Do the BCV studios all have balconies? We are thinking of trying a stay at these to see whether we might like to join the DVC.

TIA!

i have seen that great map of the beach club hotel rooms, floor by floor. does anyone know if there is one like it for the villas?
i am looking for a one bedrm villa with two balconies. it seems most do not have balconies off the master bedrm, but there was at least one poster who said they had two balconies.
anyone? thanks!!!

kath1210....all BCV rooms have full balconies (at least one). The studios have a balcony, and the 1bdrms have a balcony off the living room. Someone posted on here that they have stayed in 1bdrms at BCV have two balconies (or, I guess one big one). They may be right, but I own at BCV, and stay there pretty much exclusively now....I have never been so lucky to have a room that has a balcony off the master, and the dvc "member handbook" which shows the layouts of the rooms does not show that as an option (although it does for BWV, where most of the rooms DO have balconies off the master). So, I don't know. I am not saying the other poster is incorrect....just that I have NEVER had one. When you look at an exterior shot of the BCV's there are a LOT of rooms that do not have balconies off of them. Those are the master bedrooms in 1bdrm rooms.

lemstar...I have some GREAT maps with room numbers at the BCV, but they do not show the balcony situation. If I run across any, I will let you know.

We are going the same time as you, Aug 25th. One time I had heard that the top floor had balconies but I'm glad to hear they all do.

I'm trying to get a view of Epcot but I don't know if that is possible for the one bedrooms.

Yes, it is possible, but we are not allowed to request "Epcot view" anymore. Just request "woods view, upper floor" and cross your fingers.

Is this what you are looking for?

I was going to post that as well, but the next part of their question was about finding which rooms had balconies in the master. Those maps do not show balconies.

I think they may be asking for something else.

What a Surprise!
Well, this afternoon I called Member Services, expecting to bank our remaining points for the year when I learned that we could only bank a portion of them and either had to "spend" 150 of them, rent them, or lose them. We're off to AKL in two weeks, so imagine my surprise at having to suddently book another trip before the end of the year.

Well, to make a long story short, we are now booked into the Yacht club, lagoon view, concierge, Thanksgiving week, 11/20-11/25. Oh, my!

Of course I realize that we're way behind on making ADRs, but we'll do our best!

After reading this thread (the last several pages) I am really looking forward to my first stay at the YC in Two weeks!!! Thanks for all your great info!!

OK! Just called and switched from AKL to BC (mostly for the pool) and checking in TOMORROW! LOL Another big reason for the switch is LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!:sunny:
Just can't beat it! :thumbsup2

I've stayed at BCV before, but my nephews have only stayed at ASM -- so I made the switch.

I need to praise the YC IPO team. Just two days ago I booked an entirely unexpected trip to WDW during Thanksgiving week (suddently had to spend some DVC points or lose them!) and as someone who plans her ADRs six months out I was worried about what they could do for me. Well, it turns out they could do lots. They obtained every single one of my requests, right in the ballpark of what I wanted, even on Thanksgiving Day. And they did it all very promptly and with a terrific attitude, even as I sent conflicting information!

Do all standard rooms at the YC have daybeds?

I need to go down to Disney for work at the F&W festival and they are putting me up at the YC. Thrilled as I have always wanted to stay there.

Since DH can't go I wanted to invite 2 friends - but figured we'd each sleep in 1 of the beds - if there is a daybed. On allears it says some rooms have a daybed and others have Murphy beds. Does that mean all rooms can accomodate 5 people?

Please advise.

Thanks so much!

No, both the YC and BC standard rooms come with all different bedding types. Standard means standard view as opposed to water view. You can have a king, a king and daybed, two queens, two doubles, two queens and a daybed, one queen and a sleeper chair ... there are all types of different bedding groupings. If you need two queens and a daybed, make sure you have that noted on the reservation. Keep in mind the daybeds are ok for kids sleeping on them but a tall adult will not be comfortable. If it is not noted on your reservation, when you check-in, just tell the cast member there are three adults in the room and you need three separate beds. Shouldn't be a problem unless you are checking in real late and all those rooms are already booked.

We stayed in room 447 in BCV in July. It's a 1-bedroom with a woods view, a balcony off the living room, AND a balcony off the master bedroom. We loved it :) ; the only disadvantage was a long walk from the elevators. Internet connection was $9.95/day. My DD13 and I are trying to talk my DH into going back again next summer!

We are a family of 5; myself, DH, DD17, DD13, DD9. I have a garden view concierge room booked for Feb 1 - 11. I realize that these rooms are standard size rooms, but have the convience of being on the fifth floor or should I book the Deluxe concierge room because it is so much bigger, even though they aren't on the "Concierge level- 5th floor". Is it a total pain to travel to the concierge floor? I'm wondering if the space is worth not being on the fifth floor?

Thanks, Tuckerboy

You shouldn't have a problem with concierge room as long as two older children don't mind sharing a bed. 9 yr old would have a day bed (make sure you have one in your room).

It takes a bit of bathroom juggling but the room is a good size.

We are so torn between the Polynesian and the Beach Club. I've gotten wonderful advice from this site and am so appreciative.

How covenient is it to walk to Epcot and catch the monorail to MK? We really, really like what the Beach Club has to offer, but can't get over the fact that the Polynesian has the monorail right there.

What do you think? Is there a lot to do at the Beach Club for a 2-year-old? Is it easy to get to MK and the other parks?

Thanks!

It's a hike to get to the monorail through Epcot. From the Beach Club you walk into Epcot between France and England in the World Showcase. You then have to walk all the way to the front of Epcot and leave through the main entrance to catch the monorail. To me it's much quicker and easier to take the bus. I've stayed at both the Yacht Club and Contemporary when my kids were younger. The monorail resorts are great and can't be beat when you spend most of your time in the Magic Kingdom.
