From the Disney site"Drivers of canopy or pontoon boats must be 18 years of age. Drivers must provide ID with birth date in order to drive certain watercraft.

Guests must be at least 12 years old and at least 5 feet tall to drive a Sea Raycer. At Magic Kingdom® area resorts, at least one person in the boat must have a valid driver's license. There is a maximum combined weight of 320 lbs permitted for a Sea Raycer, or 2 passengers. All drivers under the age of 18 MUST have a parent or legal guardian sign a release."

Ale & Compass-In December they were still serving a "continental" breakfast-open around 6 or 6:30am. It was pretty pricey though. Had coffee, tea, juices, milk and pastries, bagels, toast and cereal. I believe it cost us over $20 for two coffees, two oj, an order of toast, a bagel with cream cheese, box of cereal and milk and a couple of danishes.
After that, we took a little extra time and bought breakfast items at the grocery store (okay if you have a car) and just kept them in our room for the rest of our stay.

Hi everyone,

I am interested in the water view rooms on the concierge level at the Yacht Club. I know they are all on the fifth floor and it looks like most of them have a direct view of the lake and board walk except for three of them. Can someone please tell me if this is true and if it is what the view of the other three is? Is it a sideways view of the lake and boardwalk? We would like to try to get a direct view of the boardwalk so I'm wondering if I need to request this and how many of the concierge water view rooms actually have this view.

Thank you for your help.

Myra

We're going to be staying at the Yacht Club for the first time this year and I have a question. On the list of restaurants for the Disney dining plan, it lists the Ale & Compass for breakfast. I checked allearsnet to look at the menu, and it's not listed there. Do they still have breakfast at the Ale & Compass?

Thanks!

As far as I know, the Ale & Compass is "just" a bar. They serve finger foods at night, but I don't think they've ever served breakfast. Beaches and Cream used to serve a great take out breakfast, but they got rid of that before the Villas were built. If you're looking for a quick take-out breakfast, you can walk over to the Beach Club Marketplace. For a casual sit down style, try the Yacht Club Galley

Everytime I have stayed concierge at YC my view has been directly over the back entrance of YC looking across the lake at Boardwalk. I love this view. It takes in the lighthouse and marina also. I'm not sure about the other lagoon views. Perhaps DisneyGator can help you. She is a CM at the front desk of YC. You might want to PM her. :goodvibes

can someone describe the boats for rent- what ages can drive them- I have an 11 and 13 year old? how big is the lake? Thanks

They measure you to drive the sea racers, my daughter during our last trip was 4'11" and they said she couldn't drive, she was so bummed, she's now 4'11 and 3/4", got my fingers crossed. ;)

The walk over to the Boardwalk is pretty quick either way you go. It's only a leisurely 10 minutes stroll either way (we've made it quicker when we were in a hurry).

HTH!

I know there's a least one. I booked a standard room there years ago and I guess I was upgraded. I think it was a deluxe room. It had a king size bed, a couch and was extra long with an extensive balcony. It was on third floor and overlooked the quiet pool area.

Do they have roll away beds available at the BC?
Are the standard rooms big enough to accommodate one?
Or will we be terribly crowded?
Also are the daybeds big enough for an average size
12 year old boy?

Thanks
T.

Just booked our trip for December at the Beach Club today! DH, DS, DM and moi for 12/4-12/9. We were previously booked for a May trip but had to postpone for health reasons. Looking forward to seeing some pretty Christmas decorations!

looked but didn't really see an answer to this , If I am at BC and have an early morning ADR at Chef Mickey's what is the best way to get there? Direct bus to MK? I assume the entryway to Epcot isn't open that early bc WS isn't if it is a walk to epcot and hop on the Monorail and switch would probably be best but not sure if WS entrance is open then any suggestions?

Assuming you're using WDW transportation (not renting a car):
If it is an early entry day at Epcot, you could enter through WS, walk to the front, and catch the monorail. They have it roped off so you have to go to Future World. We did that in 2001-stopped for TT FP's on the way through, since it was closed for repairs. If not early entry, the bus would be the option.
Hope Chef Mickey's is good. We're trying it this fall.

Definitely take the bus to the MK. It will drop you off within walking distance of the CR. If you go the monorail route, you'll have to walk from one end of Epcot to the other, take the monorail to the TTC and then transfer to the MK monorail. It will take much longer and much more mileage on your feet.

Very excited...booked 2 rooms at BC for 7 nights!!!! Didn't think we'd make it back this year with soooo many health problems in our family. We are taking DH 16 yo and my 75 yo mother. The BC looks amazing!!! Too excited for words!!!

If I were you, I would just take a taxi. The money spent will be well worth it, it will be a quick trip and no aggrevation of waiting for buses.

Have fun!

Just wanted to say that DW and myself will be stay at the BC for the first time in Sept of this year.
This thread has some good information. Glad that I found it.
Everybody keep the information comming. :sunny:
