This is Real! AP Rates are out past April 17.

Even so I wonder how many here will continue to call hoping to catch a CM off guard and get their AP code. No doubt this kind of thing(codes getting leaked and people calling 30-40 times trying to get it early) will cause Disney to change their policy to make it accesible to people who arent on message boards half the time and offer codes by invite only(post cards-emails). Im sure I wont be to popular after this but after a few hundred times telling people the codes arent out yet, probably recognizing the same voice more than once it would be hard for me not to get a little sarcastic. And yes I was a CM for a couple years so I know the rules.

A very accurate observation. According to friends who work at CRO they are constantly brainstorming ways to prevent this very thing from happening. As you stated some ideas are to use more email and postcard discounts which require a PIN. Require a valid AP number at the time of booking. Reduce the number of codes and go to package deals. We have seen this already.

As the saying goes, we have seen the enemy and he is us. ;)

Just another little tidbit of information-- :listen:

It does not look like general codes will come out this time (but I really, really, really hope I'm wrong.) It seems that it will be PIN offers only and AP and FL res rates.

:duck: please don't shoot the messenger. It's just the information I have received, which very well may be incorrect. (I reallly hope it is incorrect.)

I expected them to release an AP rate about now, because a nice CM at CBR told me to keep an eye out for something AP wise midweek this week.

SueEllen,

That wouldn't surprise me with how well the MYW stuff is going. When I checked out on Monday, a very nice CM was saying how well the MYW packages were going and how they might need to add a few more bodies at the resorts to help with check in delays and such.

1. I was quoted $165 for a pool-view room at AKL. I didn't ask about the savannah view.

2. I did not need an AP to book but the cm did give me a hard time (see my post earlier in this thread).

Good luck tomorrow!

Thank you, tigefan! So, it does look like deluxe resorts are $100 off rack rate across the board, all views. I would guess then that the savannah rate is $220 - ouch. Think I'll be trying for that standard or pool view, and hope to be charming enough at check-in to get an upgrade! :ssst:

I'm also glad to hear that about the AP's. I'll read them my darn confirmation e-mail if I have to - they have my $$ already!

Hi SueEllen - thanks for the post. I was SO glad to see you on this thread, knowing Dreams is on top of it...I am hoping Susan Haass can get me AP rates tomorrow - nice I don't have to get up at 4 am!! (west coast)

Hi Anne,
We are ready and waiting :) Off to bed now

Now I'll never get any sleep! :sad2: I'll be a mental wreck until I get through and get those rates! It's not quite the savings I was hoping for but hey...any savings is a great savings especially when we started to fear no savings at all! ::yes:: WDW here we come!!!! :dancer:
G'nite and pixie dust to all :wizard:
 :bitelip: :cheer2: :bitelip: :upsidedow :bitelip: :worried: :bitelip: :drinking: :bitelip:  :bitelip: :jumping1: :bitelip: :rotfl2: :listen:

Oh my goodness, I feel so BAD at my good fortune! I have been waiting with the rest of you all and after seeing the OPs 1st post, I jumped offline and raced to the phone line without reading the rest of the posts. I guess I was lucky as I was able to book WL 6/20-30 for $139 pretax. I DO have an activated AP, but didn't volunteer that info to the CM.....would they have known that already? CM didn't say ANYTHING about it not being able to be booked, but I did ask for it specifically (EWY) and it seemed to go through fine....this was at about 7:30pm PST. Now my question is......for those of us who DID secure the rate without problem, should we be worried about our ressies with so many others being denied? I DO NOT want to tie up the phone lines asking about it with all ya'll who need to get through.....do you think that if we got it, we got it?

Good luck tomorrow, everyone......sorry you all didn't get your rate tonight!

Cindie-rella,

The funny thing is I just got back from my WDW trip yesterday and now this whole AP rate stuff came out and now has me ready to go back. Good luck to everyone tommorrow as well.

thesoldtrain,

I'm sure it's fine and nothing to loose sleep over. I would call just to make sure, but wouldn't worry about calling first thing.

I wouldn't worry about it. Disney just isn't that stupid or have such incompetent programers. If they didn't want something to happen, their programers would have made sure it wouldn't have happened. Instead of a memo telling CM's not to give them out, they would have fixed the computers so it woudn't have happened. I'm just glad we don't have to read a zillion more posts, telling us the why's and wherefore's of why there will be no AP's this time around, and we should just book what we can afford. Heck, even with the AP's Disney is overpriced! LOL.

I think the entire company as a whole has troubles with their computer systems and codes and it causes lots and lots of problems. I remember many times trying even to use a coupon code at the stores and it wouldn't work. I'm not sure what the issues are with why they have such troubles. They give out bad information and if the turn over rate it high and they hire out for help, it's no wonder there are problems. I don't know if they still do it, but I found is amusing that WDW Dining calls were at one time answered by part of the catalog division in Kansas when call volume was high. Of course, they aren't going to know the ins and outs of dining, the bus system, etc at WDW.

no AP discounts for us yet - we're going in Aug
Paying rack rate at Pop $99 for 5nights and then rack rate for standard at Wilderness Lodge at $199 for 3nights before using last yrs points at BCV for 6nights
the alternative? stay home - not!
so when will we see August discounts? in July?

Check Mousesavers!! The AP rates have been announced!!

The magic hour is here. Anyone have any luck yet???? I just emailed our travel agent to see if the AP rate is better then our postcard rate--it doesn't look like it will be based on the prices people have posted here-they are higher then the email pin rate I got.

Also, just a quick check, if the AP rate is better and we will save money buying one AP so we can use the rate on our room and more importantly the DDE card for meals, we can have one person in the room with and AP and the rest of us with MYW tickets on a room only reservation, correct?

I don't think the AP rates will beat the pin codes from what I am seeing.

Your other question: yes :) You have to have the AP voucher in hand to order the DDE card over the phone.
