I am a resort cast member. Not all of the rooms have a day bed in them. The bedding in the room you are assigned too normally follows your party size. We generally won't put a party of 2 in a room with 2 queens and a day bed for example. Another thing that we look at is the party size of everyone arriving on that day. You sometimes may have an easier time at the Yacht Club due to there being more convention guests there. Sometimes they bring their families, and some times they don't. But in general there are less families at the Yacht Club. I would contact the resort about 3-5 days before your arrival, and be sure that the request is on your reservation. We can't guarentee that you will get your bedding request, but we can try. Worst case scenerio is that we can usually room change you to meet your requests at sometime during your stay. :earsgirl:

Quick question...I have stayed at the Y&BC twice, but never with kids...are all rooms at the YC with a daybed...I have requested one in my CRO reservation, but wasn't sure if they are hard to get or not.
Thanks

Thanks for the info! What is the best way to contact YC regarding a daybed request? Would a FAX be acceptable? A phone call directly to the resort? If the reservation was made thru a TA, can we still contact the resort ourselves? :goodvibes

Does anyone know if there are any conventions scheduled for the first two weeks in December this year at the Beach Club? This is probably a long shot asking this question, but I figured I'd try anyway.....

We fell in love with YC! DH, DD11 and I are now hooked! We booked a standard view and that's just what we got, but no complaints here! We loved the room (3130) - very quiet. Everything looked very clean; the beds were very comfy! The convenience to Epcot, the Boardwalk & MGM was *icing on the cake*!!

Did you have a balcony? What was outside your window? Third floor sounds great to me!

Yes, balcony with 2 chairs and small table. Nothing to see outside except nature! Very quiet. The parking lot was beyond the trees but well hidden by all the foliage - and we never heard a sound from it! Yes, it would have been nice to have a *water* view, but considering how little time we actually spent in the room - this was good enough!

We were just down the hall from the elevator to the lobby - very convenient!

Sounds like a good pick for us too! (unless of course we get an upgrade) :rolleyes1

I have stayed at the Y & BC many times, but we have never used the pool on our last day, therefore, I have not ever needed to know this. I know there must be a facility where we can shower and change before our flight home. My question is: where? Thanks! :flower:

Yes there is, Corinne! It's part of the main building, right by the pool. Have fun!!

(Edited 7/4: I need to correct the "mis-information" I stated above. Evidently, there is NOT a showering/changing facility @ YC/BC. Sorry about that!)

:confused3 Here's another question about the day beds at the BC. We are going to be there in just five days. When I booked, the CM said that they could accommodate us in a room with two queens and a day bed. Does that mean we will get one? There are five in our party. Thanks! :earsgirl:

kmjmom, you should be placed in a room that has the appropriate bedding for your party. In the case of 5 guests at the BC, that would be 2 queen beds and a daybed. It's not 100% guaranteed, but worst case scenario is that you'd be in a room that has 2 queen beds and a rollaway. This happened to us on our first night at the YC.

Thanks Tammi! We are so excited for our first BC visit! Only four more days! With all the preparations, it should go by quickly! Hope you get to start planning a new trip very soon! :earsgirl:

Can anyone tell me the order that the buses pick up? Is it YC, BC, BW then Swan/Dolphin? How much time does this add to traveling to the parks? I've heard some terrible things about the bus service, but I really want to stay at YC or BC.

I had heard on another thread that they only stopped at YC and BC for their stay this summer. Was that only for the summer?

When we stayed in Nov., it stopped at YC, BC, Swan, and Dolphin. But November is usually slower time of year and the buses were also. The plus side is, when you go to MK, the bus pulls right up to the entrance. You don't have to take the monorail or the ferry across the Seven Seas Lagoon. Another plus is the monorail stops at Epcot, which is right next to BC/YC and the ferry will take you from BC/YC to MGM. When staying at the BC or YC, just make sure you end your day at Epcot. That way it is just a walk back to the resort.
I really think that the BC or YC is centrally the best from a transportation view.

Good point. After all, we are only talking about taking the bus to 2 of the parks, so that's not that bad.
O.k, 2nd question, if we stay at BC standard view, what should we request? What is the best standard view?
Thanks. :flower:

We stayed at YC 2 months ago and we didn't share busses with BW, Swan or Dolphin. The bus stopped first at YC, then BC. That was it. We had a car, so we only rode to the Mk, but the bus service there was great.

When we stayed, We reserved a standard room. When we got there the upgraded us to a water view Jr. Suite. Of course, November is the slow time of year. Just cross your fingers and hope they will upgrade you. Make sure you tell them that you are celebrating your Anniversary. You'll get perks. Make sure you tell them on the cruise next year, also.

Here are some pics of our Jr. Suite.

Wow! You lucked out on a nice room! Hope we get lucky too, but if not, we'll still be happy at such a nice hotel! :flower:
