Oh wow...poor Allison! Good luck today with the surgery. Hope it all goes well and hope it isn't too expensive! My 13yo daughter has been complaining about pain in the back of her mouth on one side, and I see what I THINK are her wisdom teeth coming in but then the other night SHE tells ME that maybe they are just her 12 year molars. I have no idea how many teeth she should have by now, but the 12 year molars make more sense! Since all 3 kids already have scheduled dental cleanings/checkups next Monday, I told her she should be able to just wait until then and we'll ask at that time. She is still complaining a little bit but not nearly as much.
I agree - the 12 year molars make the most sense here.
Poor Allison. I hope the surgery goes well and that she feels better soon. Crossing my fingers that your medical insurance covers some of Allison's dental cost. I hope you don't have to dig too deep into your trip fund.
You got a really great discount on the Christmas trees and ornaments.
Good luck today.
Oh no...hugs to Allison. I just had a tooth pulled last month and I definitely feel for her. Tooth pain is the worst. Good luck today and I really hope her healing goes well. Having such an awesome trip to look forward to should help some.
Good luck today. No matter what the cost is she should get out the top and bottom on the infected side. I remember being in college when I got mine out, the oral surgeon who I used would only do one side at a time.
Can't wait to see your tree's next year
Poor Allison. I hope all goes well this morning. I still have my wisdom teeth. My daughter had hers removed and after the first days was feeling better. We have dental insurance which is really helpful. Hopefully you can figure out a way to get to Universal. If not, there's always another time.
The Hogwart's tshirts sound nice. You were lucky to find Christmas trees.
Walmart and Target were all sold out of trees by the day after Christmas. Around here, people line up outside the day after Christmas just to get the marked down stuff. It's crazy.e
I was looking for everyday boots but couldn't find any in my size and didn't find any kitten chow either. We did go to JoAnn's and we found fabric for some easy projects. Since I got that new sewing machine for Christmas, my daughter keeps finding thing for me to do. She wants a pencil rolls for her colored pencils and another one for here niece. We found Dr. Who fabric for the niece as she's a big Dr. Who fan. Now I just have to figure out my new machine.
Today I'm going over my mom's for a little while, then I'll play with the sewing machine.
Have a good day.
Liz
Hahaha... Sound like you need to get your dd her own machine? LOL
Sending many hugs to Allison and you as well! That is so painful. Mine were removed early before they really surfaced. It took me a good day to get back to my normal self. But after that, I felt fine... just looked bruised. I hope everything goes really smoothly and it helps her feel better!!
Thank you - I've been meaning to ask you... I keep calling you "Adi" because I have a Disboutiquer friend by that name, which coincides with your screen name here - I assumed you were her... But now I must know - are you? LOL I would hate to keep calling you Adi - only to find out you are not her.
Ugh. Limbo is the worst. Even if it's bad news that you can't do Universal, at least you would know. I'll keep Allison in my thoughts today. *hugs*
Hi D~
I don't usually post, but have been following along! Love following along with all your updates!!
Regarding the wisdom teeth - I had my wisdom teeth out the summer between junior and senior year a couple of summers ago. I had it done before they came in and started "impacting" my other teeth, as mine were coming sideways. It was a rough first week after having them out. I didn't react very well to the pain meds. I think I even ended up just taking Tylenol for the pain instead of the pain meds. Anyway, the next week started to get better and I felt a lot better by week 3. The swelling takes a bit of time to go down, but by week 3 it should have mostly gone away. So, depending on when your trip is, she should be just fine! Mouth pain is no joke - I can't even imagine having a tooth infected. I hope she feels better soon and her surgery goes smoothly!
Your week can only get better from here, right?

I'll be sending some pixie dust over your way for the financial part to work out!
I'm excited to read your TR when you both come back! You have some of the best trip reports, by far! I'll be honest, I've never been to Disney World!! I've only gone to
Disneyland and we absolutely love it there! We just returned, actually, from a trip last month. I'm in "Disney blues" mode now because I just want to go back! We won't make it back until later this year though.

