My family stayed at the BC this January, and I would imagine that the day beds would be the same at both hotels. I believe we were told that they were for someone 5' tall or under. My nieces who are 5'2" or so slept there fine, but my other niece who is 5'11" definitely could not have. I guess it would all depend on height.

On one of the other boards someone asked about the turndown service. One person answered you have to pay for the service someone else says you do not. Can anyone clarify please.

When we went in 11/04, it was done for us no charge. Maybe some one that has gone there reciently will know if this hasn't changed

couple questions

I am under the impression that not all of the rooms at the BC have balconys, is there any way to tell which rooms do, and any way to request these rooms, we are thinking of staying in a standard view room, is this correct? Also my impression is that YC all rooms have balconys, is this correct?

Now I am wondering about room capacity, can we get a standard view room with capacity for 5 in either YC or BC ?

You are correct. Some rooms at the BC have no balcony, some have standing room only and others are full. No way to know for sure which has which. If you want a full balcony, you'll need to request it on your reservation. Not all YC rooms have a full balcony either, but it's a higher percentage than the BC.

Yes you can. If you book a standard though, my first request would be for a garden view. The majority of the standard view rooms overlook the parking lot.

So the room for 5 would need to be a request in addition to a request for view and balcony?

Thanks

You only need to make a request for maximum bedding if there are not already 5 guests listed on your reservation. They should automatically assign you to a daybed room if you have a 5th person.

I just changed my standard view to a water view- do all the water views have balconies- is there one area or floor I should request- what are the chances of being upgraded from a standard view to water view(if I hadn't already changed)- any other thoughts???

Views: (IMHO)

Actually I prefer the std at both resorts, just because you are less likely to a roof view. The lower h20 views at the yc really feature a roof, and then the distance the water and bw views, for the price I have just as good a view for std.

Odds of getting an upgrade? Who knows? You usually have a better chance if your length of stay is short, and hopefully they have sold out of your category. I have also read where on side is sold out and not the other and due to overcrowding they sometimes request to move you to the other resort.

As for the better views? Yes, you might have the parking lot in the distance, for either resort, but the circle drive / luggage drop off and traffic might be more of a problem? At the BC there are also some rooms very close and overlook the BCV's. At the YC they have (this year?) changed the quiet pool view to now std. That is a nice view.

Balconies, yes you definately have a better chance at a full balcony at the YC. But some rooms at the BC have larger oversized ones too. On the begining of this thread there is a spot with floor plans, (thanks joe cool) some might of changed (view) not sure if been upgraded but they do tell about balconies.

We definitely had no problem seeing the parking lot from our standard view room at the YC. We saw the roof of the drop off, so didn't really notice much traffic noise from it. If we looked to the right, it was part of the convention center roof and looking down, we could watch the employees taking their breaks outside. I would just ask for any room not located on the front side of the resort.

we are planning to stay at the YC in October and will be there over our anniversary. we honeymooned back in 97 at the BWI and as a treat we bought a couple of the robes from the gift shop. Am thinking of surprising my dh with new robes, this time from the YC...do they carry them? Any idea what they look like?

I did see them in the gift shop. But I was in a rush so I didn't get a good look at them. They looked nice they were white.

I couldn't find a pic of the YC robes, but here's a link to the BC ones. They are VERY similar.

I doubt it is quite that much, but I remember them being in the $125-135 range.
