I don't believe that. I gave her the code, she put it in, and said, Yup, there you are, my first of the night. Why on earth would they risk their jobs? Computers programed correctly are smart. If it's programed to not give it to us, then it wouldn't. Sounds like it's rolling it's way in.

Because as SueEllen said they are given a memo that the codes are being downloaded into the system. Not all computers will have access to booking the code at the same time, until the release date which is obviously tomorrow morning. However when a CM is given the new code before then and goes ahead, against what the memo instructs them to do, then yes they can get in alot of trouble.

What happens is most CM's do not realize that a guest would even have access to code not yet released so they do not think anything about it when they start the process. It's only after it's booked and they realize it that the trouble begins.

While it's great for those that got in early, it's not fair to those that called at the same time and got a CM doing his/her job correctly. Therefore Disney will get complaints over the situation.

Ahh the wonder of the Internet. :)

I just asked someone to Pm me what it means. I figure if it's bad enough theat the OP didn't spell it out then it must be abd. LOL

no one cleaned it up for me, believe it or not, I exercised restraint in my typing skills :teeth: If I do not get any discounts, then I should be happy to have touched so many lives, in so many ways :rolleyes1

At least we know they are coming.
Sue Ellen

The last CM told me that. He said, "I will lost my job if I book that rate for you and override the system."

When I called I was told tom--decided to book the one night I needed so I would have to do tom is apply the code--and she was doing that and said wait a minute--she then came back with an AP rate and explained the emails and glitches in the computer. But she said I still had the rate--and I qualified for it. My AP info was in the system. She knew my activation month and everything.

If the CM chose to do this is is not our fault. not in my situation anyway--I was just securing that studio do to the factors that VWL is the smallest of the DVC properties and I know that I had to have a ressie out there besides the cash ressie that I had through MS.

THANKS JASON! I was trying to find where that info was. Somone mentioned that on page 6 or something.

Are you going to be applying a code to your trip in May? Can't believe you get to go again so soon. How blessed you are my friend! :teeth:

Even so I wonder how many here will continue to call hoping to catch a CM off guard and get their AP code. No doubt this kind of thing(codes getting leaked and people calling 30-40 times trying to get it early) will cause Disney to change their policy to make it accesible to people who arent on message boards half the time and offer codes by invite only(post cards-emails). Im sure I wont be to popular after this but after a few hundred times telling people the codes arent out yet, probably recognizing the same voice more than once it would be hard for me not to get a little sarcastic. And yes I was a CM for a couple years so I know the rules.

ARGH!!! Was watching my taped episode of WDW: Behind the Magic from the TC, and missed this initial frenzy!!

Two questions for anyone out there:

1. Did anyone get a quote on a pool view or savannah view room at AKL? I saw where one person had posted that standard rooms were already gone - what dates were you searching for? I need 4/17-4/23.

2. Those that did slip in and were able to book tonight - do have current activated AP's? I'm wondering if the rumor about having to have an active AP is true - I've purchased mine, but haven't activated yet.

Thanks - pixie dust to all bright and early in the a.m.!! These poor CM's aren't going to know what hit them...

Can you book an AP rate and get the AP right before your trip or do you need one to book it.

Thanks

Since I didn't beg for it..but just gave her the code, then she is one foolish person to have put it in, if she got a memo, and knew she could lose her job. Why on earth would any of them do it..and where do they get these bad programmers? And they really should fire the programers..how easy it would be to have it not work until the date and time it should. I don't buy it, I think just like the last two times I've booked the night before..it's rolling in (just like at Walmart late the night before a "sale" when it comes up on sale..and the luck of the draw.

I have a current one, however, she did say to me, that I need to have a current AP at check in. I assume she can see the one I have it due to end before my trip.

Tiggerlover91,

Yep May 26-May 30. Only 3 days/4 nights this time, but since I was just there and did everything I wanted, this is more seeing the new attractions for the 50th then anything else. I already have a AAA rate of 93.75 a night at POP, but the AP rate would be about $82.51, so not much of a savings, but it is something.

you mean do you need an AP, no you can show it when you check in.
that is how we do it.

1. I was quoted $165 for a pool-view room at AKL. I didn't ask about the savannah view.

2. I did not need an AP to book but the cm did give me a hard time (see my post earlier in this thread).

Good luck tomorrow!

No you don't have to have an AP in hand to make the reservation, but need it to check in. For my trip that I just took, I picked up an AP at Magic of Disney at the airport when I arrived. They actually never asked for it when I checked in.

Rick, you are definitely right. As you said you rolled in right before closing for the evening, as some computers were being downloaded with the codes and others were not. As to why they would risk it, I am afraid some are just not that competent to catch the mistake until it's a fact. Disney even subcontracts some of this work out to other contractors in other locations. It's a high turn over, low paying job.

I agree with the programming thing. If they did not want it to work then they should have done the downloads at midnight. A lot of companies do this.(for their weekly ads)It is a programming glitch.

Just to let you know--and I am putting on my flame retardant suit as I speak--I only called twice today

Once this morning--to go by the history of last year and with the luck of the draw

and the second time after I got back from the store and saw the messae boards. I did not come to the boards to post what I was told this morning and I was not the one who let the cat out of the bag.

From what I have seen on another board that CM's talk on. . .I think that they are the one that need to worry. And if I knew that my job would be on the line--I would not have risk anything.

I hope that everyone has good luck in the AM. . . .good night and here is lots of pixie dust for you. . . .
