks to Linda, aka figmentvi, we now have the top two floors of the Beach Club online! Check the new floor plans out... as for the rest of the first July 31 update, well...it's on the way. This stage of the update was supposed to be all at once, but I know y'all will be patient.

Stay tuned,

JC

Joe Cool,

Thanks for the new Beach Club maps of the 4th & 5th floors. I've been waiting for the layout of the 5th floor.

You're the best!

No problema J.C. !!!!

They look great. Good job !!!

Whaddaya think of the first 2 guest room plans I put up last night?

More is on the way,

JC

JC,

I just had a look at your updates to this thread and the room maps are AWESOME!

Thanks to you and all of the other people that helped to make it all possible.

You guys are off the hook!

Wendell :)

we have a standard view sico kng bed, at the Yacht Club for our thanksgiving trip. I see on the floor plans that there are 2 standard view sico rooms on each floor, on the same side as the quiet pool, but can someone tell me how the view is from those rooms??? what are you looking at from the balcony?

also, Joe, I've seen the layout, but do you know the sq. ft of the sico rooms at the YC??

thanks!

Laura :)

Hoolaz,

Whoa! It's been such a busy week...er...month...er...year!? LOL! Thanks you guys for all the kudos (again), I'm working on more room plans to post up on the site. What do y'all think of the new Newport Suite plan I just put up? I'll be away from this Saturday to next Thursday; I'm going on a college interview trip to Notre Dame...wish me luck. After we fly home, I'm going to the Matchbox Twenty/Train/Seven Mary Three concert in Hershey!

Stay cool,

JC

Great job as usual Joe! The plans are great. Good luck on your interview!:bounce:

JC just read your trip reports from your honeymoon.....I am taking parents to Poly in 8 days, belated anniversary gift. Staying Concierge and told the CM that it was belated Anniv. Can't wait to see !!

Aren't you in Penn State territory....thinking of being a FIGHTING IRISH. Great choice.

Thanks

Joe Cool- Though I have stayed at the YC numerous times, come to this site and love to read all of your info. Thanks for your efforts. Leaving for the YC in just 15 days and can't wait.

Ariel...my...HONEYMOON!? Where'd you read that!? I haven't written any trip reports in six months, let alone gone on a honeymoon. Which kind of goes along with the fact that I'm 17. I have a girlfriend of 1 year and 3 weeks, but a honeymoon!? Don't rush me.

Thanks you guys for everything. I just sent out more floorplans to Linda for jpegging (sorry if I'm slow, but I haven't gotten my new system all set up yet...I wanted to get the floorplans up asap)...the Yacht Club Turret Suite, Two-Bedroom Suites, Presidential and Admiral Suites should be online by tonight. After the Captain's Deck floorplan is finished, the first part of this update will be done. Whew.

Later,

JC

I am loving these floor plans, Joe!!! Some of those suites have more square footage than my house! :( Hmmm... I wonder if I tell the CM that our trip next month is a late anniversary celebration (15 years next week) if we could get a surprise upgrade from Lagoon Concierge??? Wouldn't hurt to try!!!

I hope I am doing this right this is the first time I have ever posted to board.

Joe, I just wanted to say this site is awesome. My husband, son - 5 , daughter - 4, parents and of course me will be going to the BC on October 1st. This will be the 3rd trip in 3 years to Disney for my family and the first time for my parents. (The first two trips we stayed at All Star Movies) I had orginally made a reservation for a water view room and requested a lake view. After reading your forum I now have requested adjoining rooms, lake view, queen beds, full balconies, non-smoking and 2nd Floor. I also have composed a letter to fax to the room assignment department 5 days before my trip. I never would have done this without the information in your site. I really want to make this trip special for my mother she is a huge Disney fan and this will probably be her one and only trip to Disney due to money restraints. I gave her a choice between GF, AKL and BC when making reservations and she chose BC. Any suggestions from anyone on making this trip special would be appreciated. Thanks again for all the wonderful information.

P.S. I called the BC directly last week and asked if there was coffee pots in the room or if I could request one and I received a no answer for both. Sometimes it depends on who you talk to.

P.S.S. what is bumping?????
