They were more like guidelines, anyway...

The :drinking1 are on me.

In that case, I'm in. :p

I'm excited to see how you do with camping, I'm dying to do it but I know DH and the kids would revolt. I will be dragging them to a Ft. Wilderness cabin at some point though.

We took a trip in 2000 when our older kids were little and brought along my BFFs teen daughter. We did Universal, Seaworld and Wet and Wild that trip and it was nice to have the extra set of hands. However, I found myself unable to have that adult night out that was the real purpose for bringing her. I don't know if it was fear of leaving them all in the condo or guilt about having fun without them.:confused3

I am sure Emily will have a blast if it all works out.

I haven't made it through your entire thread yet, but I'm working on it! Not sure where you are in the school process, I just wanted to offer some encouragement! I was 31 when I quit my job and went to nursing school. I had a 4 year old and a 6 month old. It was challenging, but I did it! I'm now an RN and I LOVE it!
We are planning a trip for March and can't wait.
So good luck to you and I'm looking forward to reading more!

:welcome: Yeah! New Poster!!!

I would love to try the cabins someday, just to avoid carting all the "stuff" necessary for tent camping. :rotfl: I'm really looking forward to the campground atmosphere. We love it! And I think it will feel much more relaxing and low-key than the values we've stayed at in the past. :thumbsup2

I got to be the babysitter for my cousin's kids back in 1993. It was a fun trip. beach time all day. Seafood buffets every night. My cousins got to have their adult activities and I had the kids in bed early, then just sacked out on the veranda facing the beach with some music. A win-win in my book.
I know Em will have fun. She loves coasters and she loves those boys, so she'll have a blast introducing them to her happy place. She's never been to Seaworld, so I'm sure she'd enjoy that day also. We'll see how it all goes.

:welcome: TWO new posters in One Day! I'm so excited!!
I must do the Dance of Joy!!! :cool1: lol. Yes, I'm a dork. (Please don't leave now...)

I'm just getting started on the school process. I finish up my prereqs this semester. I've already got my application in for fall. I scored Advanced on my TEAS and got As in all my classes. So it will just depend on if enough others did better. I should find out in early June. If all goes well, I'll be starting in August. It was a big leap for me. I had put off changing my career for a long time, and just finally realized I wasn't getting any younger (when the big 4-0 was looming on the horizon). ;) I'm so glad I finally took the leap and couldn't be happier!

Life's a bit hectic, but my kids are older and Matt's a big help. So, it's really not nearly as bad as I was expecting. I'm sure it will get more challenging come this fall. Then I'll have to decide if I can still manage working full time, but I'll figure that out when the time comes.

So far, I am loving school. I'm a learning junkie, I think. If I had unlimited funds, I could totally be a full time student. ::yes::

March 2014? Will this be your first trip? I see you're a new poster, welcome to the DIS! Feel free to share your planning here if you don't start a thread of your own. It's fun to see what everyone else is doing and sometimes you get some great ideas to steal!!
Thanks for popping in! Please come again!! We love company. :hyper:

Just another real-life babble post.

Took Em to her retinal specialist yesterday for her second shot in this series, and things are going well! :cool1: It actually looked 100% dry! (This has only happened 1 other time in the last three years. :thumbsup2 Even when she was completely off the meds for six months, there was still a small spot of fluid, so YEAH!)

We're going to start tapering back on injections, so 7 weeks until the next one. Would have been six, but that's finals week at the high school, so we bumped it out another week. Hopefully, it stays dry. Fingers crossed.

On my way home from school Thursday, I happened to notice the lot in front of our local Goodwill was packed. That only happens when they have a good sale, so I popped in to see what the deal was. (We've got a nice goodwill, at least for adult's clothes, lots of professionals with good quality items live around here. The kids stuff seems to get sold on yard sales, but most of the adult clothes ends up here.) I got five things for $16.

I got two shirts I'm going to wear on the trip, loose and light weight, so they will be cool and comfy for July in Florida. A pair of white capris. A pair of brand new white Tommy Hilfiger shorts with the tags still on them. :thumbsup2 (I don't typically buy white pants, but they were both so nice, I'll just have to be careful where I sit. lol.) And, finally, a pair of Nike running shorts that are the 'wicking' style, perfect for running/biking AND a July trip to Florida.

Yeah for a good deal! I ended up going back with Matt later in the day and he picked up 13 work shirts for $13, and two pairs of work pants for $14. Not too shabby, lol. I was happy. His job can be hard on clothes, so it pains me to pay top dollar for his work stuff.

All in all, a very good week. I even got a 97% on my Anatomy and Physiology exam. ::yes::

Hope you all are having equally good weeks! Enjoy your weekend! :wave2:

Hi Susan! :wave2:

I finally found some spare time and just went through your pre-trippie :cool1:

Where do I start? :confused3

Okay, how VERY cool about all the surprises this trip!!! :thumbsup2 It's funny cus I LOVE to surprise people and yet I LOATHE when someone surprises me  So I am really looking forward to seeing how it goes. Especially the day when you are supposed to be driving home :lmao: :thumbsup2

Okay, now onto the camping :scared1: :crazy2:

My idea of roughing it is a hotel with no room service :p Just kidding. Well, not really :p

BUT I am really looking forward to hearing about your camping experience at Disney! :goodvibes

I guess it doesn't help that I hate to cook and one of the best parts of a vacation for me, is not cooking :woohoo:

Love that you will be staying at Universal! The RPR might be my fave resort evah! :lovestruc Our next trip will definitely included a stay there again. I really miss IOA, we haven't been back since 2005! :guilty:

Loving all the old pics, your kids are too cute :goodvibes

Anyways....can't wait to hear all about! Not long now :dance3:

Gotta admit, that's the part I'm the most excited about too! :lmao:

Trust me, you're not the only one. We get that a lot! ;) I am looking forward to our more pampered stay at Universal at the tail end of this trip. I'll probably be ReALlY looking forward to it when we're sweatin' our way around the world!

