Things I definitely will NOT do on my next WDW trip...

That's an awesome suggestion! I would never have thought of that!

1. I will not get caught up in the after wishes bus line again.

2. I will not save money on cheap ponchos and then leave them in the room so I have to buy the expensive Mickey ponchos in the parks.

3. I will not forget to put my 1st and last name on my rented stroller. I thought I was the only Miller in the Magic Kingdom :confused3

I would love to condense all these into one big list to give to people when they tell me they are going to WDW and have no idea of what they are doing!

That would be us. Dh and I haven't been to DW since before we had kids and that was just one day in the MK.

DW had the same problem on our Dec. trip. We had to get new keys to our YC room at least 4 times and the AP replaced until we realized what was going on.

I will not wait on a line for anything that has Winnie the Whining Pooh in it. (that bear drives me nuts :headache: )

I will not allow my feet to be blistered like crazy by day 2, though I have said that many, many times

I will not forget to buy what I like when I see it. I can't even count how many times I was kicking myself on the flight home :confused3

I will not allow me and my wife to spend all of our time at EPCOT in the Rose and Crown...okay...that may be tough :drinking1

I will not let my DH leave without buying the monorail model.

Every year he has talked about getting one, every year at WDW he talks himself out of getting it, and every Christmas he covets the one his parents have under their tree.

It has been 5 years! He is going to get the darn monorail!

DO YOU HEAR ME JOSH? YOU ARE GETTING THE MONORAIL THIS YEAR!

:guilty: :confused3 :rolleyes1  I will no longer allow others to "partially" convince me that it is weird for a 58 year old, divorced male to go to WDW by himself. Not just once but for the past 5 consecutive years.

I don't drink or gamble or smoke...why can't I do this without people trying to make me feel guilty about it. Or worse yet, my finding myself making excuses to people as to why I go.
Hmm. I'm 52 goofy and looking at the point where my DS and DD (who are 17 and 27) won't be going either. Maybe I'll remember your post when that time comes and not be afraid to go, too!

I will not make my entire family get up at the crack of dawn for a character breakfast the first morning of the vacation. Ever again.

Here's the thing...you can go and renew old memories all the while you are making new one's. My children are in their 30's so it has been awhile since I have gone with them. I love the place. It is the only place I have ever found that allows me to be a kid again, without feeling strange about it. I save my money, watch my expenses and go to both get out of the cold of Vermont and to feel young again. I'm not old but the younger people of the world have a way of making you feel like everything is over as soon as you reach 50.

It is different going solo but that doesn't mean that it isn't good. I have a great time, go at my own pace, visit only what I want, eat where I want, and completely have a ME time. There are always times that one wishes that they had someone to share things with and WDW is no exception. But the Pro's way outweigh the Con's. When the time comes to do that, you will find that it is fine.

:coffee:

PS. February 2008 I am bringing my two daughters, their husbands, and my three grandchildren to WDW, my treat! I will be 60 that year and I am so looking forward to the trip now that the impending big 6-0 is not bothering me.

People that rain on your parade don't actually deserve for you to be honest with them.
WOW! Thank you for that comment...that is one worth writing down and keeping!

As far as the single, divorced 58 year old? I'm only 34, single and divorced, and if I have to do it alone someday after my DS12 is grown and out of the house, I'll be happy to go and see every single inch of Disney that I want to. No pressure, no rushing, just take it all in!

On my next WDW trip I will NOT ride the dinky little ride in Mexico in Epcot. We always tend to end up on that ride because It's always "there" and lineless, but really it's a waste of time.....:(

1. I will not ever be without food I know my children like. If they get to a restaurant and don't like the selection...A-LA Peanut Butter Sandwiches!

2. I will not eat CS. While there are a few places where the food is okay, in general, it is bad. It is not worth the price to just dump it in the trash. Plus, then you're still hungry and need to find more food! My kids hated CS.

3. I will not ever take a child on a ride just because he or she is 40 inches. Did this with DD last trip...she still talks about how much she hated Soarin and Test Track.

4. I will not ever pass up buying something in a gift shop in December, only to return home and have one of the kids put it on their Santa list.

5. I will not watch Wishes from right in front of the castle. Not only do you have a terrible view...lots of trees...but you also have to fight monster crowds to leave. The best viewing spot I have had is at the back of Main Street. No trees. No crowds.

6. I will not EVER bring my children to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area in MGM. Talk about a nightmare. Try chasing a four year-old who is running through tunnels while you are crawling on your knees. Not recommended!

7. I will not go out of my way to eat at the Princess Storybook Dinner or Raglan Road again. Of all the restaurants we ate at, these two were the most disappointing.

8. I will not save AK for the next to the last day. The kids were so wired, overtired and over-stimulated, that they couldn't appreciate most of AK. They liked the Lion King show, but as for looking at animals, they were Ho-Hum.

9. I will never wear flat-soled sneakers.

10. I will not ever decide to leave MK right before Holiday Wishes because both children are asleep. We lucked out because all transportation was closed so we couldn't leave and returned to the park. It was tear-inducing. I can't believe we nearly missed it...and DS woke up in time to see it. Even better.

eat worms and die? can't really think of anything else ;)

I will not take my DD17 as she has decided to stay home for Mardi Gras with her friends!

I will try not to miss her too much as DM and I are taking her to Disneyland Paris in May! :bounce:

I have a lot of the same things already mentioned, but here it goes:

I will not wear sandals

I will not fail on my pre-Disney diet

I will not forget my ponchos

I will not forget sunscreen (it's SO pricey!)

I will not allow just one half of a day to tour MGM!

I will not stay at the same hotel twice (there's so many to try!)

I will not plan more than one year in advance

I will not turn down a souvenir b/c of the cost

How much is that monorail? And where do you find it? I thought about getting one!

1. I will not take a stroller (theirs are so much easier)

2. I will not goto Disneyquest

3. I will not turn my back in the wave pool @ TYPHOON LAGOON!! :rotfl:

4. I will not get mad at the bus drivers no matter how many times they tell me to fold my stroller up further even though its as far as it will go!

I will not drink two North Flight martinis in quick succession.

I WILL NOT try to see and do every ride every time we go. We know we will go back.

I WILL relax more at the parks and try to find the hidden gems.

I WILL take at least one non-park day to relax at our pool and enjoy our resort.
