I think it is time for a NEW Beach Club FAQ thread. This one is not touched very often.

Is this resort undesirable? Maybe I should switch.

Heavens no!!!!

I have visited these properties back in 03 when we picked up our son the day after our wedding night...lucky kids..DS at BC and DD at AKL...and we got to resort hop!
Not sure as to why this thread isnt always jumping....seems to get busy in spurts.
There are alot of YC/BC lovers out there.
Granted....this probably needs to be updated...There are currently a few other threads abt YC/BC that are great, lots of disers have recently returned.

I second the suggestion for a new FAQ. This one is older and hasn't been updated in so long, and it is hard to wade through the 139 page thread to find current information. A new FAQ would be much more user-friendly!

I wish that the safes were the size of the ones on the cruiseline. It is almost like they are afraid you might get a little room to lock up your valuables.

No. It is not big enough. DH and I both had our laptops this trip. I ended up putting mine at the bottom of the bedside drawer. A lot of deterant that was I am sure. DH got a bit more creative. The desk has a second table under it with a drawer on it. He pulled the table out put the laptop in the drawer and flipped the table around so that it was in backward not really noticable and it fits both ways. Either way perfectly possible for someone to get at it but it made us feel better I think.

That's a good question! At check-in people were told 10 p.m. yet it never seemed to actually be open that late. I had heard there are concerns with enough lighting after dark.

Just back from the YC! We loved the resort....I had booked a standard view but was upgraded to a water view - overlooking the wedding gazebo - we could see the lake and the bridge that crosses over from the BWI to the BC side. At night we could see Illuminations (the higher fireworks). The down side was the lack of a counterservice (like Roaring Forks at WL) and the fact that our room was always so cold and we could not seem to adjust it without turning off the a/c completely. DD and I came home with colds..... oh well.

The bus service was a little slow to MK but we loved being close to Epcot and MGM. The kids loved SAB. There were movies at the beach every night although we did not go watch any.

Does anyone have a picture of where exactly the movies are shown? We'll be staying at the Beach Club Villas this October (first time ever staying at Y & B Club) so I'm not real familar with the layout of these resorts. We've eaten there for the character breakfast once and did a Illuminations cruise back in 2004, but that's about it for our Y & B Club experience.

It is a very large screen - near the pool slide but on the beach portion. There were chairs. I do not have any pictures. It did not seem overly crowded when we walked by. The resort will give you a listing of the movies for each night in your welcome packet. Have fun!!!

Just wanted to mention that the movies may not be shown when you visit in October. I have no official word by any means but do know that this was just started this summer and may just be a summer activity.

More than likely the movies will not be showing in October. They haven't been when we were there that time of year.

tinkerbell60! Welcome back, glad you had a great time at YC...and congrats on the upgrade!!! We have a garden view so as long as I dont see a parking lot or roof I wil be happy!
So, I have to ask.....how do rate the YC to the GF?? Just wondering...my impression is that they are somewhat similiar as far as ambience....but YC seems to be in a better location. Not that I dont love the MK area But there is so much to do near YC...its our first time, cant wait!
Too bad YC doesnt have something like Gasparillas.