I also HATE to cook, but typically do very little when we camp. Apparently, cooking over a campstove or campfire is Man's work. lol. Suits me just fine. ::yes::

Definitely the nicest hotel we've ever stayed at. I loved the atmosphere. The walk to City Walk was peaceful and short, we barely used the boats. The kids loved the pool! I'm so excited to be going back. We might pool hop to the other two resorts this time, just to check them out also! :cool1: Universal rocks!

Loving all the old pics, your kids are too cute :goodvibes

Enjoy yours while you can, they grow up sooo fast. It's hard to believe my little girl will be heading off to college in there little years. :faint:

Anyways....can't wait to hear all about! Not long now :dance3:

That reminds me, I wanted to get a "Day Count" since my countdown calendar only gives the weeks....

DRUM ROLL:

95 Days To Go!!!!

Wow on your goodwill shopping spree. Those were some awesome deals:thumbsup2

So glad Emily's treatment is going so well. Life is always best when our babies are healthy:goodvibes.

Congrats on your tests!!

I'm really glad to hear that Emily's eye is starting to behave. Hopefully it will behave now for awhile for you so that you won't have to worry about it as the trip gets closer. I can't imagine what that anxiety plus the anxiety of the trip AND all that housework must be like. You're one tough cookie.

Goodwill deals are always awesome and I'm glad you were able to take part in an even more awesome sale. That little extra money saved on things feels nice.

I'm glad to see things are going well for you AND you're under 100 days! :cool1:

I'm going to use that one on her sometime. Your eye better behave or we're going to torture it some more. ha ha. We have a sick sense of humor sometimes.

Honestly, I used to be a major stressor. But, I gave it up for lent sometime back in the early 2000s and it never really came back. :lmao: Okay, I joke about the lent part, but truthfully, my stress level is at an all time low, I think I finally realized you just have to plan for the worst and then take things as they come. Unexpected things happen in life, so I just try to enjoy the ride.

Yep, I'm tickled. I've got two new outfits I don't have to feel guilty for...

like the sandals.
:lmao:

I'm glad to see things are going well for you AND you're under 100 days! :cool1:

Can't wait to hear more of your summer fun plans from now until the trip. Keep us updated.

We've got the Red's game this Sunday. I hope it's an exciting one!

A few more pictures of Spring!

I had a little fun with photobucket editing on those last couple. lol. I think I went just a tad too far on the last one. :lmao:

Still.... Gotta LUV Spring!

Beautiful pictures. Spring is my favorite time of the year but we rarely get to enjoy it with all the pollen in Georgia.

Hey! I'm home and trying to get back into my real life...it's slow going!

All caught up on your report. Loving the throwback pics! So glad to hear about the progress on Em's eye. That's good news! Great finds at Goodwill...I love it when that happens!

I'll be starting a TR soon...still figuring out a title and trying to get over being sad about being home first! ;)

You too, huh? Garren's got allergy issues too, and spring just beats him down. He's about a year in on allergy shots now, and the allergies are still pretty rough. It's supposed to be about a four year process, and I really hope it's worth it for him in the end. :scared:

Welcome Home again! I'm excited to read your report, but I totally understand having to get past the sad stuff first. I'm going to be the same way.
Glad you liked the pictures! It was fun hunting a few up. It's hard to believe how much they've changed in just three short years...

I'm late, I'm late for a very important date! - the white rabbit

Like the white rabbit, I am late to this PTR party. But joining in! I have read all of your chapters and I'm all caught up! I was a lurker for a little bit, but I have come out of the shadows! :sunny:

:welcome: and :thanks: for coming out of hiding! I love meeting new people! :cool1:

We took in the Reds-Marlins game today. It was a good game. It got a little cold for us once the sun moved and we ended up in the shade; but, not too terrible. And the Reds Won! Which makes up for sitting there chilling. lol. (I couldn't believe the people eating dippin dots or frozen lemonades :scared:. Yikes, too cold for me. I wanted a Hot Chocolate. :rotfl:) But, all in all, a good day.

Nothing new really in our life, and no new plans to report.
Only three more weeks of school for me, and five for the kids. Then, it's officially summer at our house. (Whether the calendar and the weather cooperate or not. lol.) At that point, this trip is going to feel much, much closer!
Can't wait!!! :cheer2:

Glad you had a fun day at the ball game. Not sure about you but things get crazy for us those last few weeks of school(DS has just 4 more weeks). It really makes the time go fast.

Isn't that the truth! One thing I love, my kids are finally old enough to see that the time flies too, so there's less "end of the year" whining about how summer is NEVER going to get here... :thumbsup2

How is Emily's job search going? Riley turned 15 last Tuesday and now wants to get a job. The only problem is most places around here want the kids to be 16. Oh well...if he keeps trying maybe he can find someplace to give him a chance.
