As far as a standard room at the Yacht club in Concierge I believe it is a Garden view. :)

That's not always the case. You can overlook a rooftop or the front drive and parking lot, we've had these views.

No-not all have daybeds but I had one every time it was requested on our reservation (we had the same situation you do-boy/girl thing-now they don't even stay at the same resort we do LOL).

We had no problem getting morning coffee at the YC - I think they open at 6:00am? - This is of course after we had already finished the coffee that was provided in our rooms-we are very early risers.

hi there fellow disers,

we currently have a garden view concierge room booked at the yacht club concierge for our wedding week at disney. we have requested a view of the gazebo (which we'll be married in march 21st) but does anyone if we should request a room #, has anyone stayed in a yacht club concierge room with a view of the gazebo?

thanks!
53 days to go :bride:

Nope. We were in concierge and our standard view definitely overlooked the parking lot and the convention center roof. Unfortunately, the entire front side of the hotel has this view.

Has anyone stayed on the first floor of the Beach Club? We have a standard room booked, and I am thinking the first floor might be nice because of a patio, instead of a walk out balcony.

And, from what I have read, most BC standard views aren't great anyway...hope someone can tell me about their first floor room!! Oh, and, are there any first floor rooms close to SAB?

Thanks!

I haven't stayed at the BC, but I thought you might find this site helpful, http://www.disneyzone.net/bcresort.htm . You can click on the room layouts for each floor and maybe get a better idea of what you'd like to request. Just enlarge the thumbnail when you open it up and you can see all the details of the room numbers. Disregard the view colors that they assigned though. This map is fairly old and I know they've reclassified many of the views. Hope that helps.

Not really. Most of the first floor rooms are well away from the pool, making it about the same difficulty of getting to SAB as a 2nd or 3rd floor room. Most of the first floor next to SAB is used up by Beaches 'n Cream, Cape May, some shops, etc.

I don't have many problems with BC, but the difficulty of just getting around the resort and/or getting to SAB is probably my biggest one.

We are staying at BC 5/18-22 in 2BR suite.(First I booked YC. But my husband got surprised with the price tag, and said "no". :dumbo: Next time I booked BC, and told my husbnad before-tax, w/o tickets $. :teeth: ) I think the lady on the phone said "concierge" but I'm not 100% sure.
I've been researching about WDW on this board for past 2 weeks and I'm now addicted.
I just wanted to say hi, and thank you all for the useful information!

We stayed in a first floor room a couple of years ago. Sliders led to a little patio with a small table and two chairs. The walkway infront of the sliders led to the bay area and the BCVs the other way-it was a long walk to the lobby, store, SAB but a short walk to the small pool and laundry. The patio faced Epcot area-it tended to get a bit noisy first thing in the morning when the service vehicles (golf kart type) went back and forth and also in the evening when people were coming back to the resort on their way to the BCVs. Personally I'd try for a full balcony closer to the lobby area. The second floor is a walk up a small staircase (don't have to use the elevator) and convenient for snacks and drink refills. You also don't have to walk a mile in your bathing suit to get to SAB.
It depends on what you are willing to sacrifice for ground floor accomodations.

Here is the link to the on-line version of the WDW Vacation Planning Video: click here. Once you’re on that webpage, click on the RESORTS button. The webpage will rearrange itself and some new buttons regarding the Resorts will appear. Put your mouse over the Disney Deluxe Resorts Overview entry and select “Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort.” A video window will open and the Yacht & Beach Club Resort video will begin to play.

It’s a nice way to experience a little bit of Disney magic without leaving the comfort of your home. ;)

Janet2K, thanks. I got that DVD planning kit already but didn't know it contained that video. I've heard about the sand-bottomed pool but didn't know exactly how it looks. Now, after seeing this video, I'm sure my kids will love it!

Made a reservation on 2/6/06. I recieved an email from BC concierge team today, with a form for me to fill out for itinerary planning :cheer2: . I think they are very prompt!

Anyone know how early and late you can get soda at the Beach Club. I stayed at the YC last year, but it is booked already for May. I remeber the store off the lobby at the BC (BC marketplace) had big machines to fill it yourself.

What hours is the store open? Also is there a place also in the lobby that gives out coffee and hot chocolate like at the YC in the AM?

Thanks

The BC marketplace is open from 8-11. I don't think they have the "lobby treats" in the morning, ever since they remodeled the Marketplace. However, you can get hot chocolate form a big machine inside the marketplace...and also, yummy pastires.

Beca, did you notice if the marketplace sells yogurt? Not dessert stuff but the regular old strawberry type in cups? I sort of count on fresh fruit and yogurt to balance out my kids unhealthy eating on vacation. ;)

I actually looked back over my pics to see if I had a picture of it (I was taking pics for a friend), and I did not get a picture of that end of the refrigerated case. However, I would be SHOCKED if they did not have yogurt...they have milk, cheese, eggs, butter and other "dairy" products. Because BC is also a DVC resort, they tend to stock foods for people that really want to do some cooking. I have always found a GREAT selection there. They also have a refrigerated section called "well balanced selections" that has assorted fruit cups and what appears to be "yogurt parfaits" with granola, fresh fruit and yogurt.

Hello all! My future Mrs. and I will be honeymooning this October and we can't wait! We're staying at the Beach Club and I was wondering if the hotel does anything special for honeymoon couples? Is there something special I can have done so that when we arrive it'll be a surprise to her? I'd like to have the bride and groom ears in the room when we arrive, do you the hotel could/would accommodate this?

Thanks much!
Steve

Today I changed our May ressies to the Beach Club! It's the third change I've made (POFQ->WL->BC) but I'm sticking with this one. We stayed here in May of 03 when I was expecting. Now we're taking our 2-year old back for his second trip to WDW. We love being so close to our favorite park.

We made our third change to for our May trip. CSR to the Poly to the BC and we are sticking with the BC.

Cannot wait!!