Oh well! I can relive the magic through the trip reports here on the Dis, even through Disney World trip reports!
Welcome!!! Thanks for telling me this! And thank you - I truly enjoy writing them! And I have never been to DL - some day I will go! Thanks for stopping by, for your well wishes for Allison and I hope you'll continue to follow along.
What a relief that the medical insurance cover most of the dental bill.
Praying for Allison. So glad your insurance will cover the majority of it. It seems like that stuff always happens right before trips. Here's hoping for a quick recovery for her.
Hahaha - that is the truth!
This is fantastic news. I was trying to remember with Jacob. I was thinking Marissa's oral surgeries were all under medical. I know we ended up paying nothing for Jacob's (double insured). Marissa's wisdom teeth have been bothering her for sometime, but the dentist won't take them out, because she has jaw issues. Until he deems her jaw strong enough, she can't have them taken out. We have been trying to for a couple of years now. She may end up having to have surgery first to fix her jaw, before they will do the wisdom teeth.
Good luck to you and Allison today. It is hard to see them in pain and not really be of much help.
What a blessing that the cost will be covered! Hugs, thoughts and prayers for her (and you) for the surgery......
Prayers everything went well! {{HUGS}} to you all!
Poor Allison. From what remember from my kids, Allison will feel really bad for a couple of days. I'll cross my fingers that she is back to being 100% by the time you go to Disney.
Continued prayers!! Hopefully she'll be feeling much better very soon. Did they give her antibiotics for the infection?
Yes - they finally gave her antibiotics yesterday... They said they would look at her infection while they were in there, and if they felt it was needed, they would prescribe. And they did. Which is a relief - I think because infection is a realistic thing with wisdom tooth removal - I feel a little better already having her on antibiotics now, hopefully it will help later too?
Oh thank goodness! I'm so glad the insurance covered it. Yay for Universal!!!!!
Hope she recovers quickly.
When Shannon had her impacted wisdom teeth out, it was covered under our medical insurance, luckily. Our dental insurance would not have covered it at all. She was fine after a couple of days, but the teeth were not infected. That could make a difference.
Andrew had his out in August and he was good to go after a few days too. Hopefully, Allison's recovery goes well.
Hugs.
I am so sorry for Alison. I feel so bad for her (and you too - it is terrible seeing your child in pain). Thankfully it didn't happen while you were actually on your trip. I bet she is going to feel much better in a few days. Be careful for "dry sockets" The chances are higher if you already had an infection beforehand. I am so relieved to know that insurance will cover most of it. My heart was breaking for you knowing you were facing this.
Keeping fingers crossed she heals quickly! HUGS to both of you!
Sorry for the "no official replies" this morning... I just want to take a moment to thank all of you for your prayers and concern for Allison yesterday... I know that having your wisdom teeth out isn't a huge deal - but I always feel that any sort of anesthesia is a big deal, and well - it just makes me nervous as a mom. I was a little shocked and relieved that she was really only back there for about 20 minutes, it was very quick. And she doesn't seem to react to anesthesia as badly as I do - so that's a good thing. However - she is very difficult as a blood draw - her veins roll... which we warned them about. She woke up, to find out her arms and veins had been mutilated while she was under - both arms are terribly bruised and sore - which really annoys me, and you can see where they poked her several times in each arm. Grrrr....
Anyways, she is home and she is medicated - we are keeping up on her meds like you wouldn't believe, just to keep the pain at bay. I am even writing everything down and the times (which I should always do, but never do), so she is getting her doses like clockwork. I think that will help her a lot through today and tomorrow. From what I've read- today and tomorrow will be the worst for pain.
I tried not to take any pictures yesterday, but... Well, I am a mom. LOL
And BFF took a lot of video too - At Allison's request before she went in... BFF has only sent me one of them, she did them in 1 minute chunks... The one she sent isn't the one I want to share, but I will share it anyways. We enjoyed Allison's waking up process immensely.

I think this is the video link?? I post videos so rarely - I can never remember which url it is. Let me know if it doesn't work - and I"ll try another one.

So, today - I am home. I will be lifting this morning, and then appliqueing all day. Depending on how far I get, I may even start some assembly? We'll see?
I have an appointment this afternoon, I'll have to research to see if Allison can be home alone yet, or if I need to bring her with me? She can always sit at BFF's house too, and hang out with Olivia - if she'd like.
I also received some fabric for one more set of leggings and I purchased another pattern for a top... We'll see if I actually get to this?
I hope you all have an amazing day - thank you again for all of your prayers and Pixie Dust yesterday - it means the world to me!
