tinkerbell60! Welcome back, glad you had a great time at YC...and congrats on the upgrade!!! We have a garden view so as long as I dont see a parking lot or roof I wil be happy!
So, I have to ask.....how do rate the YC to the GF?? Just wondering...my impression is that they are somewhat similiar as far as ambience....but YC seems to be in a better location. Not that I dont love the MK area But there is so much to do near YC...its our first time, cant wait!
Too bad YC doesnt have something like Gasparillas.

To be honest, I liked the YC a LOT better than GF. I don't think there is enough difference in amenities or size to justify the higher cost of the GF. I also like the fact that the YC is one building....at the GF we were in Boca Chica - and it was a long walk to Gasparillas, or the boat dock or the monorail. The YC also did have access to the Boardwalk and all the restaurants and food stands there.....

you can get a light breakfast in the YC lobby (pastry, bagels, cereal) and we also did TS breakfast at YC Galley with no ADR......You can refill your mugs at Hurricane Hannas by the pool too.

I do love the MK area though - it is a tough call - it was great being near Epcot and MGM but we missed MK.......I think I would rotate every other trip between the Epcot area and MK area......

Have a great trip! The YC is now one of my favorites!!!

tinkerbell60...We were at Boca Chica as well....so split stays or every other trip...great idea! However with DS14 and DD10 getting older, they will probably enjoy Epcot area more...even though we all love MK so much!

chris4disney - Below is a picture of the screen for the movies on the beach (it is the white rectangular thing by the slide entrance...). Of course the lounge chairs are turned to face the screen at movie time, also I believe there were additional lounge chairs at movie time.

Thanks for the photo! I only hope they are still showing movies in October!!

Okay - you will have to give me your opinion after you stay at YC too!! DH and DS10 want to stick with the MK resorts, namely the Contemporary and DD13 and I want to rotate - I think we may do the Contemporary next summer - but after that - who knows!! DH did mention he might like to try the Boardwalk too.

The kiddie pool area of Stormalong Bay, yes, that whole side is about 2' feet deep with the sand bar in the middle dividing the area...notice the hot tub close by...and the stairs in the foreground lead into the lazy river

I will attempt to describe how wonderful the Beach Club is in my report...we had a magical stay. My family wants to go back to BC whenever our next trip will be! We LOVED it! I have quite a few pics to share...I got a new memory card before our trip.

DH and I are heading to the BC on 9/5. We were thinking of renting a car since we hate waiting for the bus, but we'd rather walk. How far is the walk to MGM and Epcot? Is there internet access at BC?
