I'm so glad everything went well. Definitely keep those meds going like clockwork -- it makes a huge difference. And the antibiotics will help -- I'm glad they gave her some -- I got an infection after my second wisdom tooth removal surgery (turned out I had five wisdom teeth, just like my Dad) and it was miserable. Hopefully the antibiotics will keep her from getting an infection from the surgery as well as clearing up the infection she already had.

I know that having your wisdom teeth out isn't a huge deal
I think having your wisdom teeth out is a huge deal since these teeth has huge roots and therefore is difficult to get out.

we are keeping up on her meds like you wouldn't believe, just to keep the pain at bay. I am even writing everything down and the times (which I should always do, but never do), so she is getting her doses like clockwork. I think that will help her a lot through today and tomorrow.
This is a really good choice.
I hope Allison gets better soon.

Today it is 5.0ºF outside. It's freezing. It's not often it's that cold in Tromsø.

Me too! That's why I'm a scardey cat who won't get hers pulled. The anesthesia is what scares me the most of the whole thing. My dentist keeps after me every time I see him but I always tell him that I won't have them out. And I only have 2. But I have a tiny mouth. Anyway, I'm so glad Allison made it through the procedure even though it's going to be painful for a little while.

Now I want to know what kind of makeup you use D~! ;)

Lurker here just catching up! I love your outfits, I can never seem to get the whole legging and tee shirt to work right for me. Right now I am working on getting ready to use two of my favorite dresses to create more for my 40th bday trip. I am just not good at picking out fabric that I can disbound from. Plus one dress I want to switch from the tee shirt to a sleeveless so that may first get created in junk fabric or paper to see how it works.
I still have my wisdom teeth. big baby here too. I floss them and brush them well at least twice a day. I am with you though, DD has to have gas to have a really bad cavity fixed (she is just 5) and I am worried about it. We dont' have a consultation with the pediatric for another few weeks. Luckily they do take our insurance.

On your excess ornaments, I saw some awesome wreaths created on a retro renovation website used "new" ornaments as filler and then used strategicly placed retro ornaments to step it up. If you don't want so many trees, you may be able to create a wreath.

love your updates and family creativity.

Hi D,

I am so happy everything went well with Allison. I have never personally gotten my wisdom teeth out, but I have friends that went through it and I know they found it pretty painful. Wishing her a speedy recovery.:lovestruc
Also, the deal you got on those Christmas trees/decorations the other day is incredible! You must be excited to decorate them next Christmas season!:rotfl:

If you see Marie or Mickey Mouse in the Magic Kingdom. Can you ask them about Figment the Purple Dragon and what they think of him?

:flower1:So happy to hear the surgery is over and insurance covered it! The videos are priceless! There is nothing worse than tooth pain :headache:

All caught up on your PTR, I love the Christmas wall hanging it is beautiful! Your Christmas Tree turned out beautiful also :).

I love all your outfits and the dotted leggings are so cute for Disney :earsgirl:

V is such a great artist! I was really impressed by her drawing you posted (maybe on Facebook?)

:scared: Poor girl! I totally feel for Allison! I had all 4 of my wisom teeth removed last February and it was not fun at all (I got a terrible infection afterwards) She is lucky she had them removed while still a teenager...they say is easier the younger you are, and recovery is much quicker(I'm in my 30s). Youre very wise to keep her up on her pain meds and antibiotic. Be very sure she is following all post-op instructions...no straws, gargling, chewing, etc. I lived off pudding cups for days!

I'm crossing my fingers that Allison heals fast and is not in too much discomfort. I'll be thinking of her. :goodvibes

Hey D,

So glad that Allison is doing well. That video is priceless. Sounds like you will have her pain under control. The great thing is that she can look forward to your vacation. Hopefully she is on antibiotics. Have a great day!!

Glad that everything went well yesterday. Hope Allison isn't in too much pain today.

Such wonderful news!

I really enjoyed both videos and can't wait to show them to Jim tonight!

Hahaha... If you really want to know, I'll tell you, but it might be a long post? :lovestruc I never much cared about make up or anything - but then last year, for our anniversary, Allison did my make-up and it looked so professional and nice... I was addicted right then and there, so I made her teach me, and I've become a little obsessive about doing my make-up professionally now whenever I go out... Which is why it now takes me so long to get ready. :scratchin

Welcome!!! Yah - leggings and tees are hard, I've found I can't do it at all with regular length leggings - they must be crops (for me, anyways), and my shirts MUST be long enough to cover my bum - preferably layered too, I think it just looks better. ::yes:: Most of my outfits are not made by me... I have a basic "template" I follow when doing my outfits - which is, I go ALL OUT with the accessories - bags, head gear, jewels... then I go basic with my clothes - only coordinating in solid colors, and sometimes a few dots thrown in - if I don't think they will be too obnoxious or overwhelming. The first year I did this - 2012, I went all out with clothes and accessories, and IMO - it was just too much... I overheard someone at the FQ bus stop call me "obnoxious" and I was really hurt by that - even though I was having fun - I didn't want to look "obnoxious" either... So, with the following trips, I toned it down and decided to just do accessories - I think that works really well and I've stuck to it. Most of the time, it's pretty easy to keep my same accessories and switch out the colors of my outfits - so even though I reuse my themes over and over again, I try not to do the same colors as much as possible. Although - there is only so much I can do with Donald. LOL But try that maybe? Everyone has a different style though, so do what you love to do. :lovestruc

Good luck with your dd at the dentist... I still have my wisdom teeth for the same reason.

Excellent idea with all the ornaments - I have a bunch of pins on Pinterest, so I figured that I'll be able to do something with them. ::yes::

Thanks!!! I am very excited to decorate next year - as soon as I get this year's stuff down. :scratchin LOL

If we meet them, I will try to remember. :)

Thanks Monica!!!

Glad A is ok and you didn't have to dip into the trip fund!!

Sooooo happy surgery went well! Praying she heals quickly so you can enjoy your trip!!!

Off to watch the videos….. popcorn::

Sorry that I am skipping out on replies again this morning... Since most of you were concerned about Allison - I thought I would just do a general update down here, rather than individual replies that all say the same thing. :lovestruc

Surprisingly - Allison is doing really well. I've been obsessive about keeping up on her meds... Alternating every 3 hours between Tylenol and Ibuprofen - then mixing her penicillin in there too. She was super hungry yesterday, so we ended up at Arbys - she was able to eat the roast beef out of a sandiwich - cutting the pieces off small, so she only had to chew a little bit with her front teeth. That seemed to work well for her. She has been eating a lot of soups/pudding/jello and Naked smoothie drinks. Otherwise she seems to be doing really well and - for the most part - the pain is somewhat tolerable... there's been a few tears here n' there, but mostly - she is doing good.

Thanks again - for your continued prayers and concern for her. Our biggest concern now is if she will be able to eat semi-normally while we are in Disney... It's gonna be close, I think. :scratchin

************************************************************************************

Today... Obviously - Allison is still home. She cannot drive or work while on these meds.

I will be working out shortly...

Allison wants to go out today to find one more pair of pants/capris for the trip... So, I think we might run to the outlet mall? The two stores she typically shops at are right at the edge of the mall - so it would be a quick and easy in/out for us. I don't want to keep her out long - from what I've seen these last 2 days, she wears out fast - and that's when the tears come. But we are running out of time very quickly to get this done, and today will probably be easiest for crowds.

So, looking at my day - it looks like I won't get into my sewing room until this afternoon. I am so lucky that i have the flexibility to work when I can - so when things like this come up, I can work around them.

Ooooh - I also started on another pair of leggings for myself and one of my themes.... I am pretty excited about them actually. ::yes:: I'll probably finish them sometime this weekend? While we are out today - I plan to keep my eyes peeled for a shirt to go with them - I have an idea, but it really depends on if I can find what I want?

OK everyone ~ again, thank you for your continued prayers and concern for Allison, it means a lot to me! :lovestruc I hope you are all having a good week and a great weekend ahead!

D~

So glad Allison is doing well! Hope you have a wonderful weekend. I need to start packing for my trip in 20 days.

So glad to hear that Allison is doing well and loved the video and your "flawless skin"....glad you are able to save that FOREVER. :-)

Wow, I am impressed she was able to eat the beef from Arbys. That is great news. Seems like you have it all under control.

Marissa is taking a 32 hour sewing class through her school's craft center. I may need recommendations on sewing machines I should be on the look out for. I have a cheapy plastic Singer (Walmart low end model). She is so excited to learn how to sew.

She has applied to study abroad next year in Japan. She chose a school in Tokyo, I think mainly because they have a Disney Club. They all have Annual Passes (that are a lot more expensive than the US annual passes) and they go hang out at Disneyland Tokyo. They have a couple of different Annual Passes though. One works just on the weekends after like 2 pm. Then there is one for the weekdays that works after 4 pm. She is looking into those. So, your bags most likely will be seen in Tokyo Disney next year.

So glad Allison is doing well after her surgery. Being the bad mom I am, my oldest (22) scheduled his wisdom teeth to be taken out on the first day of our Disney trip. Oops. Luckily one of his friends could take him and bring him to his apartment (he's in medical school and living about 40 minutes from us, so really is out on his own). It went well, but he did have a slight complication later, which was easily fixed. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing for Allison!

Would you do me a favor--I saw you had posted on the SOG resort thread. Someone mentioned that SOG has a refillable mug, which they said cost $6.95. Would you please find out if they still offer that. I'd like a firm confirmation on it. I'm thinking of a surprise birthday trip for DS2 and I in May and SOG is having a room only discount. DS2 wants to stay at SOG, but he also enjoys that Disney rapid refill mug. If SoG does it also, that would just be a nice bonus!

I'm looking forward to your TR on your SoG visit--I love your Disney TR's (and pre TR's too!)

So happy to hear that Allison is doing well. I hope she recovers quickly and will be able to eat (somewhat) normally in WDW.

Hi D! I haven't checked in in a couple of days and I can't believe the whirlwind you've gone through. Poor Allison. An infected tooth is no joke. So glad you were able to get her in quickly. I'm so glad she's on the mends. She should be feeling better soon. I had my wisdom teeth out and the next day went and cheered at a football game. I was a sophomore in high school and pretty stupid. I lasted until halftime and then had to go home. I was back at school on a Monday and they were taken out on a Friday. My mom is a dental hygienist so no sympathy there. Prayers for a swift recovery. Sounds like she's got a great mom nurse to help her.

So I was 11 PAGES behind on your PTR but I'm finally caught up.

I'm so glad Allison is going well and those videos cracked me up!! Sounds like she'll be in good shape for your trip.

I can't believe someone called you obnoxious! That's so rude and I'm sorry it happened :( I don't know why people have to be like that.

Your trip is getting so close now. I'm so excited for you guys!!!
