Thinking about going...

The Disney website should have the specifications. We only tent camped at the Fort.

Strange that the info isn't readily accessible. Call Disney and tell them you want to ask a question about a resort. They will transfer you to a resort information cast member (this is very different from a reservations agent, so don't tell them you're trying to make a reservation on this call- reservation agents are often clueless.)

Once you get to speak with the resort info person, ask him or her the RV questions you have, being careful to write down your answers. Hope it all goes well!

Hi Dootinriggins,

If you follow this link to the WDW website it goes straight to the Fort Wilderness overview. It lists that you can have anything from a tent all the way up to 45 feet. Check it out and use the tabs to see other information. If you have more questions, feel free to ask us. You can keep using this same thread if you like. We are more than happy to help.

That's a 45 ft Motorhome. The Fort can also accommodate some pretty big trailer combinations. My trailer is 42 1/2 ft long plus a 22 ft long truck. And Yep, I fit!
Most Premium sites will fit the biggest rigs. If you reserve a Full, Partial or Preferred site, have the length of you rig or the size of you tent added to the reservation. They will assign a site where you should fit.

Typically you would have them note your RV size (and amount of slides) on your reservation. That way they can assign a site appropriately. I would think unless you have something Custom that requires a Class A license (Think Tractor Trailer) to bring, you should probably be okay.

This one may not work well at the Fort. :)

I would love to see the inside of that!

I would congratulate you if you won a Prevost, but actually I would not be envious of you! :goodvibes We've gone in some over the years 'just to see' and 'sorry' if you like them, but to us they are just super gaudy - lights and mirrors everywhere!
On the ceiling, walls, etc. Definitely not us! Guess there has to be things like that added, as you can put just so much 'stuff' in something the size of a bus! :)

Not if you camp with the type of people I do. It's, in a think southern accent, "Pre" (like pre-mature) "Vost" (rhymes with most). If I can't afford one, I shouldn't have to pronounce it right. :-)

NOTE I mentioned CUSTOM which for DW and myself is PLANE JANE, none of that gaudy stuff. :teeth:

Just acknowledging the founder's proper name pronunciation. He was an ordinary man, a cabinet maker of church pews and school furniture. :worship:

Ya, I know. I have seen a couple of stories about him and the company on the cable RV shows. Seems like a nice guy and a great company. A motorcoach will have to wait until the next promotion or retirement when we sell everything and head south.

Don't care how it's pronounced... :) I still can't afford one. If I could however, I would NOT get all the flash and mirrors. While it may be cool, It's certainly not us (DW and I). If I could afford one, I would get one that meets our needs and desires. I don't want to say that we are simple folk, but I am a big fan of Function and form over Flash and mirrors.

Like you though, probably not happening until we retire, win the powerball, or a long lost rich relative remembers me in their will. :sad1:
